Kolektif x National Gallery Singapore ESSENTIAL INFORMATION #pleaseread 1) What is the role of Kolektif? • Over a period of 7 months, Kolektif members work with staff coordinators to develop and implement one event for young people at the Gallery’s Light to Night Festival in 2021. This event should be inspired by Southeast Asian modern art. It could be a live m usic gig, an art jam or laser tag in our underground carpark — the form of the programme is entirely up to you! • Kolektif brings young voices into the decision - making processes of the Gallery, speaking up on issues affecting young people and providing valuab le input on strategies to engage new and younger audiences. • As the pioneer batch, members will have the opportunity to co - create and chart the direction of Kolektif in collaboration with the Gallery! 2) Who are we looking for? A group of diverse young indivi duals between 17 and 25 years of age. Absolutely no art/history background is required! We are scouting for individuals to lend their passion, imagination and team spirit to Kolektif. Bonus: if you happen to have photography skills or programming experienc e, or have a passion for social media or filmmaking, tell us! 3) What’s in it for me? Being part of the brand new Kolektif requires significant time commitment. At the very least, Kolektif members will be required to attend a 3 - day Kolektif induction camp (day only), attend 7 compulsory meetings (one meeting each month) over a 7 - month term, and run one by - youth - for - youth Kolektif event. We will also need you to be active and participate in online group discussions on the private Kolektif Facebook group. Additional meetings, opportunities and activities for Kolektif members may also be scheduled. While these activities are non - compulsory, we encourage members to attend to enhance their learning and Kolektif experie nce. 6) Before applying, please consider the following: • Are you open to stepping out of your comfort zone? • Are you confident you will be able to juggle other obligations along with Kolektif responsibilities? • Are you able to travel to/from National Gallery S ingapore for meetings , the day camp and events ? All meetings, unless parents/guardians are otherwise notified, will take place at National Gallery Singapore (1 St Andrew’s Road, #01 - 01, Singapore 178957) under the supervision of the Kolektif staff coordinators. 7) Kolektif members must: • Be aged between 17 and 25 years at the time of application • Be able to commit to Kolektif for 7 months, from June 2020 to January 2021. • Within their current knowledge, be available on the following dates to attend the K olektif induction camp, compulsory Kolektif meetings and the Kolektif - planned programme in 2021: o Kolektif Induction Camp: 16, 17, 18 June 2020 o Kolektif Compulsory Meetings (Every 1 st Saturday of the month, 2 – 5pm): • 4 July 2020 • 1 August 2020 • 5 September 202 0 • 3 October 2020 • 7 November 2020 • 5 December 2020 o Light to Night 2021 (dates to be confirmed): • 22, 23 Jan 2021 • 29, 30 Jan 2021 • Have access to: o An email account o Facebook (Kolektif’s primary communication tool is a private FB group) o Google Drive o Whatsapp/Telegram o Instagram 8) Kolektif members do not need to: • Currently be attending school • Have had prior employment experience • Be artists • Be ‘outgoing’ or ‘extroverted’ • Have a background in art/art history/arts management 9) How will I know the results?
