BAMASABA TAPAC-UGANDA COVID -19 EMERGENCY FOOD AND CLOTH PROGRAM Introduction Bamasaba cultural performers and brass band is a registered Community based Organization (CBO) under Mbale District Local government with Reg. No. 5504. Bamasaba cultural performers and brass band is a registered Community based Organization (CBO) under Mbale District Local government with Reg. No. 5504. BCP is a performing cultural group made of youth and Needy children from the slopes of Mt. Elgon (Elgon Zone) under the initiative of five senior talented MDD members. These five seniors have now enrolled a total number of 50 members of these thirty (30) are girls and twenty (20) boys. All these are youths and children from very poor families. Mission BCP are committed enabling youths and in disadvantaged communities to better their livelihood by learning from one another and eradicating poverty through self employment in performing art. Vision Enlighten the youth and communities to work, save, protect and preserve African culture and being patriotic irrespective to their background in a free and just world. Goals and objectives 1. The main goal of this emergency program is help feed for twenty (20) families of youths and children enrolled in TAPAC Uganda project. 2. Distribute cloths to both youths and children in these disadvantaged communities covered by TAPAC. 3. Raise $2283.37 to purchase food and cloths that will take these kids and youths from July to January next year with hope that the lock down will be ended by that time. Problem statement The organization is faced with a challenge of feeding and clothing for these children that are homeless due to the fact that most of these children came from the streets, some their homes were washed away by landslides and others simply were dumped by relative after the death of their parents. The organization at the moment has run out of money to feed and provide cloths for the kids and youth since there is no entertainment business where the organization used to generate revenue. All this has result the long lock down due the pandemic. The organization is looking forward to Raise $2283.37 to purchase food and cloths that will take these kids and youths until February next year with hope that the lock down will be ended by that time. Beans Beens are also very nice sauce easy to store and lasts for a long time and that’s the reason as to why we are buying to accompany the food and each kg costs 4000 UGX equal to $1.14 Sugar: Sugar is also another essential item for break fast and also easy to store, costing 4000ugx equal to $1.14 per kilogram Bar soap: Bar of soap is very multipurpose ie washing, bathing and moping which helps to keep people away from diseases it costs is 2083.33 UGX equal to $0.595 per bar. SALT This is another essential item for the sauce and its easy to store and long lasting its cost is 2000UGXequal to 0.57 Per Kilo. CLOTHING'S: These cloths are for both girls and boys. We have children that joined us at the beginning of the lock down and have no cloths. The cloths are sold in assorted packs of 150 cloths and each pack is 500,000 UGX which is € 125 per pack a total of $ 286 for two (2). Pads: This is a much required necessity for our girls that have reached periods and it is our responsibility and this will cost us $171 to sustain the 25 girls for the rest of this year until next year when we resume business. Masks: These are protective masks that our members can use to protect from catching and spreading the virus whenever they intend to move to the public at a cost of $114 for six months.
