We are seeking new members to join the SIN Board! What is the SIN Board? The SIN Board is responsible, in partnership with the CEO , for overseeing the running of SIN. The SIN Board is comprised entirely of past and current sex workers. The work of the Board helps to ensure that SIN is accountable to, and best servicing the needs of , the sex worker community in SA. SIN Board roles are considered volunteer positions - however, we respect the skills and experience that each sex worker brings to the table, and members are paid for their time. Nominations are open until 5.00pm on Thursday 20 th November. The SIN Board meets every 6 weeks (online and/or in - person, by negotiation). Board members are paid a quarterly stipend for their service. Payment dates can also be negotiated. This year (2025), the following positions are available on the SIN board. The President The SIN President a cts as the official contact for the organisation along with the CEO . Ensures members are consulted on a regular basis. Contributes to setting the agenda for meetings, chairing meetings, and ensuring the Board acts in - line with SIN values and governance responsibilities. The Vice President The Vice President shall fulfil the roles and functions of the President in their absence or at the President’s request. Secretary Responsible for minute - taking at meetings, organising documents (agendas, previous minutes), external communication, and SIN membership applications. Treasurer In partnership with the CEO and the SIN Finance Officer, the treasurer oversees the financial health of the organisation. General Member 1 x General M ember position available General members of the SIN Board do not have active tasks and activities; however, general members may be called upon to step up when another member is away and needs someone to take over their duties temporarily. General members have voting rights on the SIN Board.
