Our biggest concern with the materials is the ballot. The addition of the contextual overlay vote is not appropriate to our stated effort to get a clear, accurate representation of our community's decision on the issue of the conservation overlay. The language as it stands is confusing and unclear. If the vote for a conservation overlay fails, the neighborhood is free to pursue other zoning protections, including a contextual overlay. But to include a separate line item will only muddy the waters. That being said, you can find our comments below on the ballot in "track changes." We would love to move forward with canvassing and tabulating votes as soon as possible. The opposition has yet to propose block captains. One member of the opposition has left the committee, now we're talking about nominating two new steering committee members? These continual delays are not fair to the majority of neighbors who are in favor of this legislation. We have waited long enough. Jeff, we ask that you allow logic to prevail here so we can move forward and not prolong this unnecessarily painful experience any longer. Let us take the vote. Also, being that Dylan is removed from the committee and Amy is traveling out of country 6/25 I will be looking at adding 2 new steering committee members in the near future. Lastly, at the next meeting I’d like to discuss the blatant disregard for the expectations set forward at our first meeting. If the campaigning that has happened since that 5/4 meeting indicate how the following days will go I won’t agree to moving forward.
