About Oxum NYC Oxum NYC ceramics are individually made using either hand-building or slip casting techniques. The vessels become the canvases to explore surface ex- pressions by applying ancient clay slips that trace back to the Minoan civilization, approximately 2,600 BC, during the bronze age. We use English porcelain, coveted for its translucent properties, lightweight, and durability, and fire it in energy- conserving electric kilns at 2,232F. The clays, slips, and glazes are custom made in-house in our studio Niovi Forbes, Owner Inspired by the age-old tradition of coming together at the dinner table, Oxum NYC line of ceramics and home accessories is de- signed with the intension to be shared with your family and friends during your daily rituals.
