Start Date : 9/26/2021 League Coordinator: Diana Gasiewski Contact: southbowlleagues@gmail.com When & Where: 6 pm - every Sunday 10 week split season South Bowl 19 E Oregon Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19125 Team Size: 4 Player teams Up to 8 players per roster, you may switch bowlers out each week or for each game. Who Can Sign Up? Individuals, Partial Teams & Full Teams Rainbow Club is open to all bowlers, regardless of skill level or prior league experience. How Does This All Work? Each team plays 3 games against another team each week. Each team’s individual bowler scores are combined--your team wins games by having a higher combined score. Teams earn points for every game won & these points determine the standings over the course of the bowling season. 4 points are awarded each week: 1 point per game won + 1 point to the team that has the highest combined score For example, let’s look at a typical match: Team 1 vs Team 2 Handicaps Explained: As a way to keep the league competitive, we’ll use handicaps to adjust for the difference in bowler skill level. Players with a lower average will have points automatically added to their score each night. The handicap for this league will be 90% of 200. Here’s how it works: Team 1 Team 2 Combined Score Combined Score Team 1 Team 2 Game 1 400 410 1 Game 2 410 400 1 Game 3 390 380 1 Total Score 1200 1190 1 3 1 Points Won Total Points Earned: Points are added based on 90% of the difference between the bowler’s average and 200. For example: Bowler Average is 110 , so (200-110) x 90% = 81 points added each game Bowler Average is 170 , so (200-170) x 90% = 27 points added each game Basically, players with higher averages get less points added to their scores. Bowlers with lower averages get more points added to their scores. Cost: $60 per team/per week ($15 per player) Split Season: The 10 week season will be split into two 5 week halves. At the end of each half, points will be tallied and the standings will be set. When the second half starts, everyone’s points will be reset and new teams can join. Each half will consist of 4 weeks of regular bowling and 1 position round. During the position round week, you will play the team that you are closest to in the standings (1st place vs. 2nd place, etc.). This gives teams a better chance to improve their standings before points are tallied after each half. Absentees, Forfeits & Prebowls: If a member of your team has to miss a night and you are unable to find a replacement, a ‘blind’ score will be used in place of the absent bowler. The blind score will be 10 points below the absent bowler’s average--it will be used for all three games. Your team needs at least two bowlers present for a legal lineup. If only one or no bowlers show that week, your team will forfeit. The team that was scheduled to play you will instead play against their own average. If you are bowling against a forfeited team, you will have to bowl within 40 points of your team average in order to win points each game. If you or your team needs to skip a night, you have the option to pre-bowl. You can bowl your three games ahead of time and we will use those scores in your absence. You and your team will still be responsible for paying lineage for the week that you will be missing. Prize Fund: A portion of your lineage will go towards the league prize fund. This pot of money will be split up at the end of each season. These numbers are subject to change depending on how many teams join the league. Here’s a typical prize fund distribution breakdown: - $ per point (usually around $2-3) - Additional prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Scan the qr code to sign up! Any Questions?
