Gambling is now a legitimate sector of the entertainment industry. In the 1990s, opposition emerged in North America but failed to build a social movement on a large scale. This book specifically examines one of these coalitions in Vancouver, Cana-da. The local anti-gambling movement is analyzed as an expression of civic and political engagement. The study focuses specifically on the process of denouncing gambling practices and their conversion into a "public issue." The author analyzes a highly relevant current social debate.Les jeux d’argent sont aujourd’hui considérés comme l’un des secteurs légi-times de l’industrie du divertissement. Dans les années 1990, diverses formes d’opposition à cette industrie ont émergé en Amérique du Nord, sans toutefois réussir à construire un mouvement social à large échelle. Ces op-positions ont la plupart du temps pris la forme de campagnes locales peu organisées et sporadiques, lancées pour faire échouer des modifications de législation ou contre certains projets spécifiques.Ce livre étudie spécifiquement l’une de ces coalitions observée dans la ré-gion de Vancouver, au Canada, à partir d’une série de controverses qui se sont succédées sur une dizaine d’années. Le mouvement antijeu local est analysé comme l’expression d’un engagement citoyen et politique. L’analyse porte en particulier sur le processus de dénonciation des pratiques de jeu d’argent et leur transformation en « problème public ». Les vifs débats so-ciaux et politiques qui entourent les jeux d’argent soulèvent la question de leur réglementation, de leur légitimité et, en fin de compte, du sens que la société doit accorder à cette forme de divertissement.À travers la contestation sociale et la négociation entre acteurs de la société civile et instances politiques et administratives, l’auteure analyse un débat de société d’une grande actualité auquel extrêmement peu de recherches ont été consacrées, alors que l’expansion des diverses formes de jeux d’argent gagne en puissance un peu partout dans le monde et requiert des travaux scien-tifiquement pertinents et diversifiés.

Today, most large port hubs include the circular economy transformation challenge, together with smart digitalization and Internet of Things (IoT), in their strategic priorities. Opportunities are also created, and port authorities and businesses need to embrace circular learning and turn these projects into sustainable business models. This strategic change or refocus requires new insights into innovative governance and business frameworks, the link between strategy and commercially viable business models, systems innovation, intensified stakeholder collaboration and co-creation, altered traffic segments and hinterland focus, amongst others. These Special Issue articles address current CE transition concerns salient to port strategists and managers, such as first strategic changes towards circular ports, building awareness on the importance of sustainability data and available space, and how port authorities can develop circular business models.

Is research on antisemitism even necessary in countries with a relatively small Jewish population? Absolutely, as this volume shows. Compared to other countries, research on antisemitism in the Nordic countries (Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden) is marginalized at an institutional and staffing level, especially as far as antisemitism beyond German fascism, the Second World War, and the Holocaust is concerned.
