Power of the Word Podcast rules for submission: 1) THIS IS NOT A SELF-PROMOTION PLATFORM. All works submitted must be officially published poems from someone other than you. No exceptions. 2) You are limited to three submissions per month. 3) You are limited to one poem or short story per submission. 4) Below is a list of all poems and short stories previously covered with the associated date. Once a piece has been covered, it will no longer be covered until three months after its appearance on the podcast. Pieces on the list are effectively banned from consideration until their removal from the list. 5) Because of the nature of the podcast, you as the submitter are required to produce at least a one-page single space analysis of the poem you are submitting. This will be posted as your cover letter. We are not looking for anything specific in the cover letter, we simply want proof that you’ve given the poem or short story enough thought to share a meaningful perspective on the podcast. We, the hosts, promise you that for each piece chosen we will do the same. 6) All submissions, including the cover letter, must be either in a word document, a text document, a google word document, directly in the body of the email, or in some form that allows us to manipulate the text itself. We do not accept PDFs of any submissions. 7) If your poem is chosen, you will be given a one-week notice that you will be featured as a guest on our show. If you do not show at the time specified in the email we send you, you will get one strike. Once obtaining two strikes, you will be blacklisted from submitting. 8) All aforementioned rules are subject to change without warning, at any time, at the sole discretion of the host John Hanifin. Here is the desired format for the email submission: Subject: Full name. Name of the poem/story submitted. Name of the publication(s) where the poem appears. Body: Cover Letter (or as an attachment in the correct format, see rule 6). Poem/Story (or as an attachment in the correct format, see rule 6). POEMS/STORIES CURRENTLY BANNED FROM CONSIDERATION: (None as of right now).
