An American in Paris at the turn of the nineteenth century, John Durham pays court to an old flame, Fanny Frisbee, now married to the dissolute Marquis de Malrive. Das Vertrauen von Patienten und Probanden ist eine unverzichtbare Voraussetzung für den Erfolg medizinischer Forschungsprojekte, die ohne die Erhebung, langfristige Speicherung und Analyse von klinischen Daten und Proben nicht durchgeführt werden können. Medizinische Forschung arbeitet heute überwiegend vernetzt in zunehmend größeren Forschungsverbünden. Entsprechend nimmt auch die Bedeutung von Datenschutz und Datensicherheit immer weiter zu. Die TMF hat bereits 2003 erstmals generische Datenschutzkonzepte für medizinische Forschungsverbünde veröffentlicht. Auf dieser Basis konnten zahlreiche Forschungsprojekte ihre Datenschutzkonzepte schneller erarbeiten und abstimmen. Die dabei gewonnenen Erfahrungen sind in die grundlegende Überarbeitung der generischen Konzepte eingeflossen. So trägt das neue Konzept der Vielschichtigkeit medizinischer Forschungsprozesse durch einen modularen Aufbau Rechnung und wurde zudem in einen umfassenden Leitfaden eingebettet.This book is made open access as part of the Knowledge Unlatched KU Open Services

The objective of this study is to provide an account of the terminology the European Union has created and used with regard to its development cooperation policy since the Treaty of Rome was signed in 1957. For this purpose, a terminological analysis has been conducted, based on a corpus of texts produced by the EU in this domain. A corpus-based approach to terminology has been chosen as it opens up the possibility to gather both conceptual and linguistic as well as usage information about the terminological units. Moreover, it allows the study of terms in the context of communicative situations and enables the analysis of concordances that can be used to reveal possible ideological aspects of the terminology involved. The book not only provides a detailed and comprehensive report on the status quo of the EU’s terminology in this field. It also reflects the evolution of its terminology since the establishment of a common European development cooperation policy and thus against the background of an ever-changing socio-economic and political situation. The findings are meant to contribute to a better knowledge and understanding of European development cooperation policy as well as to help improve communication between professionals in European and national bodies.

A lo largo de estas pginas se hace un recorrido cronolgico por las principales expresiones de la poltica cultural desarrollada por el Instituto Cubano de Cine hacia Amrica Latina, desde inicios de la dcada del sesenta hasta finales del siglo XX. A partir del anlisis de los filmes Cumbite (1964, Toms Gutirrez Alea), Cantata de Chile (1975, Humberto Sols), Amor en campo minado (1987, Pastor Vega) y Mascar, el cazador americano (1991, Constante Rapi Diego), se ejemplifican los hitos ms destacados de esta poltica y los proyectos ideolgicos que les dieron sustento. Se estudia adems un conjunto de obras de Santiago Álvarez, considerado el exponente ms significativo de la documentalstica poltica cubana. Historiar las relaciones entre el ICAIC y Amrica Latina permite profundizar en una lectura compleja de los vnculos exteriores de la Revolucin Cubana, en especfico lo concerniente a las interrelaciones entre actores e instituciones. El objetivo ltimo de este libro es aportar en la construccin de un relato crtico de la cultura cubana posterior a 1959, con respecto a Latinoamrica.

Obwohl in fiskalföderalen Systemen Konsens über die Vorteilhaftigkeit der dezentralen Bereitstellung öffentlicher Güter besteht, zeigen sich große Unterschiede bei der Ausgestaltung von Finanzausgleichssystemen. Diese Unterschiede werden hier aus dem Blickwinkel der Anreizwirkungen analysiert. Dabei zeigt sich, dass die Anreizwirkungen wesentlich von der Informationsverteilung zwischen den Akteuren abhängen. Das Buch diskutiert sowohl die «Theorien der ersten Generation» ohne Informationsasymmetrien und unter Annahme eines wohlmeinenden Sozialplaners, als auch die «Theorien der zweiten Generation» mit Informationsasymmetrien und eigennützig handelnden Akteuren. Auf Grundlage dieser Erkenntnisse wird abschließend ein anreizeffizienter Finanzausgleich bei Informationsasymmetrie entworfen.

Ausgehend von einer allgemeinen Übersicht des US-amerikanischen Steuerrechts in Bezug auf Finanzierungen ist die steuerliche Abgrenzung zwischen Eigen- und Fremdkapital bei hybriden Finanzierungsinstrumenten in den Vereinigten Staaten zentrales Thema der Arbeit. Zusätzlich wird eine detaillierte Analyse steuerlicher Rechtsfolgen anhand von in den USA ermittierten Instrumenten wie DECS, MIPS, PHONES und PRIDES geboten. Abschließend wird die Frage nach grenzüberschreitenden steuerlichen Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten gestellt, die unter Umständen eine Doppelbesteuerung vermeiden oder eventuell gar zu einer doppelten Nichtbesteuerung führen könnten.
