Works under this section shall be governed by the General and Particular conditions of contract and sections of Division 1. B. The Contractor shall supply all labour and material necessary and shall install, complete and ready for use, the Elevator plant. C. The Contractor shall carry out the whole of the Elevator work in a workmanlike and substantial manner and in strict conformance with the codes listed in the following clauses or approved equal. D. All equipment and material supplied for the Elevator plant of this project shall be manufactured in strict compliance with the standards listed in the following clauses, or approved equal. E. The Contractor's attention is directed to the requirements of the General and Particular Conditions of Contract, and Section "General Requirements" of the specifications as applicable to the Elevators Work. F. Local assembly, even if partial is rejected, only factory assembled, tested and certified lifts at their country of origin shall be accepted. G. Only firms having local supplier/representative established for 10 years at least shall be approved. H. All lifts shall have battery operated emergency landing system. I. The bidder shall imperatively include in his quotation without any future risk and for claim or variation: All expenses rated to Third party testing as per EN 81 requirements. Third party shall be selected by Client/Engineer only. 1.2 SCOPE A. This specification covers the complete supply, installation, test and commission and hand over the complete installation of Machine Room Less Type Elevator intended to be used for the Project in accordance with the Drawings, specifications, schedules and to the acceptance of the Client/ Engineer. B. All accessories or other items necessary to the completeness of the Elevators Work, though not specifically shown on the Drawings or specified herein, shall also be provided under this Section. C. Work under this Section shall include but shall not be limited to Section "Schedules for Elevators". D. The Elevator's Supplier shall be the authorized distributor of such equipment, maintaining a local staff of specialists for engineering assistance, emergency assistance, installation and maintenance of the Elevators Work. E. The system shall be designed to accept the incoming AC power supply which is 400V volts, three phases, 50 Hz, alternating current. The supply for illumination, fan and control shall be on, 250 Volts, single phase alternating current. The elevators shall be supplied and installed by an approved manufacturer listed in Approved Vendor List. G. The work shall be carried out concurrently with the work of the building construction and the Contractor shall be required to include all works in connection with the specialist subcontract. H. The Contractor shall submit samples of all finishing materials for the approval of the Engineer. I. The Contractor shall commence the electrical installation from the circuit breakers provided in the lift hoist-way for this purpose. All the works shall be coordinated with the other contractors prior to installation, so that there will be no areas of incompatibility. J. The elevator system shall be equipped with traction machinery and associated traction equipment, elevator cars, solid state control systems and all other equipment and accessories required to provide a complete, modern, durable and efficient vertical transport system. K. All the electrical equipment shall be compatible with the available electrical system of the building, as specified under electrical section. L. All the components shall be selected to provide satisfactory operation under prevailing environmental conditions at site. M. A monthly inspection shall be submitted to the Engineer or to be retained in the lift control panel immediately after each monthly inspection and cleaning and greasing. N. Elevator System shall interface with the following systems: 1. The security systems such as access control (card readers), Surveillance Cameras, 2. Building Management System (BMS), 3. Background Music (BGM), 4. Digital Displays System, 5. Fire Alarm Detection System, etc., O. The Subcontractor shall also give notice that any fault notified will receive immediate attention on the day of the notification P. Works provided by the Contractor: 1. Smoke detection to the top of the shaft as per Civil Defence requirements. 2. Any sprinkler system. 3. Builders work openings in the structure. 4. Concrete up-stands to lift openings (Sills). 5. Grouting under Sills/Frames. 6. Provision of main line disconnect (isolator) for lift power supply. 7. Temporary power and lighting to the shaft. 8. Casting of works into slab edge for sill and entrance fixings (Inserts to be 40 x 40 unistrut or similar) provided by Lift Contractor to Contractor. 9. Inserts for car and counterweight guide rail fixings to be cast into core walls by 1.0M above pit S.S. L. and 0.5 meters below headroom slab and at 2500mm vertical pitches full height of the hoistway (Inserts to be 40 x 40 unistrut or similar) Provided by Lift Contractor to Contractor. 10. Pit/Shaft lighting (provide illumination in each hoistway per EN-81) and protection screen. 11. Power consumer unit. Metal work such as steps/lifting beams, hooks, landings, handrails, etc.. 13. Shaft entrance protection. 14. Weather proof lockable storage units at ground floor for temporary storage of on-site lift materials and equipment. 15. Blockouts, Cutting, Patching and Finishing: All blockouts in, or cutting of structural members, walls or work specified in other sections, together with patching and finishing of same, including grouting under sills and around hoist-way entrance frames. 16. Guards: Protective enclosure around hoist-way openings during construction. 17. Cab Flooring: As indicated in drawings to match elevator lobbies. 18. Shafts Lighting. 19. Pit sum pump /means of sump drain to nearest pit. 20. Wring/Conducting for any systems/interface outside lift pit/lift motor shaft. Q. Works provided by the Elevators Supplier/Contractor: 1. All scaffolding required for Elevators Installation during construction. 2. Metal work in the lift pit (access ladders, buffer inspection ladders, support channels, etc). 3. Steel divider Beams between lifts. 4. All car finishes, as Per Schedule and subject to Engineer's approval. 5. Interface unit containing No-Volt Contacts for fire alarm, 6. Intercom/Telephone interface with the car of other systems 7. The temporary works requirements within the shaft should the lift be erected by scaffold or by self-erecting techniques then all temporary works shall be by the lift contractor. 8. All metal work and steel work associated with the support of all rope support or diversion frames. 1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Installer Qualifications: Engage the elevator manufacturer or an experienced Installer approved by the elevator manufacturer who has completed elevator installations similar in material, design, and extent to that indicated for this Project and with a record of successful in-service performance. B. Regulatory and Safety Requirements: In addition to local governing regulations, comply with the applicable provisions of the latest edition of the following standards, referred to as the "Code": 1. Full Compliance with ACCOR Hotels Corporate Technical Standards. 2. EN 81-20 & EN-81-50: "Safety Rules for the Construction and Installation of Lifts" and its related derivatives. 3. All normative references listed in EN 81-20 Standard. These include those issued by ISO, IEC, CEN and CENELEC and any other standard referred to. 4. EN 81-70 - “Accessibility to lifts for persons including persons with Disability”, regarding the use of elevators by disabled people. 5. EN 81-72 - “Safety rules for the construction and installation of lifts. Particular applications for passenger and goods passenger lifts. Firefighters lifts” regarding Firefighter elevators. 6. EN 81-73 - “Safety rules for the construction and installation of lifts. Particular applications for passenger and goods passenger lifts. All electric power installations shall comply with the "IET Wiring Regulations” where not in contradiction with the Ministry of Electricity (MoE) requirements. 8. Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC): EN 12015 (Emission) and EN 12016 (Immunity). 9. Nominal characteristics of all equipment forming part of the electrical works shall be specified to conform to the relevant International Electro-technical Commission (IEC) Standards and the International Standards Organization (ISO). 10. ASME A17.1, "Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators" for life safety requirements, where it is not in contradiction with EN 81 requirements. C. Conformity to Standards: Contractor shall be responsible for the provision of a complete installation in total conformity with the Standards. It is the Contractor’s responsibility to provide all Standards requirements even if not accounted for in this Specification and to coordinate with the Engineer on the issues related to the safety of the installations. D. In the event of a conflict between any of the above applicable or reference Standards, the more stringent requirements shall take precedence. E. In case the Contractor proposes part of equipment in accordance with other Standards, then detailed comparison documents including one original copy (in English – translation to English should be the approved one by the Standard originating Committee) of the latest edition of the referred to Standard (and related annexes) are to be submitted for Engineer's approval. These documents shall detail discrepancies and advantages of the offer. Submittals shall be preceded by a written approval of the Engineer on such. However, the Employer and the Engineer reserves the right to accept or reject such proposals. 1.4 COMPLIANCE STATEMENTS A. The Contract shall provide a Compliance Statement for all elevators and clearly indicate any deviations from the specifications for the Engineer’s approval. 1.5 SUBMITTALS A. Submittals: Refer to Conditions of Contract, Division 1, for submission of documents, presentation and number of copies. B. Product Data: (For each elevator): Include rated capacities, sizes, performances, operations, safety features, finishes, and similar information including car design and layout, hoistway door and frame details, etc. 1. Detailed conformity (Deviation statement) to required standards, specifications and schedules, to be submitted at tendering phase. 2. Guarantees on power and spare parts requirements. 3. Sample Warranty: Copy of manufacturer's proposed warranty, stating obligations, remedies, limitations, and exclusions. C. Shop Drawings (For each elevator): Coordinate with the Main Contractor for exact shaft dimensions and notify the Engineer in case of any discrepancy with the available data. Show plans, elevations, sections, and large-scale details indicating service at each landing, equipment layout in shaft, coordination with the building structure (ventilation openings, sleeves / openings, etc), and relationships with other construction (rail bracket spacing, structural supports, maximum dynamic and static loads imposed on guide rails requiring transfer to building structure at points of support, load on hoisting beams, etc.). Include maximum and average power demands. D. Mock-up: Prior to starting construction and after obtaining the shop drawings approval, Contractor is to provide a mock-up for the Employer / Engineer approval. Such mock-up must reflect the approved details and finishes. The related comments posted by the Employer / Engineer shall be reflected on the mock-up and the shop drawings and resubmitted for approval. A mock-up per type might be considered. One mock-up is to be provided per type of lift. Mock-up shall be identical to the final product. E. Construction work shall not proceed until final approval of material / equipment, Shop drawings and mock-up are obtained. F. Samples: For exposed finishes for car, hoistway doors, and signal equipment; 250 mm square samples of sheet materials; and 250 mm lengths of running trim members. G. Qualification Data: For firms and persons specified in "Quality Assurance" Article to demonstrate their capabilities and experience. Include lists of similar completed projects with project names and addresses, names and addresses of engineers and employers, and other information specified or required by the Engineer. H. Maintenance Manuals: For each electric traction elevator, include operation and maintenance instructions, parts listing with sources indicated, recommended parts inventory listing, emergency instructions, and similar information. Include all diagnostic and repair information available to the Manufacturer's and the Installer's maintenance personnel. Submit for the Employer's information at project closeout as specified in Division 1. Refer also to the requirements of Section 7 of EN 81-70, and to the clause hereafter. I. Maintenance Data: For each Elevator types, provide maintenance manual with at least the following requirements: 1. Elevator's maintenance requirements. 2. List of spare parts and replacement components recommended to be stored at site for ready and direct access, classified based on the expected failure rates. 3. Time-current curves, including selectable ranges for each type. 4. Spare parts: a. The Elevator's Contractor shall draw up the exhaustive list of spare parts and shall submit it to the Engineer for approval: i. Emergency spares required to prevent elevators downtime; ii. Wearing parts whose life expectancy is less than 24 months in normal use. b. For all spare parts, the Elevator's Contractor shall indicate: i. The manufacturer’s name; ii. The manufacturer’s reference; iii. The reference of the nearest supplier; iv. The parts list number of the sub-assembly concerned; v. The deadlines and conditions of procurement; vi. The costs; vii. The duration before expiry; viii. The storage quantity; ix. Possible substitutions from other manufacturers with references. c. A list per batch of spare parts shall be drawn up by the Engineer with the Elevator's Contractor, at the end of the guarantee period, in accordance with the Log of incidents occurring on the elevators. J. Declaration of Conformity to EN 81-70 shall be provided to the Engineer, for each elevator. K. Inspection and acceptance certificates and operating permits as required by governing authorities for normal, unrestricted elevator use. Submit to the Employer at project closeout. L. As-Built Drawings: At project closeout, submit record drawings of installed elevators, in accordance with requirements of the specification, Division 1. M. All above submittals including software programs shall be in English Language only. N. Coordination with other Packages: It is the Contractor’s responsibility to coordinate with other packages for any construction / schedule interface problem with other linked packages. In case of any conflict, The Engineer should be informed. 1.6 ACCEPTANCE TESTS A. Any work which is not in accordance with the specifications shall be removed and repaired at the Contractor's expense. B. All material must be factory finished and/or painted to the acceptance of the Engineer. C. The Contractor shall provide a third party testing certificate and shall fulfil all requirements to the approval and satisfaction of the local Civil Defence Authorities. 1.7 MAINTENANCE AND WARRANTY A. The Contractor shall be responsible for the maintenance of the Elevators at his own expense for duration of 2 years starting from the date of issuing of the Taking-Over certificate to the Main Contractor or handing over the project to the Operator. Maintenance shall include replacement of parts or whole equipment that shows any manufacturing or installation defects during operation. B. The Contractor shall guarantee every piece of equipment from any manufacturing or installation defects for a period of 2 years, the date of issuing of the Taking-Over certificate to the Main Contractor or handing over the project to the Operator. The Contractor shall supply two copies of a maintenance manual for the Elevators System in English. C. The warranty details shall be displayed on the equipment. These details shall include: 1. Warranty start and end date. 2. Supplier’s contact phone number. 3. Local service center. D. The warranty details shall be engraved on appropriate brass plates and shall be affixed to the equipment. 1.8 PROTECTION A. Temporary Use: Do not use the system for construction purposes. However, in case it is required by the Engineer and/or the Employer, adequate temporary protections are to be provided by the Contractor. Should there be a requirement for the use of an elevator during construction, the Contractor shall provide at his expense, temporary car enclosure, required guards and protective barriers, power lights, and any special labor related to such temporary service. The Contractor shall also assume all charges connected with testing and maintenance required for temporary service. C. Provide protective coverings, barriers, devices, signs, or other procedures to protect elevators. If, despite such protection, elevators become damaged, restore damaged work so that no evidence remains of correction work. Return items that cannot be refinished in the field to the shop, make required repairs and refinish entire unit, or provide new units as required. Repair shall be done to the satisfaction of the Engineer and at no extra cost to the Employer. D. All equipment shall be restored to a "like new" condition at the Contractor’s expense prior to acceptance of the work by the Engineer. E. Provide final protection and maintain conditions, in a manner acceptable to the manufacturer and Engineer that insure elevators are without damage or deterioration at the time of Substantial Completion. F. Elevators Equipment shall be protected against mechanical damage and from the weather especially from water dripping or splashing upon it, at all times during shipment, storage and construction. Equipment shall not be stored outdoors. Where equipment is installed or stored in moist areas such as unheated buildings, etc., it shall be provided with an acceptable means to prevent moisture damage. This may be a uniformly distributed source of heat to prevent condensation. G. Should any equipment or material be subjected to possible damage by water, it shall be dried out thoroughly and put through a special dielectric test as directed, at the expense of the Contractor or shall be replaced by the Contractor without additional charge. H. Provide full maintenance service by skilled, competent employees for equipment used for construction purposes. Include preventive maintenance, repair or replacement of worn or defective components, lubrication, cleaning, and adjusting as required for proper elevator operation at rated speed and capacity. Use parts and supplies as used in the manufacture and installation of original equipment. 1.9 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING A. Packing and Shipping: Deliver materials, components and equipment in original protective shipping containers with labels intact and legible. B. Delivery on Site: Do not deliver materials, components and equipment on site until adequate protected storage facilities are available or for direct installation. C. Storage and Protection: Store materials, components and equipment above ground, under cover and in a well-ventilated protected area. Comply with manufacturer's recommendations concerning temperature and relative humidity limitations during storage. 1.10 TRAINING A. The Contractor shall arrange to train the designated employer’s personnel regarding the operation and routine maintenance of elevator equipment. B. The training shall be performed at side by a qualified and factory trained engineer employed by the supplier of elevators. The Contractor shall at an early stage coordinate with work to be done under other sections such as shaft dimensions, pit depth, levels, structural requirements, doors clearances, distribution board including number of circuits allocated, circuit breaker ratings, feeders sizes, conduits and empty boxes for control wiring and signalling equipment, etc. B. The Contractor shall be responsible for any future problems that might arise due to the incoordination with other trades and shall foresee at an early stage all necessary requirements to be able to install the system as specified herein. C. It shall be the full responsibility of Elevator's Contractor and the Contractor to coordinate with Contractor's/Suppliers of the security systems (such as access control, camera surveillance systems), Building Management System (BMS), Background Music (BGM), Digital Displays System, Fire Alarm Detection System, etc., in order to ensure the compatible and adequate interfaces (hardware, software, etc....) are provided between the elevator system and the other systems. 1.12 WIRING A. Only cables forming part of the Elevators installation shall be run in the Elevators shaft. Cables fixed in the Elevator shaft shall be one of the following types: 1. Armored, 2. Insulated, 3. Heat, oil and flame retardent sheathed, 4. Enclosed in metal conduit, metal duct or metal trunking, high impact rigid PVC conduit. B. Travelling cables shall be elastomer insulated with braided moisture resistant textile outer finish treated with fire resisting compound and manufactured to BS 6977 (BS EN 50214). C. The minimum size of one core shall be 1 mm2. D. Each travelling cable shall contain one earth conductor and one spare conductor. The travelling cables shall be supported at the top of the Elevator shaft and at the car, as to relieve the strain on the conductors. The method of support shall be to the approval of the Engineer. E. Reservation shall be made in the traveling cables for the CCTV camera inside the cabin, as well as minimum five (5) conductors 18AWG for card reader connection. 1.13 DISCONNECTING AND PROTECTION MEANS A. The disconnecting and short circuit and earth fault protection means of the Controller which will be provided under a separate section in the form of a distribution board will be as follows (unless otherwise indicated): 1. Individual triple pole circuit breakers for every Elevators motor. 2. Individual single pole circuit breakers for the control circuit of every Elevators motor. 3. One single pole circuit breaker for common group system control and common signalling lights as applicable. B. In addition lighting and fan of each Elevators car will be provided with a separate circuit breaker(s). The controller shall be electrically assembled and connected such that it shall accept separate circuits from every breaker described above. D. A mushroom headed lock down type emergency stop switch shall be provided adjacent to machine or pulley. The emergency stop push button shall be provided at a readily accessible position to personnel in an emergency situation. E. A similar warning shall be provided on a board and shall be hung above the distribution board adjacent to the door. F. The contractor shall coordinate with the Electrical Works section for the appropriate breakers ratings and quality and shall submit the same for the approval of Engineer. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1 TRACTION EQUIPMENT 2.1.1 GEARLESS MACHINE A. The machines shall be of gearless type, compact and robust design with a minimum number of parts, resulting in lower noise levels under all running conditions, from empty to full load. B. For machine room less elevators, the gearless traction machine shall be of permanent magnet type with built-in double brakes. C. The machines shall have high efficiency and reduced power consumption. D. Gearless machine shall be equipped with simple and stable brake adjustment. E. The machine shall have features like controlled acceleration and deceleration for comfortable speed transition. 2.1.2 MOTOR DRIVE A. The Variable Voltage, Variable Frequency motor drive (VVVF) unit shall control the motor speed using a microprocessor. B. The VVVF system shall be provided with a converter which performs AC-to-DC conversion and an inverter which is designed to invert DC to three-phase variable voltage variable frequency AC. The inverter will give an output of sinusoidal current with zero (0) through fifty 50 hertz by application of pulse width modulation technology. The inverter shall control voltage and frequency continuously and accurately in accordance with speed command signal which is performed by a microprocessor in the elevator controller. C. The VVVF drive unit shall be capable of keeping the elevator service under the following condition: 1. Supply line voltage fluctuation : -10% to + 5% from the rated voltage. 2. Frequency variation : -+2% from the rated frequency. D. The VVVF drive unit shall be provided with contactors for removing the power from the motor of the traction machine. The contactors shall open each time the car stops. The brake of the traction machine shall be applied while the contacts drop out. E. A pulse rotary encoder shall detect the actual speed of the car. The difference between the speed command signal and the actual speed measured by the pulse rotary encoder shall control the motor speed while the car is accelerating, decelerating and landing. Protective devices shall ensure to open the main circuit between the VVVF unit and the motor of the traction machine to stop the elevator when one of the following conditions occurs: Phase reversal, phase failure, failure of supply voltage, over current, overheating of thyristor and transistor, operation of any safety device. 2.1.3 CONTROL SYSTEM A. The control system shall consist of the VVVF motor drive unit and a computerized controller. A computer controlled regulator shall control the car speed by comparing the actual car speed detected by a pulse-rotary encoder with an ideal speed pattern generated by a microprocessor. B. While the car is accelerating, the ideal accelerating pattern shall be generated by the microprocessor to obtain the smooth and optimum acceleration. C. While the car is decelerating, the microprocessor shall calculate and provide the ideal speed pattern to obtain the comfortable and stable riding performance. D. At landing, a smooth landing pattern shall be generated by a microprocessor, and as soon as the car has stopped, the mechanical brake will be applied to hold the car. 2.1.4 OPERATION A. Selective Collective Control: 1. Pressure upon one or more car buttons shall send the car to the designated landings in the order in which the landings are reached by the car, irrespective of the sequence in which the buttons are pressed, provided the hoist-way door interlock and car door switch circuits are completed. During this operation, the car shall also answer calls from the landings, which are in the prevailing direction of travel. Each landing call shall be cancelled when answered. 2. Pressure upon a hall button at a floor above the car location shall cause the car to start up and answer any up calls, as they are reached by the car; irrespective of the sequence the buttons have been pressed. The car shall not stop at floors where down buttons only had been pressed. If no further car or up hall calls are registered, the car shall reverse its direction preference to response to car calls or down hall calls. 3. The car shall start down to answer calls below the car and shall not stop where only up calls are registered. When travelling up, the car shall reverse at the highest call and proceed to answer calls below it. When travelling down, the car shall reverse at the lowest call and answer calls above it. 4. Should both an up and a down call be registered at an intermediate landing, only the call responding to the direction in which the car is travelling shall be cancelled upon the stopping of the car at the landing. Terminal limit switches shall be provided in the hoist-way designed to automatically stop the car at or near the closest terminal landing. 5. When no calls are registered, car will return back to the pre-defined home floor. B. Group Operation: 1. Individual Car Controller: shall be intelligent, solid state with high efficiency processors and have closed loop velocity and positioning. Individual car controllers will incorporate processors in a distributed scheme to provide maximum flexibility and computing power. System redundancy in the group system shall be accomplished. Hall pushbutton risers shall be attached to the main group controller as well as the backup controllers. In the event that the main group controller can’t perform its duties, the system shall automatically switch to the next backup car controller. Communication between individual car controllers shall be accomplished through a serial link as well as concurrent communication through a secondary serial link. 2. For each individual car controller, provide a serial card rack and main CPU board containing a non-erasable EPROM and operating system firmware. Variable field parameters and adjustments shall be contained in a non-volatile memory module. Serial ports shall be provided for connection to monitoring devices / diagnostic tools. 3. Each elevator machine shall be provided with a tachometer or an encoder in order to provide accurate feedback to the controller as to car position. 4. All individual elevator control adjustment parameters shall be stored in non-volatile memory within the computer control system. 5. At each landing, a vane shall be installed to provide the code required floor zone detection. The vane shall also serve as a method for referencing absolute building points for the controller. C. Destination Control System (DCS) 1. The elevator control system shall include Destination Control System (DCS) to regulate and optimize the elevator traffic. DCS shall arrange the building users to enter only a designated lift car to minimize the number of stops, round-trip-time and waiting time during heavy traffic periods. 2. DCS shall be capable of interfacing with access control system for allowing the system to assign default floor to the user as programmed in the access card, thereby reducing en-route floor stops. 3. DCS shall include DOP (Destination Operating Panel) to display the assigned car to the user, when the access card holder registers his/her destination call at DOP. 4. DCS shall enable the user to follow the position indicator and next stops. Through COP (Car Operating Panel) 5. Destination Operating Panel (DOP) shall be flush monitoring type and shall include keypad, display and functional button. 6. The DOP keypad shall have: a. Flush Markings b. Raised dot on numbers for visually impaired. c. Tactile Star symbol for pre-determined exit floor. d. Disability call button e. Group call button 7. Elevator identifier in the system shall allow identification of elevators by audio-visual indication. The identifier shall also include disabled call audible guidance for physically impaired. Guide Rails: for smooth running of the counterweight and the elevator car, guide rails with steel tee section shall be installed, covering the entire height of the elevator shaft. The rails shall rest on the hoist-way pit to prevent exerting any physical forces on hoist-way ceiling or walls of the building. B. Proper expansion joints shall be provided to withstand forces created on temperature variations. C. Hoisting Belts/Ropes: Polyurethane coated steel belts/ropes shall be used instead of conventional wire ropes. The belts/rope shall be more durable, flexible and lighter than the heavy woven steel cables. D. Governor Ropes shall be manufactured similar to hoisting ropes. The two ends shall be securely linked to the car and attached to the safety gear operating level. The governor ropes shall be tensioned by a weight-loaded device located in the pit. E. Counterweight: Cast iron blocks enclosed in a steel framework shall be provided to balance the weight of the car and the specified capacity and protection screen shall be provided in the pit to ensure the safety of service personnel. F. Oil buffer shall be provided for speeds above 1 m/s. G. The traveling cables shall be 450V/750V grade multi-core with stranded high conductivity copper conductors, especially designed for elevator duty. These cables shall be properly supported by retaining straps and individual cable clamps. H. Reservation shall be made in the traveling cables for the CCTV camera inside the cabin, as well as minimum five (5) conductors 18AWG for card reader connection. 2.3 SAFETY EQUIPMENT A. The gradual type safety system, comprising of a close loop roping system, over speed centrifugal governor, safety gear equipment, etc.
