That being said if your device stops working at any point or displays any unusual behavi our please reach out to us right away. Do not attempt to continue using the product. The safety of the ARROE user is essential. The battery management system (BMS) pos sesses cell balancing during charge/discharge, overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection, over discharge protection, high temperature protection and low temperature protection, among many others. The cartridge also contains two stainless steel (SUS30 4) metal plates which are secured to the internal casing wall of all battery cartridges. The plates cover the battery pack inside to prevent perforation and other methods of damage, therefore dimensions are approx. 180 × 158 mm (or have a slightly larger s urface area than the face of the battery pack). The cartridge also contains a sponge mat, to allow for normal expansion and swelling of the battery cells during cycling. 1.5 CONTACT US The ARROE Smart Charging System is the first connected charging product in the world, so you may have some questions along the way as you get used to the charging product itself and the ARROE mobile app. You can contact the ARROE Support Team 24/7 the following ways: ● By using the live chat directly in the ARROE mobile app ( iOS and Android ) under Settings (gear icon) > Help > Contact Us ● By emailing support@arroe.com 9 1.6 KEY FEATURES Safely charge any laptop. The ARROE app works with the firmware on the ARROE Smart Charging System to automatically customise the voltage and current which is outputted from thet of the ARROE Smart Charging S ystem battery to match the device it is charging. This is particularly important when charging laptops which all charge at different voltages. Other power bank’s output set voltages (i.e. 12/16/19 V) which do not match the voltage inputs for most laptops. This means that the charging of a laptop/Microsoft Surface device at these set voltages results in permanent damage to the laptop battery and laptop’s circuitry. The ARROE Smart Charging System is the first portable battery that can safely charge any lapto p including Microsoft Surface. Charge all of your devices including laptops on the go. Use the ARROE Smart Charging System as a portable battery to charge all of your personal devices on the go, including laptops, tablets, mobile phones, wireless chargin g devices and more. When connection is s uccessful the ARROE app will return to the “Devices” screen. 5. The next time you turn on your ARROE Smart Charging System and open the ARROE app the devices will either automatically reconnect or you should connect to the ARROE Smart Charging System by selecting the ‘Tap to reconnect” button which is located below the ARROE Smart Charging System profile on the “Devices” screen in the ARROE app. The ARROE app will show “Connecting/Getting Battery Data” while it initially communicates with the ARROE Smart Charging System. 6. If you go outside of the Bluetooth range of the ARROE Smart Charging System with the ARROE app temporarily, both devices should reconnect automatically when you come back within Bluetooth range. Automatic reconnection may not always occur as this is dependent on user time outside of Bluetooth range, the age of the smartphone’s Bluetooth hardware and the type of operating system (OS) as iOS and Android are dependent on different Bluetooth libraries. 7. To monitor and control the ARROE Smart Charging System tap the ARROE Smart Charging System profile. 8. The ARROE Smart Charging System screen will display its battery’s State of Charge (SoC) at the top of the screen as a percentage (%) inside a coloured circle for visual depiction of the battery’s State of Charge. 18 9. The coloured battery State of Charge circle also displays the charging state (“Charging” or “Discharging”) of the ARROE Smart Charging System. The ARROE Smart Charging System will be in a “Charging” state when it is charging using the ARROE wall adapter. The ARROE Sma rt Charging System will be in a “Discharging” state or when peripheral devices are being charged by the ARROE Smart Charging System via the USB - C, USB - A or DC barrel ports or via wireless charging. The ARROE Smart Charging System will also be in a “Discharging” state when it is powered on but not in use as it requires battery charge to be connected, although this is negligible. The ARROE Smart Charging System will automatically power off after 30 m inutes of inactivity. This means that once you disconnect peripheral devices from the ports or wireless charging platform of the ARROE Smart Charging System, 30 minutes later the ARROE Smart Charging System will power off. This will also occur when you use the ARROE app to stop the charging of connected devices. 19 As DC barrel port charging is old technology the user must remove the DC cable from the port or turn off the DC barrel port using the ARROE app to prevent unwanted battery discharge. 10. If you choose to swipe left on the coloured battery State of Charge circle, the charge capacity of the inserted ARROE battery cartridge will be displayed. The units milliamp per hour (mAh) are used here. Just below this value you will see the number of charge cycles sp ecific to the inserted ARROE battery cartridge. This number will tell you how many times the battery cartridge has been fully charged and discharged. Your ARROE Smart Charging System may display several charge cycles when it arrives after shipping as it may have been tested several times before leaving our quality control process. 11. Below this, the screen displays a time value which is the amount of time remaining until the ARROE Smart Charging System is completely charged or completely discharged. To see the time remaining until fully charged the ARROE Smart Charging System must be charged via the ARROE wall adapter, which must be connected to a powered wall outlet. 20 12. In the middle of the ARROE Smart Charging System profile screen there is a settings section. 13. Use the scroll bar to select a battery State of Charge. When the ARROE Smart Charging System is discharging, it will automatically stop charging any peripheral devices which are charging. This is set at 20% as default to exten d the battery health of the ARROE Smart Charging System over time, by up to 50%. It is also helpful to save you some charge for your devices when you really need it or in case of an emergency. You can choose to set this at a lower battery percentage if thi s is desired. 14. Below the scroll bar, there is a “Control Ports” button. Tap this button to proceed to the “Control Ports” screen. 15. Here you can toggle off and on the DC barrel port, the wireless charging function, the USB - A port, USB - C port 1 and USB - C por t 2. Connection of a peripheral device to any of the ports will automatically toggle the port button to the enabled position.
