Printing manual for Prusa printers Preface If it is your first time using a Prusa 3D Printer, please watch this 20 minute guide by Prusa 3D. It will help prevent most mistakes and explain the basic usage of the printer. • VIDEO - FIRST TIMER GUIDE Slicing and exporting G - code • DOC - SLICE A MODEL • VID - USE PRUSASLICER 1. Load your model into PrusaSlicer 2. Check that the selected Printer is “Prusa i3 MK** 3. Select the printing material “PLA -- ABS -- PETG -- FLEX", PLA is the usual go to 4. Select your desired layer resolution, default to “0.2mm Quality” when in doubt 5. Set your desired infill amount, the more infill the sturdier the print will be 6. Press “Slice Now” 7. Press “Export G - code” 8. Move generated G - code to the printers SD Card Changing Filament • VIDEO - CHANGE FILAMENT ON A PRUSA I3 1. Unload filament, see page °2 2. Load filament, see page °2 Starting a print • VIDEO - START A PRINT 1. Insert the SD Card with your sliced model into the Prusa i3 2. Navigate with the Control Knob to “Print from SD” 3. Search for your file and push the Control Knob 4. The Printer will now start to print your sliced 3D Model Unload Filament 1. Navigate to “Preheat” and select the currently loaded material #usually PLA 2. Wait until everything is preheated, check that the numbers on the screen match 3. Navigate to “Unload Filament” and push the knob 4. Secure the unloaded filament in the spool so it won’t loosen the whole spool Load Filament 1. Navigate to “Preheat” and select the to be loaded material #usually PLA 2. Cut the to be loaded filament diagonally, so it will smoothly load 3. Direct the filament into the extruder until you feel a resistance, hold it there gently 4. Navigate to “Load Filament” a nd push knob, release the filament now 5.
