It sang but couldn‟t recite a word of scripture. It hopped and it flew but lacked all sense of manners. এক - তম হির োহি। ত হির ভূি ৃ। ত গোন গোহত , োস্ত্ৰ হত নো। রোপোইত , উহত , জোহনত নো কোয় দোকোনুন কোকক ফকর। The King said, “Such a bird is of no use. Yet it devours fruit from the forest, bringing down the profits of fruiterers in the royal market.” He summoned the Minister and commanded, “Educate the bird!” যোজো ফহরকরন , “ এভন োহি ততো কোকজ রোকগ নো , অথচ ফকনয পর িোইয় ো যোজোকে পকরয ফোজোকয তরোকোন ঘেোয় । ” ভন্ত্র ীকক ডোহকয় ো ফহরকরন , “ োহিেোকক হক্ষ ো দো। ” The task of educating the bird fell on the King‟s nephews, his sisters‟ sons. যোজোয বোহগনোকদয উয বোয হর োহিেোকক হক্ষ ো হদফোয। the King‟s nephews, his sisters‟ sons. learned men of the court The learned deliberated long. He took a pinch of snuff and declared, “This isn‟t a matter of just a few texts.” ণ্ড িত ফহকরন োহিকক হফদযো হিোইকত । নয রইয় ো ফহরকরন , „ অল্প ুাঁহথয কভ ৃ নয় । ‟ One of the royal nephews sent for scribes. Repairs were always under way. One day he turned up at the schoolroom with his friends, counselors and courtiers. At once the musicians at the gate struck up on their many wind and percussion instruments. The teachers shook their sacred tufts of hair as they loudly chanted mantras, and all the workmen, laborer‟s, goldsmiths, scribes and their numerous cousins raised slogans in praise of the King. He said, “There! I‟d forgotten about it. We haven‟t seen the bird.” যোজোয চভক রোহগর ; ফহরতরন , “ ঐ মো ! ভকন ততো হির নো। োহিেোকক তদিো য় নোই। ” He went back and said to the teacher, “We must see the manner in which you conduct the lessons.” হপহযয় ো আহয় ো ণ্ড িতকক ফহরকরন , “ োহিকক ততোভযো তকভন তিো তোয কোয় দোেো তদিো চোই। ” A demonstration followed. It pleased the King no end. The manner was so advanced that the bird was hardly visible. It seemed not at all necessary to see the bird. The King was satisfied that there was no flaw in the arrangements. Inside the cage there was neither any grain nor a drop of water. Only reams of texts were being tom and the pieces of paper thrust into the bird‟s mouth with the point of a quill. Not only had the singing stopped, there wasn‟t even scope for screeching.
