Quite frankly it is one of the best parts of the job! 2 | WEDDINGS & CELEBRATIONS AT CHEVAL THE EDINBURGH GRAND Formerly the headquarters of The Royal Bank of Scotland until its refurbishment in 2018, Cheval The Edinburgh Grand includes fifty luxuriously appointed apartments, a reception room on the fourth floor we call the Games Room, and an accompanying cocktail lounge and restaurant, The Register Club, also located on the fourth level. 3 | WEDDINGS & CELEBRATIONS AT CHEVAL THE EDINBURGH GRAND Setting the Scene The nature of the individual, quirky spaces at Cheval The Edinburgh Grand makes them ideal for intimate weddings and celebrations, and we can be flexible depending on your wishes and the number of guests. You could host a private dinner in the Directors’ Suite, or a drinks reception in the three-bedroom penthouse with its panoramic city views. It’s important to note that we are not a dedicated wedding venue with a pre-ordained bronze, silver and gold set of packages. This is by choice, and because we want to work with our guests to ensure that every event is unique and reflects their personality as well as our own. When it comes to staying overnight, we can accommodate individuals, couples and families in our selection of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. This room can be tailored for a wedding ceremony, sit down meal or standing reception. The number of people that can comfortably be accommodated is indicated below. This is an ideal spot for hosting post-ceremony drinks and photos before returning to the Games Room for a sit-down meal. Also located on the same level as the Games Room, this apartment bursts with period features; original fireplaces and accent wood panelling add to the gentrified and romantic atmosphere. The cleverly designed room can be tailored either for a sit-down meal or a standing reception. The Directors’ Suite Configuration Private dining: Standing reception: Maximum capacity 12 30 10 | WEDDINGS & CELEBRATIONS AT CHEVAL THE EDINBURGH GRAND The Directors’ Suite In a previous existence this space was the Royal Bank of Scotland’s Committee Room, now transformed into a cosy and welcoming bar and lounge space. The Register Club is open to both residents and guests, and offers champagne, cocktails, a selection of lighter dishes and afternoon tea, seven days a week. With its double heighted ceiling and elegant wood panelling, it’s not hard to imagine yourself getting comfortable in one of the many booths that line the walls and planning that special occasion or event with friends and family. Although your event can be as small as you like, prices start from £ 55 per person for a sit-down three- course meal, and for a minimum group size of 10. Its menu includes seafood from the Scottish coast and top-quality cuts of steak from grass-fed cattle. There are two private dining spaces in addition to the expansive main restaurant: The Tellers’ Room seating up to 48, and the intimate McLellan Room welcoming up to 12 guests around a circular table. By day, an airy ground floor caf é and wine bar serving everything from coffee and pastries to enticing lunches. By night, an energetic venue in what was formerly the bank’s vaults, with DJ on hand, cocktails to order and a full-size food menu to keep its patrons dancing until 3am. Lady Libertine 18 | WEDDINGS & CELEBRATIONS AT CHEVAL THE EDINBURGH GRAND Lady Libertine When the day’s excitement comes to a close, it’s always nice to have something to look forward to. If you’re staying with us at Cheval The Edinburgh Grand, there’s nothing better than having the penthouse or Directors’ Suite all to yourself once the crowd has departed. There is also a three-bedroom and a one-bedroom penthouse at our sister Residence Cheval Old Town Chambers in the city’s Old Town, both with views across Princes Street Gardens. Further down the Royal Mile, opposite the Palace of Holyroodhouse, stands our boutique nine apartment Residence, Cheval Abbey Strand Apartments at Holyrood.
