The princess loved to ice-skate and have little adventures. One day, as Annika practiced her jumps and spins, she noticed an adorable polar bear cub watching her. Since the cub was alone— and cold—Annika decided to take her home. “I think I'll call you Shiver,” the princess told her new friend. The King and Queen were upset that Annika had wandered from the castle. They forbade her to ice-skate ever again. “It’s not fair!” the princess cried as she ran to her room. Later that night, Annika saw fireworks in the village below— they were having a skating party! The princess quickly changed into a beautiful dress. Then she and Shiver sneaked outside. Just then, the King and Queen rode up in the royal carriage. “No! No!” shouted the King. “Leave her alone!” “No one tells me what to do!” Wenlock snarled. “Maybe you've forgotten what happened to your other daughter.” Annika was puzzled. She didn't have a sister. Kingdom. y At the palace, Annika met the beautiful Cloud Queen—and learned that Brietta was really her sister! Wenlock had turned Brietta into a flying horse after she refused to marry him. When Brietta couldn't break the spell, she had come to live in the Cloud Kingdom. “The only thing that is powerful enough to stop Wenlock is the Wand of Light,’ explained the Cloud Queen. “It is built from a Measure of Courage, a Gem of Ice lit by Hope’s Eternal Flame, and a Ring of Love.’ Before the two sisters left to find the enchanted items, the Cloud Queen placed a crystal bell around Briettas neck. “If you need help, use this bell to call me.’ soup pot, and the ® When they rejoined Brietta and Aidan, Annika explained how she and Shiver had escaped using her hair ribbon. “The ribbon is your exact height!” Brietta exclaimed, “Your exact measure. A Measure of Courage!” The ribbon began to sparkle. Then it turned into a glittering staff. Shiver fell down an ice gully, and Annika and Brietta were caught in traps. As the sisters hung helplessly from a tree, a handsome young man named Aidan rode up on his horse. He quickly used his sword to free them. Now all the friends needed was the Ring of Love. Aidan suggested making one from his metal sword, but Brietta offered her beautiful crown instead. “It’s for our kingdom and our parents,” Brietta told Annika. “T love them.’ With those words, the crown began to glow. But the wand didn't work—and time was running out. “Release my parents and the others, and I'll marry you, Annika said sadly. “T don't want you anymore, replied Wenlock as he fired his wand by Annika's feet.
