Our learners are held for 19 years (Grade RR-12 and 5 years post matric and often beyond) About the position: Reporting to the Career Development Manager, the Career study coach fulfills the following primary functions, amongst others: Key responsibilities: • Understands study pathways into critical and solid careers and successfully coaches learners (Grade 12) and alumni into and through these. • Referral agent for recruitment and selection: Assist all Christel House alumni who have completed their studies to be referred timeously to the Career employment coach, who will assist in finding gainful, quality employment. • Reporting: Make sure study targets are met and that all Alumni are actively moving towards studies which will position them for economic self-sufficiency. • Career preparation: Assist grade 12 learners in making realistic and informed choices about their career development and assist them in study, learnership and employment applications. Skills required: • Coaching skills and the ability to motivate and build rapport with young people. • End user computing: Comfortable with Microsoft suite • Hold a full driving license. Attitude required: • Good organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage own projects, work under pressure.. Must be pro-active, a self- starter, able to work independently. • Comfortable in liaising with senior employees of training and development organisations and institutions of Higher learning. • Flexibility: Be able to work occasionally in the evenings (online meetings with students), or occasionally on weekends if required. Knowledge , experience and other requirements : • Be in possession of a diploma/degree in Human resources or related (Business, Industrial Psychology, or Industrial Social work) • Be familiar with the Human resources/capital field, particularly career management, training, and development methodologies.
