Take a Break Take a Break 32 33 Our Lives Over the last year we’ve all missed seeing our family and friends — and giving them a squeeze. But with the restrictions easing you’ve been sharing your photos of those precious reunion cuddles! Hugs are back! Edited by Jean Jollands. Email tab.jean@bauermedia.co.uk Sister act My sister Maeve, 24, and I are really close. So being able to hug her and her gorgeous dog Dill again felt amazing. Melina Guiney, 26, of Rathmines, Dublin Besties! My little boy Zack, two, was reunited with his pal Nova on a play date at a trampoline park. They were joined at the hip all day! Carrie Moore, 29, of Basildon, Essex I missed you! I snapped this photo of my daughter Iara, 14, and her uncle Fabrizio, 41, finally meeting up again in beautiful Surrey Quays. She came straight from school and it made her day. Valeria David, 45, of Wimbledon, London Hello Mum! Here’s me flinging my arms around my mum June, 78, as soon as she walked through the door! It felt so good to give her a great big hug. Claire Hattrick, 53, of Andover, Hants Cuddle time! My son Elliot, two, couldn’t wait to give his grandad Kevin, 62, a huge hug. And, as you can see from my dad’s face, it meant the world to him too! Elizabeth Lawson, 28, of Hoxne, Suffolk A precious moment After a year apart my mam Debra, 51, finally got to visit my nana June, 79, in her care home. Nana has dementia, so Mam was worried she wouldn’t recognise her. But she did — and she laughed at Mam for crying! Jodie Kenny, 28, of Washington, Tyne & Wear Hugs all round This snap of my twin sister Rosie hugging our Uncle Johnny, 81, captures perfectly how much we’ve all missed being together. Catherine Togut, 49, of Wimbledon, London We meet at last! This is the moment my mam Angela, 56, and my dad Ray, 57, met my 11-week-old son Leo, for the first time. He’d been in hospital with meningitis and sepsis but Covid restrictions meant none of our family could visit. But he’s home now and you can see how thrilled his doting Nanna and Granda were to give him a cuddle. Rachill McClelland, 32, of Newcastle upon Tyne Three is the magic number! It melted my heart to see this little threesome back together. My son Thomas, four, on the right, has really missed his cousins Jacob, seven, and Jaxon, four. But as you can see, it was like they’d never been apart! Nicola Warham, 40, of Shavington, Cheshire Mum’s the word I couldn’t wait to give my mum Irene, 77, a squeeze. Although I’ve been able to see her it’s been at a distance. I’m her only child, so it’s been really tough on both of us. This wonderful moment was much needed and long overdue!
