Skill bars give the sidebar a floor The computer-literacy bars sit at the bottom of the navy column with the percentage labelled in text as well as drawn, so the information survives for a screen reader and for a recruiter skimming at arm's length. Built properly Every element is real, editable text and real shapes: no flattened artwork and no text baked into images. The sidebar and the main column are independent, so either can grow without pushing the other off the page. Text stays selectable and in reading order, so applicant tracking systems parse the navy sidebar as readily as the bright column. Skill percentages are written as text next to every bar, so the value survives for screen readers and for print.
