Media sources like to discusses how young people work, specifically focusing on the rise of the gig economy, remote work, and “quiet quitting.” However, there is little discussion about the careers young people actually want to pursue. The state of play: The job market in the US remains tight at the start of 2023. With young employees potentially having more autonomy with job placement choices, aspects like company mission and ethics are thought to play a big role in the ultimate decision. But when young people think about their overall careers, and not just their next immediate job, what priorities are top of mind?
