September 2018 Non - Collection of Children Policy Purpose In the event that a child is not collected by an authorised adult at the end of a school session/day, Spring Pre - School puts into practice the following procedures. These ensure the child is cared for safely by experienced qualified staff. Procedures Parents/guardians of children are asked to provide specific information which is recorded on a Registration Form, including: Home address, home telephone number and mobile telephone number. If applicable place of work, address and telephone number. Information about any person who does not have legal access to the child. On occasions when persons normally authorised to collect the child are not able to collect the child, the persons name and telephone number mu st be recorded in the daily log. We agree with parents/guardians a “pass - word” if we do not know the person who is to collect the child. Parents/guardians not able to collect the child as planned, must inform the school as soon as possible so back - up pro cedures can be put in place. We will inform the parents/guardians in the event staff can no longer supervise the child in our premises, child protection procedures as set out in out Child Protection Policy will be followed. September 2018 If the child is not collec ted at the end of the session/day, the following procedures will be followed. Check information about collection in daily log. If no information is found, contact parents/guardians at home or work. If unsuccessful, the adults who are authorised by parents /guardians to collect their child and whose telephone numbers are recorded on the Registration Form will be contacted. If this is unsuccessful a member of staff will visit the child’s home. The child will stay with two fully - vetted members of staff until t he child is safely collected. The child will not leave the school with anyone other than those named on the Registration Form. If no - one collects the child and the premises are closing or staff are no longer available to care for the child, we will apply t he procedures set out in out Safeguarding Policy. Local authority social services department, Ofsted, and our local Pre - School Learning Alliance Office/Department Worker will be contacted. A full written report of the incident will be completed.
