Holidays: 20 days holiday (plus bank holidays) Hours: 40 hours per week Location: Full Circle Brewing, Unit 167 Hoults Yard, Walker Rd, Newcastle, NE6 2HL Start Date: Feb 2020 Company Overview Full Circle Brew Co is part of Lanchester Wine Cellars Ltd, an independent, family-owned wine merchant and bottler which has a focus on delivering quality products and service over dividends, striving to be both flexible and fast moving in line with the ever-changing wine sector. Our brewery and tap room is located within Hoults Yard, Newcastle. On site we have a 30HL four-vessel brewhouse from SSV, 300HL of fermentation capacity and a 6000cph Moravek rotary counter pressure filling canning line. We currently have a small core range and brew seasonal and collaboration beers on a regular basis, packaged in both can and keg. We are looking for a brewer to join our passionate team who has the desire to push for excellence and who wishes to influence the products, processes and development of Full Circle as we grow. The brewer will be expected to work with the brewery team to develop new recipes and will get the opportunity to brew their own recipes on our 100L pilot kit. Main duties Wort production Cellaring work including fermentation management, yeast management, tank transfers, dry hopping, and CIP Packing – Kegs and Can CIP Supporting other brewers and team members Accurate recording of brewing data QC and QA – pre/post fermentation and packaged beer Represent Full Circle Brewing at trade exhibitions, events and tastings (sometimes during evenings and weekends) Data entry to brewing software (brewman) Work with brewery team to tweak our current beers and develop new recipes Brew their own recipes on our 100L pilot kit Additional Duties may include Organising brewery space Stock movements and stocktaking Project work Supervise brewing students or apprentices Sharing any out of hours or weekend cellaring work/brewery functions and Brewery Tours Managing brew schedule with Brewery Team Requirements Brewing experience or qualification A passion for good beer Good knowledge of the technical and scientific aspects of brewing Attention to detail and good time management Understanding of the cleaning and hygiene requirements of a brewery Ability to handle and lift 25KG malt sacks Basic computer skills Good work ethic High level of verbal and written communication skill Legal right to work in the UK Desirable Full, clean UK driving license Forklift license (training can be provided) To apply for this role please send CV and cover letter to [email protected]
