SMR - MASTER Shaft mounted gear reducer The reducers are distinctly design to ensure long life performances. Casing : Made from close grain cast iron and precision machined to ensure proper alignment in assembly. Gears : The helical gears are made from alloy steel, hardened and ground for maximum wear resistance and providing optimum strength and life expectancy. Shafts : Input shafts are machined from alloy steel,tolerances and keyway dimensions follow international standards. Output hub are in metric bore dimensions as standard and it is available in imperial dimensions on demand. The hub are fitted with collars. Bearings & : High quality deep groove ball and taper roller bearings are employed. Double lipped Seals oil seals ensure oil tightness during rotation of shafts. Backstop : Available on all units with double reduction ratio ie 1:13 and 1:20. One way clutch bearings are used. Lubrication : Standard mineral oils. O : Without backstop CW : Backstop , clockwise free CCW : Backstop, anticlosewise free 1 Ratio 1:5 Size 5 In total, there are 8 sizes manufactured and they are available in reduction ratio of 5:1, 13:1 and 20:1. A wide range of output speeds can be determined by the use of approporiate input belt drive. DESIGNATION 5B 05 O TECHNICAL The SMR - Master is designed to provide a very economical and convenient solution of reducing speed as it can be directly mounted on the driven shaft . This direct mounting principle ensure correct alignment and eliminates the use of foundations, couplings etc. SMR - MASTER Shaft Mounted Gear Reducer SELECTION PROCEDURE 1 -- Determine the Service Factor from Table 1 1 -- Sevice Factor from Table 1 2 -- Determine the Design Power by multiplying the Service Factor Fs = Fs1 absorbed power by the service factor obtained = 1 in Table 1. 3 -- Selection of gear size by using the value obtained 2 -- Design power Pn = P x Fs from Step 2 and choose the correct gear based = 7 x 1 on ratings obtained in Table 2 and 3. = 7 kw 4 -- Selection of V Belt pulley drives by refering to page 7 to 10. The selection is done based on an 3 -- Gear Selected input speed at 1440rpm. For other input speeds, Refer to Table 3 on page 4. please consult our Techincal Dept. Size 5E13 has a rating of 10.2kw at 100rpm. This unit is suitable. Dimesnsions on page 5. Example A shaft mounted gear reducer is required for an uniform 4 -- V Belt Selection belt conveyor. The belt conveyor operates 8 hours/day Refer to page 10. and with one start per day. Factory fitted. For Size 3C13,3C20; 4D13,4D20; 5E13,5E20; 6F13,6F20. With the chamfered face of the backstop facing you, feed the assmbly into the housing by rotating the shaft in its free direction will assist the installation. If the opposite direction of rotation is required, remove the assembly and turn the sprag assembly 180° and reassemble With the outer race fully in place, rotate the shaft in it backstopping direction. When the assembly is correct, the outer race will now rotate with the shaft, use this to align the keyways. Slide in the key showed in Pt No 2 above. For Size 7G13,7G20; 8H13, 8H20 ; 9J13,9J20 With the chamfered end of the backstop outer race facing you, you determine the direction of ortation using the inner race. If the opposition direction is required, slide out the sprag assembly and inner race, turn end for end and replace in the outer race. Check direction of rotation then remove inner race. Put key into keyway and press inner race onto shaft. Insert circlip as showed in ref 4 into groove on shaft. Then press outer race and sprag assembly into housing. Rotating the input shaft in it free direction can help. When the outer race is fully in place, rotate the shaft in it backstopping direction. When the assembly is correct, the outer race will now rotate with the shaft.
