What Can a CT Scan Reveal That an Ultrasound Cannot

Sikund Diagnostic Centre

CT Scan and Ultrasound are commonly used diagnostic imaging tests, but they provide different types of information. Ultrasound uses sound waves to examine organs such as the liver, kidneys and gallbladder, while CT Scan uses X-rays to create detailed cross-sectional images of the body. A CT Scan may help detect internal injuries, certain tumours, complex fractures and abnormalities that are difficult to assess through Ultrasound, particularly when bowel gas or bone obstructs the view.
