How to combat Beryl ’ s 30-Day “ trap ” in Norwich! Reddit User • June 24, 2025 I was furious to see Beryl pull this sneaky ridiculous stunt right after dangling a great promotion - for which I fell and bought the bundle! It feels really scummy to advertise generous minute bundles only to slash their validity without any warning. This is first time I do something like this as I couldn’t just let it slide, so thanks to a bit of tech know-how and a couple of friends I’ve pulled together the following info on how to fight back: Gather Your Evidence Screenshots & PDFs (help to save the cached pages)Live pricing page showing “Valid for 30 days” 1 Your purchase confirmation (date, bundle size, order ref) 2 Old Terms of Service excerpt: “minutes expire after 12 months if they are not used.” 3 Timestamped ArchivesPrivacy Policy (24 Jun 2025 19:47 UTC): (I've removed this due to reddit filters (fair enough) - see pastebin for all links) 4 Terms of Service (24 Jun 2025 19:48 UTC): (I've removed this due to reddit filters (fair enough) - see pastebin for all links) 5 Alternate (any Beryl URL): (I've removed this due to reddit filters (fair enough) - see pastebin for all links) 6 Cached O ffl ine Copies - (These are ZIPs of the browser-saved pages, complete with original file timestamps and SHA hashes you can verify. Template Subject: URGENT: Enforce 12-Month Expiry on Minute Bundle (Order #12345) Hi Beryl Customer Support, On [date] I purchased a 100-minute bundle under your then-live T&Cs, which clearly stated: “Your minute balance will remain available for use until you have used all the Minutes; minutes expire after 12 months if they are not used.” After constant notifications pushing this promotion and days later you updated your pricing pages to "Valid for 30 days" - a change you failed to roll out to your Terms of Service. I’ve archived and timestamped your policy pages here: • Privacy Policy – (link here) Terms of Service – (link here) Please confirm by [date + 7 days] that you will honour the original 12-month expiry for my bundle, or refund me the full purchase price. If I don’t hear back by then, I will escalate to Citizens Advice, my card issuer (Section 75/chargeback) and Trading Standards.
