We, the People Search for Peace, Se- curity and Conflict Resolution The brotherhood of truth is one in all ages it is narrow men who create sects. let them not think that the goods of this world can shield them from evil or its consequences. God’s truth and his messengers can be known to all: for he in is his mercy has given us faculties and judgment, if we would but use them. The message is not new: all Creation proclaims it: high above all is the lord of Glory supreme. (A synoptic narrative offered by Abdullah Yousef Ali in his commentary to the Chapter 23 on “The Believ- ers.” The Quran). Mahboob A. Khawaja, PhD. Global peace, security and conflict management and diplomacy are complex disciplines of continu- ous change, unpredictability and adaptability to fu- ture-making and multidisciplinary framework hav- ing rational practices to analyze varied and critical facets of contemporary and emerging national, re- gional and international crisis situations and con- flicts between states, governments, and nations for analysis, conflict management, and workable strate- gies to attain accords and peaceful resolution. Given the multidisciplinary nature and scope of academic studies in global affairs, politics and inter- national relations, foreign policy making, psycholo- gy, social science, public communication and other interactive areas, the ever fast growing global in- terest and participation seem to have overwhelmed the scope of the discipline to envisage broader im- plications beyond time and space, geopolitical and invisible information-age and technologically ad- vanced frontiers in its pursuit for rational approach- es to understand the imperatives of new, innovative and unthinkable challenges to global peace, security and conflict management. Exploring the future is a learning future that all educational programs aim at to equip the students for the infinite challenges Wars on Humanity: Ukraine, Palestine and the role of Global Leaders ahead - be it educational, intellectual and technolog- ical frontiers to imagine adaptability to the futuristic demands. The approach ushers a new beginning and a new life to a fraught conjecture of unthinking and fail- ures in the past and the present. With the infinite convergence of the information technologies and the new revitalized aspirations of global citizenry in peace and conflict management, the infinite varieties of space and time implications make it incumbent upon the thinking and concerned scholars to focus on developing new and creative framework of mod- els to deal with new invisible and horizon less chal- lenges we are set to encounter and experience in this discipline. The 21 st century and beyond approaches crystal- lize the breadth of global peace, security and conflict resolution, both traditional and emerging innova- tive strategies and how they relate to contemporary dynamic conflict environments dominated by the customary superpowers and obsolete nature of the international laws of governance. The global sys- tems of governance of the few exhibits a spectacle of ignorance, greed and cruelty toward the interests Mahboob A. Khawaja, PhD. and aspirations of morally, spiritually and intellec- tually conscientious global citizenry in its quest for progress, change and security into sustainable fu- ture-making. German poet bertolt brech shared his futuristic vision “ To Those Born Later”: What kind of times are they, when a talk about trees is almost a crime because it implies silence about so many horrors? That man there calmly crossing the street is already perhaps beyond the reach of his friends Who are in need? They say to me: eat and drink! be glad you have it! but how can i eat and drink if i snatch what i eat from the starving, and my glass of water belongs to one dying of thirst? and yet i eat and drink. i would also like to be wise. in the old books it says that wisdom is: Wars on Humanity: Ukraine, Palestine and the role of Global Leaders to shun the strife of the world and to live out your brief time without fear also to get along without violence to return good for evil not to fulfill your desires but to forget them is accounted wise. all this i cannot do. truly, i live in dark times. Colonization and occupation are reasoned with false propaganda by despotic leaders. Tyranny and insanity are transitory but boundless in absurd- ity and force of cruelty being witnessed live across Ukraine, Palestine and elsewhere. An evil is insepa- rable from aggression and killing machines destroy- ing lives, infrastructures, hospitals, places of worship and human survival. There are no international insti- tutions of peace and conflict management to reflect what went wrong. Israeli extremists and Palestinians striving for national identities and freedom are en- croached by perpetuated animosities. Propaganda and Western vigilance replaced pains, horrors and massive devastation caused to humanitarian survival in Gaza. The US and West European political lead- ers appear indifferent to the reality of equal human rights, justice and freedom. The on-going wars in Mahboob A. Khawaja, PhD. Gaza and Ukraine are no exception as planned hu- man tragedies to foster political absolutism of the few powerful nations. Tyranny and transgression having been transformed into live and sensational entertainments on TV screen and corruption per- petuated by egomaniac and sadistic warmongering global leadership and greed and need of the over- whelming international corporate cultural entities have resulted in abject failure of the leading global institutions and system of governance worldwide provide insurmountable challenges and opportuni- ties to intellectuals and thinking people of the globe to understanding the critical crossroads for new fu- turistic endeavors. After WW2, those officials who articulated the visions, devised principles and val- ues of the global institutionalized governance lacked thinking of the phenomenon of Change and adapt- ability to the future. It is a major challenge to think of a Navigational Change to ensure that our common future is protected and sustainable as One Humanity living in co-existence on One Planet. The on-going catastrophic crises in Ukraine, Gaza and the Occupied West Bank parts of Palestine are urgent wake-up calls to human soul and imagina- tion as power corrupts power and all systems of po- Wars on Humanity: Ukraine, Palestine and the role of Global Leaders litical governance seem broken and dysfunctional to safeguard humanity. The global institutions, global leadership and systematic working of internation- al political affairs are managed by wrong thinking, wrong people and wrong priorities. None seem to have the capacity to further the cause of global hu- manity, peace, conflict resolution and security. The global humanity looks for change but there seems to be no systematic mechanism for integrated change to ensure continuity of encompassed human thoughts, hopes and ideals for tomorrow, the near future or distant future. Despite the sketchy illusions of free- dom, democracy, human rights, liberty and justice, we are encroached, stuffed and at terrible risk of an- nihilation more accidental and by error of judgment than planned scheme of things by Man against Man. The UNO shrunk to dead-ended spectacle and its failure to protect the 2.9 million civilian population in war zones - just a spectator and has no power to stop the Gaza war between Hamas and Israel and the US-Russian and other European leaders who are waging wars, killing human beings, destroying their moral and spiritual values of mankind so that a di- vided humanity would not forge a unity of purpose to survive against the ruthless authoritarian vices and Mahboob A. Khawaja, PhD. imposed ruins. If you were to question the economic lords of the world, they would deny doing anything illegal or wrong to humanity. lessons of history are ignored - people holding gospels in one hand have driven mankind to the in- sanity of the two World Wars with the other hand without an end in sight to the continued crimes against humanity. The prospects for the 21st cen- tury to be a different age of peace, understanding, reconciliation and harmony among the people of the globe are just passing illusions, crippled as- pirations, not the facts of life . Opinionated poli- tics and governance make institutionalized policies; facts of human life live in denials. Politics is a game of problems, pretensions and individualistic anarchy and exploitation. People, politics and institutions appear to be on a collision course imperiled by ex- ploitative economies, corrupt and incompetent lead- ership, austerity debts, poverty, and exclusion from governance. is there a new culture of thinking and emotions to bring mankind back to its originality of rationality, unity and co-existence to safeguard from the planned calamities of man against man and to ensure a sustainable future? The purpose of life is built-in in the nature of hu- man beings, it needs not to be invented but only to Wars on Humanity: Ukraine, Palestine and the role of Global Leaders be discovered as our own aim of life if we succeed in making this moral and intellectual discovery, it will greatly enhance our collaborative affinity to time, space and all other living things within the universe. God, the Creator of all things (seen or un- seen), made human beings the chief vicegerent on earth with defined role and responsibility. Those who violate the sanctity of life and earth would face the consequences of their wrong thinking. The denial and rejection of natural responsibility will put us in a constant situation of self-engineered conflicts and discords to all living things around us. That is what leads to violations of the sacred sanctity of life, hu- man freedom, dignity and makes us hypocritical transgressors in our own consciousness and external relations to others. George orwell said it right: “in a time of univer- sal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” The earth has 78% nitrogen, 21 % oxygen to maintain life and combustion engines working. There are insurmountable challenges stemming out of man’s systematic tyranny against man requir- ing constant challenge of intelligent adaptability – the idea man to share intelligent vision and new strategies towards future-making that only Man and Mahboob A. Khawaja, PhD. Humanity can imagine and articulate. Mankind is informed, and vigilant with a purpose and meaning for change and progress. How to safeguard the inter- ests of mankind and to ensure its survival from the known and unknown conspiracies, onslaughts, and extinction of life and be able to live in harmonized multi-polar global culture of peace, understanding and civilizations? The immense challenge and its on-going emerging critical implications deserve se- rious thinking and moral and intellectual ponder- ing from the thinking hubs of the concerned global mankind. There are serious gaps and critical issues involved in coercing the worldwide rational think- ing process to challenge the odd, ignorance and per- petuated wickedness unleashed by the systematic political organisms managed and controlled by the corporate media and the 1% elite super bugs - the nerve center of the global economic-military-indus- trial complexes affiliated to Political Party-run State governance. Man being the nucleus of the humanity, if he can evolve an inward thought and eye not just on business of economic survival but purpose of life with rational reflection to see his own origin, coming out of a drop in mother’s womb into a full fledged excellent Creation of God - complete system of func- tional human being- the Child of the Planet - the self-awareness and actualization is key to rethinking and reconnecting to the originality of Man. Wars on Humanity: Ukraine, Palestine and the role of Global Leaders If logic and reasoning are at the heart of contem- porary pursuits for a peaceful future, our analogical reasoning articulates plausible new ideas and creative adaptation to crystallize the prospects for a new im- agination of global unity and ultimate ideals of One Humanity to co-exist in peace and harmony within the splendid Universe. Unlike the exclusive materi- alistic approach, a balanced (material and spiritual factors) strategy to future-making and coping effec- tively with the problems of peace, security and con- flict resolution, the mankind would certainly need (1) a moral, intellectual and spiritual interpretation of relationship to the Universe (2) a comprehensive defined concept of the moral and spiritual freedom, rights and obligations of the man within the working of a state, and (3) imperatives of laws and protection of all forms of life from wars and destruction and spearheading the direction of human affairs, policies and practices for global unity of the mankind. The author offers intellectual foresight and ingenu- ity to surpass the standardized approaches to peace, security and conflict management, normal horizons of thoughts, traditional theories, academic lab tests, opinions and scenarios and envisaged operational fantasies, and passionate to groundbreaking specta- cles and creative initiatives into inquiring and facil- itating tangible framework of political imagination, Mahboob A. Could there be new emerging global political thinking as ev- ident in the political activism of the global citi- zenry that should be part of the agenda to per- ceive new visions to analyze and demonstrate creative solutions on issues of primary concerns to mankind. With massive corruption, egoistic, in- competent and tyrannical global political lead- ership across the industrialized West and the developing world, institutionalized indifference to the human basic needs and aspirations, cor- porate greed and need on rise, economic scruti- ny by the few 1% affluent ruling class against the 99% unrepresented masses, how would the world of tomorrow be relevant and compatible to the present and to the future?
