The 1940s saw the birth of staffing agencies. Many working men and women were forced to quit their jobs to fight for the cause of peace when World War II was in full swing. As troops left their posts, companies back home struggled to locate qualified workers. Soon after, organizations were established that started hiring to fill the open positions, and even after the conflict was over, these organizations kept looking for new jobs for the displaced troops. As a result, staffing companies and the hiring and Manpower Recruitment Agency were created.
