Continuing its developments would secure much of the upcoming innovation and prosperity and it would underpin the sustainable growth in economic values and volumes needed in the future. Future Internet infrastructures research is therefore a must. The Future Internet Assembly (FIA) is a successful conference that brings together participants of over 150 research projects from several distinct yet interrelated areas in the European Union Framework Programme 7 (FP7). The research projects are grouped as follows: the network of the future as infrastructure connecting and orchestrating the future Internet of people, computers, devices, content, clouds and things; cloud computing, Internet of Services and advanced software engineering; the public-private partnership projects on Future Internet; Future Internet Research and Experimentation (FIRE). The 26 full papers included in this volume were selected from 45 submissions. They are organized in topical sections named: software driven networks, virtualization, programmability and autonomic management; computing and networking clouds; internet of things; and enabling technologies and economic incentives.

What is it like to be a young Muslim man in post-7/7 Britain, and what impact do wider political factors have on the multifaceted identities of young Muslim men? Drawn from the author’s ethnographic research of British-born Muslim men in the English town of Luton, Being Young, Male and Muslim in Luton explores the everyday lives of the young men and, in particular, how their identity as Muslims has shaped the way they interact with each other, the local community and the wider world.

Through a study of religious values, the pressures of masculinity, the complexities of family and social life, and attitudes towards work and leisure, Ashraf Hoque argues that young Muslims in Luton are subverting what it means to be ‘British’ through consciously prioritising and re-articulating self-confessed ‘Muslim identities’ in novel and dynamic ways that suit their experiences as a post-colonial diaspora. Employing extensive participant observation and rich interview content, Hoque paints a detailed picture of young Muslims living in a town consistently associated in the popular media with terrorist activity and as a hotbed for radicalisation. He challenges widely held assumptions about cultural segregation, gender relations and personal liberty in Muslim communities, and gives voice to an emerging generation of Muslims who view Britain as their home and are very much invested in the long-term future of the country and their permanent place within it. 
This short and accessible book will be of interest to students seeking grounding in Islam and Muslim communities in diaspora, and scholars from an array of social science and humanities backgrounds including Anthropology, Sociology of Religion, Political Science, Urban Studies and Cultural Studies.

Jewish Religion After Theology ponders one of the most intriguing shifts in modern Jewish thought: from a metaphysical and theological standpoint toward a new manner of philosophizing based primarily on practice. Different chapters study this great shift and its various manifestations. The central figure of this new examination is Isaiah Leibowitz, whose thoughts encapsulate more than any other Jewish thinker this stance of religion without metaphysics. In vielen Industrieländern sind in den vergangenen Jahren die <BR> Gesundheitsausgaben deutlich angestiegen. Kostendämpfungsmaßnahmen waren oft die Folge. Mit Blick auf andere Branchen überrascht dies, da zunächst keine Argumente gegen einen Anstieg der Gesundheitsausgaben vorgebracht werden können, wenn die so finanzierten Gesundheitsleistungen effizient erbracht werden und den Präferenzen der Bevölkerung entsprechen. Vor diesem Hintergrund ist es Ziel der Arbeit, auf theoretischer und empirischer Ebene die Determinanten der Gesundheitsausgaben zu untersuchen und der Frage nachzugehen, inwieweit Gesundheitsausgaben einen Beitrag zur Gesundheit der Bevölkerung leisten. Es zeigt sich, dass eine reine Betrachtung des Gesundheitssektors unter Kostendämpfungsaspekten nicht gerechtfertigt ist.

Im Mittelpunkt stehen die Effekte, die von der europäischen Integration auf das deutsche Gesundheitswesen und hier insbesondere auf die gesetzliche Krankenversicherung (GKV) sowie auf die einzelnen Gesundheitsmärkte ausgehen. Weitere thematische Schwerpunkte bilden integrierte Versorgungsstrukturen sowie ausgewählte Finanzierungsalternativen im Rahmen der GKV. Der Teilnehmerkreis setzte sich aus Vertretern der Ärzteschaft, der Krankenkassen und -versicherungen, der pharmazeutischen Industrie, der Wissenschaft, der Ministerialbürokratie und der Politik zusammen.
