This is coming along beautifully. Yes, platforms like ChatGPT and Perplexity are fantastic to get us moving foundationally or when we are stuck! I’ve added some suggestions using edit tracking, if you would like to take a look. Question – as we think about becoming a non-profit, what questions haven’t we asked that we should? For example, asking if they are a non-profit? Indicating that, if selected, they would need to provide W-9? I’m not sure if we need to—just asking for the sake of discussion and insight from others who are far more insightful than me Best, Sandy Sandra Lackner Associate Vice President for Student Affairs Isothermal Community College Rutherford Campus, Student Center 7K P.O. The applications would be vetted by the LR Board, and presented to the class to choose from. This would accomplish a couple of things. First, it would help spread awareness about LR because local organizations would recognize us as a resource for them (like a grant-giving organization). Second, it would help narrow the scope of the projects that the class needs to choose from. Third, it would prevent class members who have an (for lack of a better word) “agenda” from presenting a project for their own agency, only to be disappointed and hurt when their agency’s project is not chosen. Justin can describe this better, but that is a quick overview. I offered to create an application for the organizations, and here it is. I got some help from Emily Wood (Mosaic Hope Director) because I had never used ChatGPT but HOLY COW it is so helpful!! We entered our criteria into the site, and this is what came up (attached application). Review the application and tell me what you think and what needs to be changed. Here is the criteria we entered: Leadership Rutherford is an organization in Rutherford County, NC. Their mission is to create an annual program that identifies, engages, and empowers diverse community leaders to use their skills and energy in service to benefit Rutherford County, North Carolina. Each year, there is a cohort of individuals from all sectors of the county. The cohort chooses a service project to complete on the behalf of a local organization. The goal of the service project is to contribute the overall welfare of Rutherford County. Examples of past service projects includes: raising money to purchase a box truck for the local Backpack Food Resource Program that serves K-12 students in the county; raising money and awareness for mental health on behalf of a nonprofit counseling center; and building a toolshed for the local community garden. Each year the cohort considers different organizations and projects they may have, and they choose one to complete. Things to consider when choosing a service project includes benefit to the community; sustainability of the project; amount of money needed to complete the project; and the timeline it takes to complete the project. Cohorts usually select the project in October; and then the project must be completed by May of the very next year. To help with the selection process, Leadership Rutherford would like to create an application for organizations to complete about project they could use help with or that they would like to see happen. Can you create an application for organizations to complete? 9/8/26, 12:31 PM Mail - Kelly Lovelace - Outlook https://outlook.office.com/mail/id/AAkALgAAAAAAHYQDEapmEc2byACqAC%2FEWg0A6Q9aw42rwEuzSUaUq%2FUnowAIBX4zlQAA 3/4 CAUTION : This email originated from outside of the Isothermal domain.
