Roundtrip Bulgaria

The Arch of Freedom on the Beklemeto (Troyan) Pass is a 35 metre concrete monument on Goraltepe peak, the highest crossing in the Balkan Mountains. Designed by architect Georgi Stoilov with sculptor Velichko Minekov and completed in 1978, it marks the winter crossing of 1878 that helped liberate Bulgaria, alongside the year 1944.
