TEACHER'S DAY ANCHORING SCRIPT 1. Opening of the ceremony Adwait: “ गुरुर्ब्रह्मा गुरुर्विष्ुुः गुरुर्देवो महेश्वरुः । गुरुुः साक्षात् परर्ब्ह्म तस्मै श्र ीगुरवे नमुः ॥ ” Respected Principal Sir, esteemed teachers, and my dear friends — a very warm and graceful good morning to you all. On this auspicious occasion of Teachers ’ Day, we gather to honor the guiding lights of our lives — our teachers. Shristi: Truly said, Adwait. Teachers are not just educators, they are mentors, guides, and inspirers who shape our destiny with their wisdom and patience. Today, it is our privilege to express our heartfelt gratitude towards them through this humble celebration. 2. Lamp Lighting Shristi: To begin any auspicious event, we invoke the blessings of the divine. Light, as we all know, is a symbol of knowledge, wisdom, and prosperity. Adwait: Yes Shristi , just as a lamp removes darkness, the knowledge imparted by our teachers removes ignorance from our minds. Let us now commence our celebration with the Lamp Lighting Ceremony. I request our respected Principal Sir , our honorable teachers, and dignitaries present to kindly come forward and grace the occasion by lighting the lamp. (Pause for lamp lighting – background music plays softly.) Shristi : Thank you, Ma ’ am, and thank you respected teachers, for lighting the lamp of wisdom and beginning our celebration on such a divine note. 3.Ganesh Vandana Adwait: No program is complete without invoking the blessings of Lord Ganesha — the remover of obstacles and the symbol of wisdom. Shristhi: Absolutely. So, let us all join together in welcoming the divine presence with a soulful Ganesh Vandana. I now invite the performers on stage to present their beautiful prayer. (Ganesh Vandana performance happens.) Adwait: That was indeed a mesmerizing performance. May Lord Ganesha bless us all with knowledge, prosperity, and happiness. 4.Guru Vandana Shristhi: Adwait, as we all know, teachers hold a place even higher than the divine in our culture. A guru is not just someone who teaches, but someone who shapes the very character of a student. Adwait: Well said, Shristhi. Today, we are fortunate to witness a performance dedicated to our respected teachers — a heartfelt Guru Vandana, which is a symbol of our devotion, gratitude, and respect. Let us welcome our friends on stage for this special performance. (Guru Vandana happens.) Shristhi: What a heart - touching performance! Truly, words will never be enough to thank our teachers for the values they instill in us every single day 5.Games for the Teachers Adwait: Now comes a fun - filled segment of our program — a chance for our beloved teachers to relax, laugh, and enjoy themselves just as much as we do. Shristhi: Yes, dear teachers, this is your time! Let ’ s get ready for some exciting and entertaining games prepared especially for you. Adwait – 1. Balloon Pop "Now we’ll begin with our first game – Balloon Pop! Teachers, here’s how we’ll play: 1. Each participant will get a balloon tied to their ankle with a ribbon. 2. Once the game begins, your goal is to protect your own balloon while trying to pop others’ balloons by stepping on them. 3. You cannot use your hands – only your feet. 4. The last teacher whose balloon is still safe will be declared the winner. ( Wait for the game to end) 2. Pass the Ball "And now, something exciting – Pass the Ball! The rules for the games are - • All teachers will sit in a circle. • While the music plays, you’ll keep passing the ball around. • When the music stops, the teacher holding the ball must do a fun task we give them – like singing a line, dancing, or telling a joke! • The game continues until we’ve had lots of laughs and surprises. (Wait for the game to end) Shristi – 3. Musical Chairs "Thank you, Adwait! Now it’s time for our next fun game – Musical Chairs! The rules rules for the game are - 1. We’ll arrange chairs in a circle, with one chair fewer than the number of participants. 2. When the music starts, teachers will walk around the chairs. 3. The moment the music stops, quickly find a chair and sit down. 4. The teacher left standing without a chair will be out, and one chair will be removed. 5. The game continues until only one teacher is left seated – and that will be our winner! So let’s start (Wait for the game of end) 4. Pile Me Up (Notebook Relay Version) "And now, teachers, let’s play our special game – Pile Me Up! Here are the rules: 1. Teachers will be divided into two groups , each group standing in a straight line. 2. Each group will get 5 – 6 notebooks. 3. The first teacher in line will write their name in one notebook, then quickly pass it back to the teacher behind them. 4. That teacher will write their name and pass it further back, and so on, until the notebooks reach the last teacher in line 5. The last teacher must collect all the notebooks and run forward to place them on the table 6. The group that finishes first will be declared the winner. (Wait for the game to end) 5. Action Challenge "Now for our last game of the event – the Action Challenge! Here i s how you are going to play the game - • I’ll call out fun actions like jump, clap, spin, touch your toes, hop on one leg • Teachers must do the action as quickly as possible. • Anyone who’s slow or makes a mistake is out. • The last teacher standing will be the ultimate action master! (Wait for the game to end) Adwait : That was truly an enjoyable and lively segment. Our teachers surely deserve this joy for all the hard work they do for us. Shristi : Absolutely, Adwait. And now, moving ahead, it is time to honor our respected teachers with a small token of love and appreciati on.
