Rescue Hotel Ambassador & Rugby Legend, Sam Warburton 2 THE RESCUE HOTEL - BARK IN THE PARK In May 2023, The Rescue Hotel hosted our first-ever Bark in the Park Dog Show at Victoria Park in Barry. The event was a huge success, with over 1500 people and hundreds of dogs in attendance. The event spanned 4 hours and featured a dog show with 5 categories for people to enter their canine companions. There was plenty of fun outside the show ring as well, with activities such as Have-a-go agility (with Valleys Dog Behaviour and Training) and the doggy dash. For humans, there were market stalls to browse, food vendors, face painting, lots of walkabout entertainment, and a meet & greet with our very own ambassador and rugby legend, Sam Warburton The 2024 event will be even bigger as we move to a new, larger park to cater to the huge crowds that flocked to the previous event. Coba was found abandoned, suffering from a horrific skin condition. He was just 8 months old when he arrived with extremely painful open sores on his back, neck, and face. His eyes were also in a terrible state, and he needed entropion surgery to ensure he was no longer in pain. Despite the immense pain he was suffering, Coba was the sweetest soul, showering his caregivers with kisses during his daily wound clean- ing sessions. Once his wounds were healed, and he was well enough, Coba underwent the necessary surgery to ensure his eyes would no longer cause him any pain. He has now been successfully adopted and is living the life he de- serves, full of love and happiness. Coba’s Story... The Rescue Hotel takes care of up to 800 dogs every year. Here are just a couple of them. Your money will help us give more dogs like Coba and Ol- ive the second chance of happiness that they deserve. 6 THE RESCUE HOTEL - BARK IN THE PARK Olive’s Story... Olive came to us after her vets reached out for help. She had badly broken her leg and required over £4,000 worth of treatment to regain her health. Unfortunately, Olive’s owner, unable to afford the surgery cost, requested that she be put to sleep. At just 7 months old, Olive had her entire life ahead of her. When we were asked if we could help spare her life, we immediately agreed. We coordinated the specialist surgery Olive needed and provided care during her recuperation post-surgery. After a successful recovery, Olive has been signed off by the vet with a clean bill of health. She is now thriving in her forever home, living her best life. 7 THE RESCUE HOTEL - BARK IN THE PARK Last Year’s Sponsors... 8 THE RESCUE HOTEL - BARK IN THE PARK If your business would like to sponsor Bark in the Park 2024 or if you’d like more information, please contact us on... hello@therescuehotel.com Thank you The Rescue Hotel Team Get involved...
