Just ask! The Greatest Games You (Probably) Never Played vol. 1 Cover (1980s PC games) Here’s an idea for the composition: The two characters – Roman (Boy) and Ramy (Girl) are fighting desperately against an onslaught of (legally distinct from existing IP) video game enemies while the helicopter from Choplifter ! rescues them. Roman is providing cover fire while Ramy is climbing the rope ladder and shooting. If we can include it, Bit ( Cybercat ) and Byte (Robot shark - dog) are also in the scene. One (probably Bit) could be up on the helicopter waiting for Ramy. ROMAN: A boy about 12 years old with spiky, unruly blond hair and glasses. He’s wisecracking and hyperactive and a bit fearless. He’s the kind of kid who loves to play with the big guns and make things explode with a gleeful expression. In this scene, he can be dressed up in some sort of futuristic military fatigues to suit the fact that he’s about to get rescued by a military helicopter. He’s wearing a blue headband and has on a headset with headphones so he can communicate. RAMY: A girl about 14 - 15 years old with red hair in a braid and glasses. She has bangs over her black headband, but they’re controlled. She’s taller than Ramy because she’s older, but she’s also more restrained. She’s the type of girl who isn’t afraid of a fight but who’s more of a tactician who prefers to avoid direct conflict until the odds are tilting her way. Ramy is wearing a headset as well. She has a more determined expression on her face because she grits her teeth to get through trouble. Enemy reference Art #1 The bad guys are the ones in blue (above) or green (below ) but the hero pose below could also be used as reference for Ram or Rom in the image! Giant ants are always fun to see! The original Paradroid artwork isn’t menacing, but here are two alt covers The werewolf only appears as a silhouette in Transylvania but he’s creepy! The little girl in Weird Dreams bounces a soccer ball (that tries to eat you) and also has a butcher knife behind her back. https://youtu.be/T_fqBr3iOtE?si=lYn b6z57UfockizJ&t=286 The vandal is supposed to be a punk I think. Set (winged serpent) is easier to see here: https://youtu.be/MUobc8wNTfY?si=oLcKa 04KAsJ - DoUV&t=963 Again, not an important inclusion. Sword of the Samurai. The ninja would also be fine since I mention the game The Last Ninja in the book! The tiger in Alcazar is just a tiger. Nothing special. If he doesn’t fit, don’t include him. The floating eyes in Manhunter: New York actually have antennae! We could also use German soldiers from Castle Wolfenstein... Bad guys are blue/white in Airborne Ranger Several games I wrote about include a WWII tank platoon so feel free to find appropriate reference art for that! Kult is also known as Chamber of the Sci - Mutant Priestesses The Sentinel / The Sentry is a very imposing abstract polygonal sculpture. The spaceship from UFO Skyfox II also has some fun ideas. If we can include it, Bit ( Cybercat ) and Byte (Robot shark - dog) are also in the scene, perhaps on the helicopter. BIT: A cybernetic cat who is black but who has a slight green glow and some green lines around the contours of her body and areas where weapons can pop out. She also has bright green eyes. She’s the size of a housecat but has several weapons that can protrude from her front shoulders and hind quarters. She also has a robotic tail that can be used as a whip - like blade. Think Ravage from Transformers, but far more feminine and sleeker. She can appear friendly when she’s not in combat. BYTE: A robotic all - metal bully breed dog with a shark’s mouth and gleaming teeth. He has a fin on top but dog - like legs with robotic claws on the bottom. If he has a tail, it’s stubby. He’s the size of a small dog, but bigger than Bit. If he was sitting on his haunches, his head would be about knee - height on Roman. When he’s standing, his head’s more in line with his body due to his shark - like face, but his nose is turned up a bit rather than being straight like a shark’s. He’s silver and had glowing red eyes that make him look more menacing when he’s attacking, but his eyes are blue and calm when he’s not. Bit ( Cybercat ) and Byte ( Sharkdogbot )
