Folligulation of Time Travel folligulation definition: folig-u-lashun -to theorise poorly and invent the physics that already exist to enable the invention of something otherwise almost-impossible. Inventing the physics of time becomes a useful application in consideration of future Time Travel. The capacity to invent what does not exist in an attempt to pursue the spheres that are explicitly interesting. “Building the Time Machine” has larger consideration in what the machine`:vehicle means with regard to my pursuit, and what it is to move through time. Unravelling an assumed structure and disman- tling the ordinary assumption of what time is and how I, personally, am placed within this structure, widens my form of escape. Revisit- ing areas of my life using the principles of Circular Time and Collateral Time will be valuable experiments - in making instruments in order to practise these physics. Deeply believing in what is described within, having utter belief in complete nonsense will create a bridge of expanded practise that was unrevealed or unconsidered when initially beginning. The vehicular understanding, the interac- tion, and the machine take forms of wider things. The experiences are non-specific, perhaps not even real. It is through these fictions that my work can materialise. I have explained the mechanics of time as understood by myself only. Articulate ambiguity in explanation, words on words that have no “real” science. Having considered “real science” and deciding how useful and applicable it could potentially be, but still moving through fictional-science. There is a rebellion against the understood science, of which has felt significant - increasingly so - in the invention of something [the Time Machine] that still remains a mystery within science and within fiction. A challenge to the orthodox - the scientific paradigms of thoughts on time. Abstract 1 Inventions and blueprints maximise on the nonsense of perception. The nonsense I have created, in itself has become a machine for building my own machine. With this, it must be understood that everything is intentional. The capitalisation of key phrases, words, and action, create in themselves the infrastructure and method in the building of The Machine. This will all become coded into fabric-hyper-reality of realities that do not exist. The Elephant has to be considered in capital for it to exist in the form of Time Travel. PERTITIVE must be block-capital for it to be the real definition of an invented term, or the invention of this becomes void. Everything is with intention. It is only in accordance with the considered fictional conditions, that I have created and articulated something that can substantiate the construction or even just the existence of The Machine. So, again, this report is the blueprint for The Machine. Everything of nonsense will become a formal structure, eventually becoming what I aim to create. The topology and geometries explain my own science, which in turn will enable the progression with The Machine itself. Every element of poetry flows between a continuum that has also be considered. The invention and progress of The Machine will follow the invention of structures throughout. Not meant to be implicit or explicit- ly understood, but forming in and of themselves, the science of enabling the manufacturing of ‘something’ that does not exist anyway. Although formulated and developed on through a meandering process of invention - the applicable philosophies and sciences follow extensive research patterns. Everything that has been fabricated will have appropriate means for existence. Even in the chaos and the order. 2 At most and at happiest, time becomes an awful affair. Thoughtfully. One cannot become the traveller of time without denying first, the existence of time. It is not wrong in a world of wire-haired water-animals and hair horned-grass eaters for there to be another underlying, perhaps even exciting existence. The world where you can run across an Olympic sized custard-pool and scream into a jam- jar, closed tightly then, that could maybe, one day, scream back at you. If you can believe this, then plausibil- ity cannot matter to you greatly, or either. It cannot be against reason when the answer to which has to be “what reason?” (Wells, 1895). Time is the tick, tick, tick . Not exclusively but almost entirely under- stood, the tick, tick, tick explains only the sound of the proposed time and yet the sound is evocative of losing ones-self in the expulsion of productivity when in consideration of the tick, tick, tick . The proposition would be – how can time be reassessed through nonsensical and fabricated thought-sciences. In attempt to validate the pursuit of time-travel, we must first understand time as though it cannot unravel, but then, maybe it can. Not to be observed but, I suppose, can be observed. Time as only some- thing of participation. In consideration of Time, there must also be consideration of memory. Many arguments situate themselves on the ideals of moving through action and thought in creation of new memories. It is through the re-visitation of these memories that Time Travel has been thought to exist - consider the deja vu... or, maybe do that later in the future. It has been persuasively argued, that memory is constructed through experiences of time. If there were to be an understanding that time, and experience of time, is equal to the production of memory [when in consideration of the standardised human capacity of ability to create, sustain and recall memory], there is still the potential that memory is not the only matter. Memory will not be the sole pursuit - although mentioned. Understand that this is not a memory exercise. This is an attempt at Time Travelling. 1. The 60 Minute Makeover The nonsensical and completely scientific assessment and re-evalua- tion of the metaphysics of time in an attempt to explain and validate time-travel as a non-fictional pursuit; all in pursuit of building The Machine. 3 Perhaps matter can b e accessed as matter and explained through t ime. Vo mit, v iscous, unforgiving a nd substance of m any substances, i n itself, contains e nough science a nd enough fiction, for it in its true noun, to be again, Time Travel. Regretfully, there is no expulsion - only argument. In a fantastical w orld w here fantasy still n eeds to exist, t he realms o f being expands a s the cellophane cover on a hot-pot o f leftovers. The expansion, t he c ondensation, t he sweat a nd t he fall. The clingfilm warps, unbecoming o f its own self, transforms then through dimensional existence t o take new form o f what never existed. The wrinkled, thinned, sweating wall of plastic. Maybe even this, is time travel. Maybe it is not 4 2. Forgetting The One Elephant ...>>... Two Elephant There is a linear, standardised, regimented mode of “time”, in which we observe whilst moving through something unchangeable and omnipotent. Time structures us (and vice-versa) cannot exist when a day is 24 hours +/- seconds or minutes. This mechanical observation can again and always be observed through machine cogs, iron and steel interaction with teeth on teeth and tick, tick, tick . Forget this. If the Standard International unit of time states that a “second” is radiation frequency of Caesium-133. The number - or would it be unit - or however something can be measured before it itself is used as the measurement - being 9,192,631,770. The nonsense of this formulated idea has to exist before the second, yet, has always existed. Revise the time before the second, or if considering the time after then know that the second still cannot be played when in the pursuit of The Time Machine. The Machine will only work when the second is gone. Not gone as in past, but gone as left. As cease to exist. Or caesium to exist. If I can. CAESIUM -133 All symbols and letters and numbers of which [and we talk caesium-133] add up to eleven, which is one short of twelve. Twelve becoming the months in one year. By which is another measurement that is entirely useless in the production of The Machine. Parallel to this logic, there is no logic. Caesium exists, existed before the assessment on the power of radiation to be the international unit, then we can again, lay it dormant and reform the understanding that perhaps the continuum that wraps itself up in us, and us in it. “She waited, as the instructions said, counting, “one elephant, two elephant” [Gould, 2005]. 5 If we are forgetting the second, then we must also forget The Elephant. The Elephant represents one second, as popular counting technique is displayed. This breaks down the speed and human-assumption of the second and transforms it into a quasi-accurate method of free-form counting. This action of counting laments the idea of linearity of time. And absorbs itself into the inner-lining of the walls of existence. This compliance will not enable time-travel. If one second is equal to 1/86,400 of a day, then ignore 86,400 of them. A day can not exist here. Moving along only in the treadmill that can run multi-directional and not at all. This is where Time Travel begins. Forget it. Tick, tick, tick no longer exists. When you are told to count the seconds just believe that time has passed and move with that anyway. Forget the elephants, know that they forget least. Measured productivity – what it means to measure by seconds. Suppose that “time” is a measurement, what variables are being measured? Hold the trunk of the elephant and wrap yourself around and around until the spiralling despair of being encased is too much. Forget counting the One Elephant, allow the Elephant o f time to b e the upwards, downwards, sideways, s pirals a nd bumps, grooves and wrinkles. There i s no O ne Elephant. Exist now without the bindings of measured time. Only when you consider the plasticity of ‘measured time’ and how ‘measured’ does not exist, can you progress on to be an Agent of time. Passing through circles, collateral explosions and squiggles. Suppose that time cannot exist as regimented power, or as standard tick, tick, tick – second by second, one elephant two elephant. The unwinding of the truth of time-travel, unpicking the standard to become something far beyond – the unravelled. Through these spaces time travel is enabled, forgetting the time at which you smell something that engages warfare of where, when. It lies above, levitates itself over the rationality of time and every standard progress of what you have been taught forever of five past t he h ands. The only hands i n time travel are w hat you can l ook down on and hold objects with, interact with, maybe. “Time” is argued lucid, yet structured. In principle that fire is perhaps all or none of liquid, gas and solid. The un-argued notion that the clock is one entity, the truest machine of time. The trusted seconds to minutes to hours – taught “one elephant” is comparable to a true second as told by the cogs that run underneath sheet plastic of the £3.00 clock bought from the £1 store. The second cannot exist. Second being that of time, not as following One. 6 3. Shapes of Time Primary Instance of time – the variation on how Time can be experi- enced. Is Time a River, or an Arrow? The Primary Instance describes the origin of an experience – the Alpha. Example: Birth. If Birth becomes a Primary Instance, then what connects Birth onwards? Primary Instance can only exist in one shape of Time: The Collateral - vomit. Time as Often Circular Michio Kaku, Einstein “Time is a river. It speeds up, meanders, and slows down”. In Kaku’s adaptation of Einstein’s understanding of time, there is a perceived element of eventuality – as all rivers must run to the sea, all time must eventually run into something much larger. Even through this understanding of time, there is also assumed linearity. If rivers must run to the sea, they must follow the structured – yet not necessarily linear meaning front to back, path of natural environment in attempt of reaching this state of “completion” or “arrival”. In Circular Time, there is no Primary Instance [P1]. Revis- ing and repetition. The sphere of opposing – the line of progress of the time traveller through “space”. Space here becoming not separate from time/experience, but accumula- tive to all. Ignoring the 4th dimension - allowing time to exist alongside as entity. If Time is Circular, there has to be acknowledgement of the perpetual, the looping. [the clock face – why we see time represented as a physical circle and how we can understand time as a sphere we can throw around, avoid, stand on, crush. – or maybe the sphere is too heavy for any action, but it allows itself to be a participant in the conscious interaction of movement through time. You can touch time? Can you touch time? For the first time. Time is a ball. Or many balls. Thrown all at once or all at one time, the overlap is what exists, traced and formed in the crossover. 7 C1 C1 C2 [Figure 1] [Figure 2] If C in this figure is equal to Circular, C1 and C1 interact and in themselves create C2. Two variables overlapping in these Circles of time become a time-travel unit. This C2 is a lapse into fragments and creation – moving through the circles of time and latching on in form of “time present and time past... both perhaps present in time future / and time future contained in time past.” [Eliot, 1936]. In respect, circular time competes with notions of repetition almost exclusively. The dependency on circular time `: repetitive action creates in an of itself, the principle of PERTITIVE Time Travel. The action - thought`:action - thought as recurring instances. PERTITIVE (Time Travel) Adjective 1. Mode of Time Travel. Following physics of Circular Time. The action and thought in repetitive motion becomes the same motion, circles of time collide in creation of movement through time. e.g. Walking the same route home every day – becomes the same action. Circular times act in the same way but colliding. These same instances at different times creates another instance of time. Demonstrating the interaction between instances and the collision of what this might mean: all in time-space, all experienced at different times but in the same space. This is PERTITIVE Time Travel. Not to be confused with Partitive. Which still, partially informs. Note that - PERTITIVE Time Travel can only be described in full capitalisation when in written form. For PERTITIVE Time Travel happens if, and only if the same action is performed on the same site. The time at which, or when this happens, does not need to be the same. Accentuation of letters must parallel the repetition. The Machine must have this information. 8 9 Proust displays the action of PERTITIVE Time Travel magnificently in the Remembrance of Things Past, “this unremembered state which brought with it no logical proof of its existence... it was a real state in whose presence other states of consciousness melted and vanished. I attempt to make it reappear. I retrace my thoughts to the moment at which I drank the first spoonful of tea”. [Proust, 1913] here visits the [C1], narrating the attempt of again, visiting [C1]. This endless loop of activity provides the emotional strcuture of Circular Time. The emotional thought and intent action of revisiting the nostalgia of a time past becmes the time present. Through this, PERTITIVE Time Travel takes place. How can cake and tea form circles of time, or perhaps the surface you eat off of? Does the circular plate become the circular clock and is that in and of itself a structure of [C1] becoming a standard of [C2]? The action`:experience is formulaic in motions of Circular Time. Any experience can form the same experience of, but will exist across other Circular Time spheres. [See: Figure 1&2]. Having paralleled variables of Travel is necessary for The Machine’s function. If Time Travel becomes possible, then input --> output may also have varied directional possibilities. PERTITIVE Time Travel cannot exist alone when Time is to be travelled through carefully and with assessment of other experiences of movement through Time. Here follows: TIME AS COLLATERAL: The Time Spew In order for time to exist as collateral, there has to be an origin. This origin is the Primary Instance of time, or the [P1]. See: [introduction to Shapes of Time]. The Primary Instance bastardises the idea of Newtoni- an time, in which Time can only move through Space. Described poetically as the arrow of time. Much in the same way that the [P1] must exist for the collateral shape of time to exist. Newtonian Time proposes that time exists under linear narrative, as if only in forward motion. Paradoxically, the collateral/explosive shape of time explains that arrows can move in all directions from the [P1], attaching to other arrows of time, and through, and beyond. Time moves through space in the same way that vomit splatters in on itself, outside of itself. The arrows of these times collide in different instances of occupied space – thus memory forms, and interaction with previous and future memories take place. Present memory may exist but will always fall into instances of the past; present memory may also not exist if always falling into instances of the past. The movement performed in current time can be accessed in an arrow that has already left – this in itself becomes Time Travel. Visually, these arrows are nothing but vomit. A splat. This vomit splat collateral mess of arrows takes form around existing structures. Humankind has voided consciousness in the creation of transport, assimilating to the principles of the concerning matter: Time Vomit. Collaterally. 10 Washington — O r eg on — C alif ornia. Newtonian arrow to arrow, linear time moving through space. This fabrication was never under the idea that the state system runs like a thick line of bile, exiting the nostrils of anxiety. Spewing from itself, collaterally, in form of: Wash ing t on /~ -] Or eg on,,,,, , Wyoming ? ?C ol orado —- no, maybe Idaho? Cali — For ——nia The proposal, therefore, becomes an attempt at scratching smears of dried yolk across a plate that did not house the egg to begin with. Where did the yolk come from - transferred from another plate? A larger plate? Or the frying pan, maybe. Yet, still needs to be scratched, unearthed, filtered down into a new space. Clogged in the plug of a kitchen sink where the basin leaks from a loose piece of tape that should not have been there to begin with. Yet, all connected, only because the vomit touched everything first to begin with. [Figure 3] 11 The shape that is: The Interstate System, United States. Perhaps Eisenhower [as responsible for commissioning the construction of the Interstate System] lived narrowly in spheres of time, attaching himself to the collateral panic of the “no escape”. Maybe, I suppose, the origin of the Interstate System materialised through the anxiety of going nowhere at all - perhaps, in effect, exactly what became to be: nowhere to go but everywhere, like arrows of time. The relance on state-to-state connection also relies on the idea that the States run in linear form of: The interstate system of the USA becomes the perfect replica of Collateral Time – The Time Spew. The interstate system is a conversion of physical travel to Time Travel. This overlap demon- strates the fragments of arrows between time and space – it is within this that Time Travel takes place. The arrows crossing and flowing in systematic chaos, a sticky mess of signs, roads, vehicles. The roads become the quicksand in time, sludge. Spew, dotted, splattered. Overlaps of miscommunication, non-directional arrows shooting towards and ending somewhere far different on tangent of possibility. Splattering vomit on the walls of the public bathroom is notion of splattering roads into roads on soils of earth. Soil the earth with vomit, and in this vomit, roads will form and things will travel. Maybe even travel through time. This blip in the directional arrow of movement through space, thus time, is known as “The wrong way concurrency”. The occurrence of which happens through many instances of traffic coordination, found throughout the Interstate Map. All roads must lead, and follow, and lead again. Found between Wytheville and Fort Chiswell, Virginia : I-81 North and I-77 South, as are I-81 South and I-77 North. All road signs for the same direction. This is vomit. Different arrows, same collaterally. Interacting and colliding in collateral form. As again, vomit splatters. [Figure 4] 12 The road signs for the same direction on different Interstate Systems depicts entirely, the idea that [PI], being primary instance, or example in context being: Interstate I-77, has to follow on to another state highway. Thus leading in the same directional flow as an entirely separate [PI]. The arrows are splintering across the roads and forming in themselves, a Goliath of Time Travel activity. This is without mention of crossing time zones, which of course, cannot be mentioned if previously forgetting time is valuable in pursuit of The Machine. If it were to be mentioned, it could be as fantastical as Umberto Eco illustrated, and in that, perhaps we are all 180 degrees longitude, crossing International Date Lines. Perhaps again, none of us are. Perceive time as a viscous, sticky mess. The non-newtonian law of a Newtonian explanation of time. The more you run across barriers of forward and backward projection, the more you travel sideways. Hold the same end of the sticky vom- it-mess as the person next to you and find yourself both saturated. You are sharing time-vomit – in turn, memory. The spew will travel in varied direction, independ- ent from each other when left in the slimed mess of one instance. Time is vomit. Spew. Spew. 13 14 To reiterate, one might be more familiar with “No man ever steps in the same river twice” [Heraclitus]. If both shapes were to be described plainly, there is an offer of simple method. Both time shapes. or “Shapes of Time” if perfectly acknowledged, exist to both agree and disagree on principle. If the same river is stepped in at different time instances, then by Circular Time, it has the potential to be the same river but under the [C2] instance. The conditions of Circular Time, particularly PERTI- TIVE Time Travel, offer the true conditions in which one (or “man” in this instance) can travel through time, PERTITIVELY. The same action, performed at the same site, at a different time: matches the conditions of Circular Time. Under the Collateral understanding of time, “man” can revisit the same river and perform the same action, but it will be the collateral spew of arrowed time. The instance will not be the same, and Time Travel will be performed under the collision of arrows from the Primary Instance [PI] of stepping into the river originally. These are the principles of the Shapes of Time. Both TIme as Circular, and Time as Collateral. 4. The Squiggle: parallels and other variables The Squiggle is the experience of dimensional time: Time Travel with a vehicle. The agent of time interacts with anything malleable in the understanding of tick`:tick clock. The parallels and other variables – time as represented by humans as parallel to each other. The only way to remain truly parallel is to move together in unison and true meaning of time manipulation of makes time the manipulated variable which parallels never meet but interact through “the squiggle”. The meeting of the parallels through the squiggle acts as a mechanic of time, explaining possibilities of non-linear space. The squiggle is the in-between. This squiggle could also explain memory. Every memory is a collaboration between parallels, variables and the squiggle. You at home, in the living-room, on your chair – the variables. You are paralleled with the intentional positioning of self, whatever comes in between you and this will be the squiggle, exclusively in instances of The Squiggle as Object. Squiggle as Time follows a route of consciousness. The object no longer controls time, it is more that time is a winding path of overlapping interjection. Conscious- ness cannot exist as the only state, for consciousness to exist there also has to be the unconscious; in supposing the state of consciousness, one must also argue for its counter-state. Nothing can exist without its counter, its opposite. In The Squiggle, its to be that parallels stand as representing opposites; the squiggle is the fractioned pieces of the same fabric - even sometimes sewn. PARALLELS SQUIGGLE AS VARIABLE PARALLELS [Figure 5] 15 The Meeting Through Parallels The Squiggle as Time For time to exist as the squiggle, there has to be a fundamental understanding of consciousness. If the squiggle represents time, then it questions consciousness thoughtfully - as if taking place, is an unprovoked and violent strangulation of regularity as disrupted by the Beast of Observation. If consciousness is strangled, violently, then it becomes: CON scious NESS. 16 CONESSING forms the structure of hyper-awareness. The higher ground of knowing perhaps, which day that your mother died. [Camus, 1942]. Scious would be the in-between, of whether she died today. Or maybe yesterday, I don’t know. [Camus, 1942]. Time as the squiggle stands still in between the CONESS and the scious . The two interacting along parallels of objects or experience. The moment of silence and the transportation to the other side of the room. [Sartre, 1939] Simply, CONESS and scious exist in between and overlapping the parallels of what would be Object, if The Squiggle is equal to Time. They are both moments, experiences and action through movement of time; backwards, forwards and looping. The scious is the autopilot, the state of not knowing where you have been or where you are going, as if driving your car home with no recollection of time passing. CONESS would be the knowing of exactly what you are doing, where. In CONESSING and sciousing, exists both conscious and unconscious thought. Arguing between themselves in counter states of Time acting as The Squiggle. This is how Time Travel works here. And then there is the Beast of Observation. But perhaps the Beast should go unnamed, known only as Observation. For anybody to be in state of either consciousness, or unconsciousness, there must be observation between two states. These opposing states of existence are monitored by The Beast. If physical matter -as object can watch fluctuation of state in the same way only your car will know where it has been as you drive yourself home, forgetting - The Beast must then take the form of whatever else is observing. It becomes then, a consideration that would need to be considered, conscious- ly. Would The Beast be beautiful, or grotesque? But again, perhaps it should remain anonymous. Faithfully. All that is known, is that without The Beast, one could not travel through parallels in Time as the Squiggle. The Beast must always be. The Beast is the parallels. 17 The Squiggle as Object Time has to exist as both parallels in order for the object to act as the Squiggle. In disagreement with this, time can also be represented by an object, respectively, in interaction with an infiltrating object [see: figure ~]. e.g. In an instance whereof you are sitting opposite somebody else on the same train, heading in the same direction, performing the same action of sitting - you become time parallel. If something were to come in between this time parallel, it would act as The Squiggle as Object of Time Travel. Perhaps it could be the sports drink bottle, rolling back and forth, as if a pendulum. The disruption between time parallels is the object. Be careful to cover your mouth as you cough. Nose if you sneeze. The consequence could be Time Travel. In instances where PERTITIVE Time Travel exists, whereof the same action in different instances is equal to the same instance, then any object of disruption in this same action, becomes the movement through time. e.g. same chair, different day, someone else is sitting in it. In this explanation of Squiggle as the object, Time Travel cannot be completed in circular motion. Only through the Squiggle. What constitutes as the object? What is object criteria for the enable- ment of Time Travel. What does The Machine need to know? The Squiggle as the Object becomes interesting pursuit when consider- ing the limitations or lack thereof, of ‘object’. The formalisation of what the object could be can never exist in the production and function of The Machine. There has to be a vague and non-exclusive definition of object in attempt of Time Travel. If object is ‘true’ or ‘false’ then there is potential for an override in information, where something can or cannot be qualified as Time Travel because the object has not been recognised as having agency or autonomy to do so. The object must meet this criteria. If object meets criteria, it guarantees its agency to enable Time Travel. 18 So here-saying, everything is object and everything has agency. The “I Love London” coffee mug that you stole from your friend who ironically bought it for themselves at a boot-sale in Battersea, can still be the Object, thus transformative through action into the catalytic vehicle of Time Travel. There has to be forgiveness, limited to belief. Forgive the inani- mate, they have no idea what they are doing. If we must forgive the inanimate then, in turn, we must then criticise the animate. Any object with thought`:autonomy`:action, has to be understood as intentional disruption of Time Parallels in attempt to be the Victor of Time Travel. Anything can come between two time instances, and anything with any intention to do so must answer to questions posed only by those who care. Ask. Do you care if somebody takes your favourite seat on your twice-a-day bus route, the one that has shaped and moulded carefully to the shape of your derrière? The Squiggle can also be displayed in written form, as (-)//(-) This is the face of The Squiggle. The dash`:dash is either parallel variable, being Time or Object, joined in the centre by "//" as a display of parallel nature. The joining line between the minus`:minus is by bare-minimum representation, The Squiggle. Using this formula, The Squiggle is the emoticon of time. Albiet, eyes closed almost unconscious form of emoticon, yet with the vivid coherence and consciousness of what it means for the parallels and every in-between to exist. ___ [Figure 6] 19
