I draw from other fields of knowledge such as political science, crop physiology , and public health to evaluate t he impact of conflict resolution processes on legal and illegal economic activity in rural areas, provide novel insights on the potential of adoption of disease resistant technologies to buffer the impact of negative climate shocks , and propose novel metho ds of technology diffusion that leverage within - family channels of information exchange.
