Asynchronously Productive By Parthiban R Giza Global Solutions To facilitate deep work, we at GGS focus on minimizing meetings ( a short why), and sync asynchronously via gitlab and slack with team. Here, I share, how to setup slack for the same (if not, the notifications can make you go crazy, again affecting deep work) Remember the good old days of outlook sitting silently in our system tray, and only showing mails which we can also disable and get into inbox when needed to sync up? This is what we do here. 1. Install slack desktop 2. Mute all channels and DMs as shown here 3. Slack by default may auto start on windows boot, but ensure by checking this settings. 4. Please check at least once a day, clicking on slack icon in system tray and checking for highlighted channels, DMs for new messages for you to sync up. This way, it is you who would be choosing when to check messages, when to sync, than calls/meetings/notifications disturb you and get you out of your deep valley of thought process.
