Mercer County Democratic Party Minutes from October 5, 2023 Chairman Andrew Harkulich called the October 5th meeting of the Mercer County Democratic Meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was said and Chairman Harkulich read the Party’s Mission Statement. No Secretary’s Report was presented. Treasurer Kim Powell presented the Treasurer’s Report with a beginning balance of $ 12097.92 and ending balance of $ 12639.10 . Val Roth made a motion to file the report as read; seconded by Chuck Baldoff. All in favor, motion passed. Bills were presented as follows: Monthly Expenses (Office rent of $150) and Spectrum Internet and phone ($144.46 ), reimbursement to John Gallagher for purchase of Party t-shirts ($363.45), reimbursement to Kim Powell for Zoom, printer ink and postage ($50.97), reimbursement to Deb Fischer for rental of the meeting room ($40.00) and reimbursement to Diane Syphrit for State Committee expenses ($236.79). Lou Baldoff made a motion to approve paying all presented expenses; seconded by Brenda Epertherner. All in favor, motion passed. Area Reports: Sharon: No Report. Farrell: No report. North East Area: No report. North West Area: No report. South East Area: Area Leader Bev Graham spoke about the upcoming trivia fundraiser for CEASRA/No Trash Mountain. South West Area: Area Leader Brain Skibo had nothing new to report. Diane Syphrit spoke about the upcoming trash clean up for the portion of Rt. 62 adopted by MCDP. Kim Powell gave an update on the MCDP t-shirts which have been completed and available to pick up. A few extra remain that can be purchased for a $25 donation. Kim Powell also spoke about the upcoming NAACP banquet. At the last MCDP meeting, a motion was passed that was contingent on DWMC passing a motion on a joint Community Sponsorship for the event. The MCDP has 4 tickets from the Sponsoship that are available to any Democrats wishing to attend. Chairman Harkulich gave a report of State Committee information in the absence of Vice Chair Judu Hines. It was also relayed that Mark Amick has stepped down as Secretary and that Norene Holden was appointed by the Executive Committee. Thank you Mark for your past service. Kim Powell spoke about upcoming GOTV plans for the election including the importance of Ballot Chase phone calls. Chairman Harkulich spoke about an upcoming Union Block Walk for the Union endorsed candidates; all are invited to attend.
