DRAFTS 20 r/AshaDegree three independent witnesses - three truckers 44/300 Post Images & Video Link Poll i think it's important to note that there were " three independent witnesses" in total: ruppe and an unidentified motorist, both of whom called LE monday night. then there are the blantons who did not hear asha was missing until tuesday night, then reported to LE on wednesday after returning from chicago: Thursday 2/17/2000 - The elder Blanton didn't think anything else of it until 10 p.m. Tuesday , when he talked to his wife on the phone from Chicago and she told him about the missing girl. Blanton returned from Chicago late Wednesday afternoon and reported his sighting to sheriff's deputies at their command post, Mulls Memorial Baptist Church, near Asha's home. (the charlotte observer) but by monday night, two sightings had been called in to LE: one from jeff ruppe and a second from a "motorist" who has never been publicly named or identified: Tuesday 2/15/2000 - As of 9 p.m. Monday night , Sheriff Dan Crawford said the only clues police have to go on are two reports from motorists who were on Highway 18 around 4 a.m. Monday morning. He said the reports came in late Monday afternoon *. "One Sundrop truck driver and another motorist have called since they saw that she was missing on television, and told officers that they saw a girl walking on the road about that time," Crawford said. ( the shelby star) Wednesday 2/16/2000 - Sheriff Dan Crawford said the only people who may have seen Asha were a truck driver and another motorist , who both told police they saw a girl matching Asha's description walking south Monday around 4 a.m. on Highway 18, near the Highway 180 intersection... "What happened after those two drivers saw her, we just have no idea. ( the shelby star) Thursday 2/17/2000 - " Two motorists see a girl who matches Asha's description on Highway 18, 1.2 miles south of the Degree home near the intersection of Highway 180, at 3:45 a.m. and 4:15 a.m. Crawford said the motorists did not call police until about 5 p.m. Monday , after seeing on television that the girl was considered missing." (source) we know that asha ran away from ruppe, a possible indication that she wasn't willingly hopping in random vehicles with random people. so if she willingly got into a car it would be with someone she felt she could trust, which then could be seen as indication that she may have intended to meet them that night. but who could get her to trust them enough to voluntarily go along? there was a third sighting that night. according to the "find our missing" episode, he was a trucker and (according to asha's father) he had a daughter who attended asha's school and was in the same grade as asha. most people aren't even aware of this third sighting, and i think it is primarily because that witness was never named or identified publicly. unlike ruppe and blanton, the details of this account was never made public by the media, likely because LE didn't release that witness's name or story to the media. looking back, i'm beginning to wonder why? why was that witness kept under wraps? could LE have been suspicious of him? if he had a daughter in asha's school in the same grade, is it possible he is the perp? could he have lured asha out using his daughter? given that he is a trucker and the green car confiscated by LE yesterday was kept a home the belongs to a family who owned a trucking business - i have to wonder if these dots all connect.
