I utilize an interdisciplinary method within the biopsychosocial framework as follows: interfaith ministry, Reiki energy healing, intuitive consulting, death midwifery, mindfulness work, and breathing exercises to help the dying and the bereaved find comfort in change. 2017-2020: Relational Advisor, Pellissippi State Community College ● This position was a work study position that involved my advising high-risk students on resources and methods to remain enrolled in the college. I was given a caseload of eighty-four students from historically marginalized groups. In addition to helping all eighty-four students in my caseload, I also spoke at symposia at the college, was a peer teaching professional, and tutor. 2020-2022: New Hire Search Committee/Workshop Facilitator, Maryville College ● As a member of the new hire search committee for TRIO student support center, I participate in panel-style interviews with potential candidates. I create written evaluations of the candidates that highlight strengths and areas that need improvement. I received more responsibility when I was asked to conduct virtual tours for candidates, facilitate sessions with students on human resource-related workshops, and was promoted to Supplemental Instruction Leader. Internship SPRING 2021- Maryville College Student Affairs: Prevention Education Intern ● Within the Sexual Assault Prevention and Education department, I created and implemented a program entitled Real Talk Space for students to discuss issues related to mental health in marginalized groups. This framework was intended to prepare students for their roles and responsibilities within the spaces, both professional and communal, that require cultural competency. Fellowship 2020-Present: McGill Leadership Fellow, Maryville College ● As a McGill fellow, I have had the opportunity to discuss social issues with local news outlets, write articles for news publications, and lead a cohort of incoming freshmen on social responsibility, public health, and education projects.
