While the technology keeps on updating, the spine of any project, the management, has a way of making a difference. It is how strong and how intuitive a leader is, that sets the project apart. And this is true, not just regarding IT organizations, but every job that is there. My current roles and responsibilities as a Sr Executive - PMO (Project management Office) include working closely with project managers and delivery leaders to ensure all the projects of our account are aligned to corporate strategies and the finance and operational aspects are faring well. I also work on and keep track of onboarding and offboarding of resources, which can affect project budget while invoicing to client. I have upskilled myself so I can make my work easier by learning latest reporting tool and automation technology. Although I believe automation is required in every role you undertake, to reach peak efficiency. While I like the work I do, I am always looking for a new milestone to conquer. As they say, ‘knowledge is power’, I intend to sharpen my sense, gain more knowledge, and apply it in the best way possible. With increasing number of IT industries, flock of graduates applying to new jobs and changing trend of IT technologies, not many organizations can find the right balance. For example, while an experienced candidate is required, with the knowledge of a rare technology, it is a good strategy for the organization to start providing quality training of the same skillset to group of graduate candidates and onboard them to the project to keep cost to company low, while gaining multiple resources with important skill. The generation today is exceptional at technical advancements with the power of internet, seeming like their true potential is yet to be unveiled.
