Help Us Protect Marine Turtles – Adopt a Nest! One of the most beautiful underwater creatures, the Marine turtle, is under serious threat. Here in this area, we have Hawksbills, Olive Ridleys and Green turtles that lay their eggs on the different beaches. One of the biggest dangers here in the area is the poaching of their eggs. Nests are taken for consumption. Another threat to the Marine turtles is natural predators / stray dogs hunting for the eggs or hatchlings. Our team and trained community members work tirelessly to protect the marine turtle nests. When they are found, we carefully relocate the eggs to one of our hatcheries in either Bucana, Duli, or Dagmay. There, they are kept safe from poachers and predators , while we make sure conditions remain as close to nature as possible. Once the hatchlings emerge, they are released back into the ocean. The finder of the nest is given an incentive as a reward for helping the cause. By donating any amount, you can ‘adopt a nest’ and directly help save marine turtles. There’s no minimum donation — every contribution helps. Your donation will support: • Materials needed for daily conservation work (buckets, headlights, tags, etc.). • The management and maintenance of our three hatcheries (Bucana, Duli and Dagmay) • Incentives (₱5 per egg) for trained community members patrolling beaches at night and bring nests to the hatcheries. You’ll be asked to name your adopted nest. We will monitor it closely and keep you updated when it’s (about to) hatch. Whenever possible, we’ll send photos of the hatchlings’ release, via WhatsApp (or email). Together we hope to continue to save as many marine turtles as possible!!!
