A B C Why are teenagers always so tired? Many teenagers feel tired during the first lessons at school. Some people think this is because teenagers stay up too late or spend too much time on their phones. However, scientists say there is another important reason. As children grow into teenagers, their bodies change. One important change affects the body's internal clock. This clock tells us when to feel awake and when to feel sleepy. During the teenage years, many teenagers do not feel tired until later at night. As a result, it can be difficult for them to fall asleep early, even if they have school the next morning. Health experts say that teenagers need between eight and ten hours of sleep each night. However, many do not get enough sleep because they have to wake up early for school. This can make it harder to concentrate, remember new information and stay focused during lessons. Some schools have tried starting lessons later in the morning. Studies show that students often sleep longer, feel more awake and pay better attention in class. Some schools have also reported better attendance after changing their start times. However, changing school start times is not always easy because schools and families have different schedules. Even so, many scientists believe that later school start times could help teenagers stay healthier and learn more effectively. 2) Write one sentence that explains the main idea of your paragraph in your OWN words. 3) Write one sentence that explains the main idea of the article.
