Introduction The following book is a grimoire for someone with an interest in magick who is otherwise a complete novice and or beginner. I have no doubt that if you are a skilled and acclaimed occultist that this book won’t serve you much purpose. Perhaps it might in some respects. But overall there's no ancient secrets here. Not on the surface and not for most who will pick it up. That won’t stop some from reading it despite this however. Read to your heart's content. For the skeptics that picked up this grimoire for whatever reason I hope it serves you well. Magick can’t be run on belief alone. While useful and even a tool in some operations that’s not all there is to it. Magick that works will work for you and anybody else every time regardless of whether or not you believe in it. Magick doesn’t just work sometimes for some people. It works every single time for everyone who tries it if it's legit. Magick will even work for a harcdore skeptic and atheist given they have an open enough mind to try it and follow the proper instructions. Though a warning to those people specifically that they may find it rather silly at the start. Magick isn’t a game. No matter how silly you think it is to pick off poppy seeds for a curse, or to lick a candle to form a bond with it, magick is real. Magick will have you doing some pretty weird and silly things. Some of what it has you doing, you may find downright stupid. If you don’t believe in it you might find you're even reluctant to do it properly for this reason. Don’t be an idiot. If you think it’s stupid and want to try it out of whatever curiosity you have, follow it to the instruction. Because if you are wrong and fuck up that demonic evocation you could die or be cursed or exploited and then you find out it is real in the worst possible way. Truly a skeptic who is one of reason and rational wouldn't take the risk however improbable of doing a ritual wrong on account of it properly being performed being seen as ridiculous right? “Don’t be stupid, stupid” - Phillip Defranco. Truly if you are a skeptic and you desire results whether because you find it interesting, you are desperate in some area of your life, it sparks curiosity or to prove it assine, if you do not follow the instructions accurately, I promise you will hurt yourself or run into unforeseen consequences. Plus what good will it do if you don’t get your answers? Doing it wrong would prevent that. If you do it wrong you won’t see results. So whatever your reasoning my dear skeptic, do it right even if you feel silly or stupid for doing so. You will appreciate this advice now, later. Now then for the believers who picked up this book know this. Magick is not without risk. It is not without consequence. There is no such thing as “white magick” or “black magick” if you absolutely must use those terms they tend to fair subjectively upon your own morality and philosophy. They don’t exist. Despite the title of this book I’m not going to be teaching you “black magick” because “black magick” does not exist. If you think it does I promise you, there will be millions of people who disagree with your specific definition. So no I will not be teaching you “black magick”. But what I will teach you is taboo magick. Occult magick. Left handed magick. Demonic magick. Magick that fairs on the ostracized absurd. Magick that has a sort of self obsessed allure and magick focused on personal gain. Left handed operations. Magick that many might consider “dark” or “evil” based upon their religious beliefs or their own morality. That is what the title implies when it says “a complete beginners guide to black magick”. Likewise I won’t be showing you how to “sell your soul” either. We’ll establish how I’ll be using this term later within the book and we will use it quite a bit. But magick isn’t a cheat code. You have to work for whatever you do. Magick isn’t going to suddenly land you that 5 star acting hollywood role when you have no agent, or make you the most famous musician/rapper of all time when you can’t pick up an instrument or even make a beat. “Selling your soul” in the way that we will be discussing does not do this. You have to work for your goals. Magick can ensure they happen. Magick can boost them into fruition. Magick can benefit your aspirations in ways you cannot fathom. Magick can create opportunities for you that you never dreamed. But it does not allow you to cheat your way there with little to no effort at all. If you want to be a billionaire and you have no job or money making ambitions and you do a spell to become wealthy it’s not going to happen. Know that. If you picked up this book for that reason I’m sorry to disappoint. You have to give the magick an avenue for whatever you seek else it not work or worse it works and backfires spectacularly. Not to mention that “Selling your soul” the way most people imagine doesn’t really exist at all. But there is a real life equivalent. That’s what we will discuss in depth in this book. Now I ask you approach this book with an open mind. Since you are new to the craft presumably there are going to be some weird and wild concepts introduced to you. Follow the instructions properly and do what you're told and you will see results. You can only brush off what is happening here as “lucky” or a “coincidence” so many times before you start to connect the dots. I encourage you however skeptical to try the operations, for after all if it isn’t real then you have nothing to lose but on the off chance it is you also have everything to gain. I plead to the skeptic reading for a few reasons. One, no matter how interested you are picking up this book there's a chance I will introduce concepts to you that you don’t believe in. There's a chance you're a hardcore atheist and skeptic (though those things are not mutually exclusive) reading. There's a chance you think magick is a joke. If you believe in everything I tell you then there's still going to be something that catches your eye that you will disagree with. After all, I am not Aleister Crowley. So I plead to the skeptic. Not because I think a boat load of skeptics are going to somehow take note of this book. Though, if such occured know I saw it coming. But rather because every smart occultist embraces skepticism to a degree and those new to magick who this book is for, carry a great deal more than they are willing to admit. So I ask instead of reading every word nodding your head no, breaking down my points and saying “that’s so stupid” that I write for you, that instead you get caught up in the absurdity of my words, that you simply embrace the stupidity and insanity for a moment and keep an open mind. After all wouldn't it be more entertaining that way? Now then. On with the book and it’s table of contents. TABLE OF CONTENTS How to Avoid Confusion and Understanding That You are a Beginner What is divination? How to become a master of a skill How to read between the lines What is a demon? Numerology Astral projection Lucid dreaming Wards and the basics how to’s of protection Avoiding a Christian Mindset How to Avoid Confusion and Understanding You’re a Beginner Let’s start off with a few pointers. A few tips and tricks for the modern age. Avoid tumblr, forums, and reddit on the accounts of magick. Do thorough book based research before believing the first google answer you receive. This may seem like common sense but trust me it’s not. It’s great that we live in a new age where people can look up anything and get any sort of answer. However. This should not always be done or taken at face value. Published work (traditional preferred) in the matter will always be more recorful than what some joke on the internet thinks. While you’re researching magick start with cold hard ancient grimoires. If you can get past the Victorian and Elizabethan English which you will eventually have to, they will teach you so much more via a translation then anything you find from some youtube vlogger who thinks putting salt in her tea while chanting a few words is magick. Anything can be enchanted and you can create a system that allows for what I just described, but if your new and you don’t have the skills to do so, that won’t get you anywhere and you’re better off watching Harry Potter. Not everything is magick. Not everything should be magick. Magick wasn’t preserved the way it was in secret with tradition for years because anything can and should be magick. Magick is in many ways is a science. Magick is ritualistic for a reason. There are steps to performing rituals for a reason. The objects and incantations matter for a reason. Also- what I just said is the usual application I teach to beginners but it can also be bent entirely, you can enchant magic into your coding of video games, or time travel or reality shift with it. But that stuff is so advanced and misunderstood and making systems for it is so advanced, that it will not be what I will teach you. It is in many ways a science, steps must be performed accurately in order for a result to emerge. For example don’t go practicing Santeria if you are not comfortable with animal sacrifice. For what I’m going to be teaching you I recommend the work of S. Connolly, Taylor Ellwood, anything but E.A Koetting, V.K Jenhanium, William R. Wraith and there's even a recommended reading page to get you on the right track at the end of this book as well as a suggested list of skillsets you might wish to acquire. At the start you probably won’t be able to tell the difference between someone who is living an escapist fantasy with their beliefs and someone who’s an acclaimed occultist. At the start of your magickal journey you are just not going to be able to tell the difference. You may understand why and even the reasons why, one is more valid than another. But if I present the texts of both to you and they are written in the same demeanor and style you most likely won’t be able to tell why one is more or less true than the other. This is okay. Don’t beat yourself up about it. Every magician has to start somewhere and at the start you just can’t tell. That’s why I’m giving you the recommendations and telling you what to avoid. It’s why I’m giving you other books to read per subjects mentioned in this book. Not everyone who spews knowledge about spirituality is right. Some occultists are acclaimed for a reason. There are occultists who are scoffed at for a reason. Not all of this is equal and the fact that some people believe this or that doesn’t change the fact that not all of this is. The thing about the truth is it’s going to stay the same no matter what you’re perspective is, and the reality of magick is the same way. I'll even have a section on here that tells you what to avoid in certain areas of study such as “red flags” when reading up on works about the keys of Solomon and such practices related. Another thing you’ll find at the start is a lot of this information is conflicting. Thus it is confusing and frustrating. What I suggest you do is look at someone with a reputation. Someone acclaimed, someone with a good history of proven techniques and follow their work. It doesn’t matter if you hate them for their morals as a person or even if they were a bigot or known for something awful. It doesn’t matter how they advertise their work or if they use theatrics. All that matters is their work itself. While I don’t agree with this concept in the real world, in regards to magickal practice you must absolutely separate the artist from their art. Or in this case the magician from their magick and their teachings. You need to be able to set aside that magician’s racist, sexist, abusive, exploitative, terrible, political, or even creepy history in order to read their critically acclaimed genre re-defining work. You will thank me later. #crowley Once you have found a magician that is so acclaimed historically who’s work you like or who’s acclaimed in the modern age then I want you to read up on everything that magician has written. See what works, see what you disagree with and if you as an ameature disagree with the work try to think critically about why the operation is said to work at all and find your dissatisfaction within that reasoning and logic. Then eventually you’ll have a decent understanding from this work to at least go off of when you start to branch out within other practices and topics. A lot of new magicians treat magick like a game of hot potato. They are on one pathworking this day and on a religious doctrinless ritual work completely unrelated the next. I don’t suggest you do this. I get why people do this but as a beginner you are not there yet. Magick is vast and there is a wide in array of knowledge. Pick 1 to 3 topics you are interested in. Then for the first several months and years do your best to specialize in those topics. If you find yourself bored on those topics and wanting to explore others after a while feel free to dabble but keep studying what you were studying in the first place should it provide results and fulfillment. I often know the quote “Jack of all trades worse than a master of one, but still better than a master of none” which is an idiom in English and I don’t agree with that. Being really well educated in my experience on one or two things will ultimately benefit you better than knowing a little about everything. At least in regards to practice. While you do need a vast knowledge of different tech it’s important to know one thing. Magick is a skillset. To compare it to real world skills, don’t expect to be a master musician if you only know how to play a few notes on every instrument you come across. However do expect to become an expert if you practice guitar for years to the degree you can play any song someone hands you by listening alone. Once you get skilled enough in those few areas of magick you can start to see crossover value with the new material that you want to engage in. Thus you will ultimately benefit your practice in the end and open yourself up to new knowledge you wouldn't have else known. This is all advice and by no means any sort of doctrine on these matters, feel free to disregard it but it’s what worked for me and by following this practice you can eliminate so many mistakes you would otherwise make including ones I have made. Explore new tech and systems sure, but make sure you have an area you’re skilled at. Which hand should I use? There's two approaches to magick I will discuss with you in this book. They are parallel to each other and truly a serious occultist can only be one or the other. The left handed path and the right handed path. The right handed path is the path of emergence. The path of merging into or bowing down to the divine. It’s an approach to magick. It might involve the worship or gods or a singular God and regarding that for your magickal endeavours. The right handed path is an intent of bowing down to the divine feeling it more than you, and feeling it above you and through that obedience becoming of it. Following the flow of it. When you die you bow to the thrown serving your purpose. The left handed path is the path of becoming. The path of rising. The path you take to become that of the divine itself. Here you pull upon your own consciousness and while gods may be involved and other spirits as well, you are primarily calling upon that of your own divinity. You are the center of the operation. You become more than what you were. You are God not one of the ‘Gods’. On the left handed path when you die and see the thrown you sit on it. You are God rather than serving god. Despite the fact that this book will teach you some Hoodoo operations it is primarily a book of the left handed approach. There are operations within this book that may seem right handed but I will primarily be teaching you left handed work. If that upsets you or isn't your approach to magick this book may not be for you. Know one thing, that once you take on the left handed path you will no longer be able to change your approach. After a certain point you will not be able to turn back. You have begun your ascension. A dark ascension. It is a dark path. There's no turning back now. What is magick? Magick is causing change in your world through supernatural means. That’s it. Magick itself is a thing of change. You will change if you do magick properly. Into what I hear you ask? Nothing in particular but you will. Once you choose to go on a magickal left handed journey you can’t go back. Once you welcome what I will be showing you into your life it never leaves. Whether it be a demon or The Black Man at the crossroads. Magick is inherently that of the supernatural. The art of paranormal cause and affect. The very nature of changing your future and destiny. Even weaving your own destiny in some cases. So that is what magick is. That is what I’ll be showing you how to do. How to create a spell Let’s get one thing out of the way. You should really have experience trying out other people’s spells and rituals before creating your own. After a while of testing out other peoples spells and dissecting them you will naturally be able to tell what works and what doesn’t and piece together through trial and error your own methods of doing things. The way to learn magick is just to do magick. That being said it’s kind of hard to make a basic tutorial on creating a spell given the nature of magick. But here we go. A spell is essentially creating change in your world through supernatural means. That’s it. It differs from a ritual in that rituals tend to be more elaborate and spells are often one off. To create a spell you will need what we call equivalents. Something to represent the change you want to see in the world. This could be spices or stones or even photos depending on what you want to do. Everything has a property and a correspondence magickally. For example Garlic is often used to ward. Cinnamon can be used in love spells and so on. Then you need something to tie these equivalents together. This can be a jar, a box, and envelope, a fire, a chant, burying the items on someones property and so on. You may also add a sort of methodology. Some sort of action tying everything together. Such as saying a chant over a dollie or drawing lines on a petition paper and or folding a card over and over again to give it power and umph. Once you have done all of these things you now have a recipe for a spell. Your spells may not work at first. Magick in its essence is trial and error. It’s like cooking and creating recipes. If you just add ketchup to a casadia it may not taste right. But if you add it to potatoes or a hotdog it will. You need to have experience trying out other peoples formulas when baking before you can just go improvising a cake, and as with cooking the first couple cakes you make are not gona be the best. Once again don’t beat yourself up about it magick is a skillset that takes time to develop. Not everything can be magick. So when you’re discovering what can be it is going to be a messy learning process. What is divination? Divination if we are to break it down in a way that which a child could understand, is the art of providing insight and seeing into the future. Or rather seeing possible futures and possible outcomes. One thing you should know is that most people consider time to be linear. You go from point A to point B. You do something in the past that ends up with a result in the present which then leads to the future. Time however, does not work this way. It’s not linear. It’s chaotic in regards to such a model. When most people jump into describing divination we usually start with Tarot Cards. After all in our culture they are easy to understand and a good reference point. Tarot is the act of “seeing the future” through a bunch of cards in a deck. Each card is given a meaning via it’s suit, you ask a question, then based on how they are shuffled, they are then drawn and in the order they are placed it conveys an outcome. Tarot doesn’t actually tell you the future. It tells you possible futures. It’s a tool of insight. It tells you what could happen, not what will happen. If you ever meet a tarot reader who’s been doing it for a long amount of time they will tell you that the cards aren’t always accurate but when they are they are scarily so. This is for that reason. They tell possible futures and give advice on it so if they tell the future that you ended up finding yourself in then it will be completely accurate. However if they tell of an avenue that didn’t end up happening either because you changed action do to the card’s advice or because your question was phrased on a shaky possibility, it is still just as accurate but it’s just not the timeline you found yourself in. If you ask the cards how well you’ll be liked at for a job you just applied for the cards will accurately tell you how people will like you at that job. But if you don’t end up getting that job it’s not the cards fault they told you how well liked you would be, should you have gotten it. They told you accurately what you asked but it’s not their fault that you didn’t get the job. This is something to keep in mind for tarot. As with all divination it’s more so a tool for retro and introspect. This example also relies on the cards telling you that rather than just flat out saying you wouldn't get it at all, or discouraging you from the job which has also been my experience. It’s important to know that each deck has a personality. Each deck has a vibe and will answer questions in it’s own way per that vibe. Not every deck is rude and harsh, a deck’s personality has nothing to do with “whether or not you take it’s advice” each deck is like a person in a way, it has its own way of going about things. My deck “The Mermaid Tarot” by Leeza Robertson and illustrated by Julie Dillon has always been very kind to me. It’s also been incredibly literal in regards to my readings with it. I used have the deck “Easy Tarot” by Josephine Ellershaw and that deck to me was rude and harsh but stunningly accurate. These tarot decks both know the same information but how they present it to you matters and differs per deck. It will answer your questions dependent on it’s personality. You won’t like every deck you use, you may need to search for one that works well with you. The decks don’t have to be gifts either that is a false superstition I promise. Most tarot decks will come with some sort of booklet that will teach you each cards meaning and how to interpret them per the style of that deck. The tower might be devastating in one tarot set and depressingly optimistic in another. Though for most decks the suits meanings won’t change drastically like that. Regarding this booklet do not become reliant on it. In Tarot each card carries a portrait. While another person's intention of making the portrait and interpretation of the portrait can be useful at the start, the cards direct meaning ie it’s suit, “the chariot”,” the page of swords”, or “death”, always goes beyond what’s intended. What is drawn in the card matters just as much as it’s suit. How is death drawn and portrayed? Does the scene painted look like a happy one or a tragic one? Is the scene metaphorical or literal? Is something dead and are people grieving? Is it a corpse or is it a glass vase cracked on the floor? Read the card’s meaning ie it’s suit “the ten of cups” “death” “the sun” and so on but also look at the painting on the card itself. What does that meaning tell you about the question you asked? How does what’s drawn correspond with what your asking? Does your situation mirror the picture at all? Does it contrast with your reality? What does the picture tell you and how can you use what you find in regards to that in your reading? Tarot is a tool so you should use all of the tool that is available to you. Divination is calling upon omniscience (the act of knowing everything) within yourself. There aren’t spirits moving the cards around for you. That can be done through spirit work but that is primarily not how Tarot operates or is meant to. When you do divination you are calling upon your own omniscience and tapping into that yourself. While most tools do not work this way, most tools are magickal and you are wielding that magick, the cards themselves while magickally inclined are just the tool you are using to do this act. The cards aren’t the magick in this scenario. You are the magick. The cards are just how you're doing that magick. Omniscience can be achieved on your own without tarot cards or tools. I’ve done it. The cards are just how you’re channeling it in these scenarios. It’s an aid in a way. This being said there is so much more to divination then simply tarot cards. We’re going to discuss 5 methods here and I will give you exercises to practice each. If you need pointers because you are interested in for card divination specifically I highly suggest the books: (A deck of spells hoodoo playing carry magic in footwork and conjure ) (book b) (book c) and (book d) to get your started thinking about it beyond, fancy cards tell me the future. Indeed time doesn’t strictly work in lines of “past, present, future” and thinking of divination in that way can limit your understanding of such things. Even when your using a tool that is useful in such a model as in Tarot. In order to understand divination. You must first understand time. What is time? Most people imagine a straight line. A timeline if you will. Person A dropped a banana peel in the past and person b slips on this banana peel in the present causing the future where person b falls down. They fall because of the past action of person A. People assume past action = future result or future consequence. That’s wrong. Time isn’t a strict line. It’s not linear. It’s not a paint by the number cause of events. It’s more like a pool of ink you’re constantly drugging in with new colors or possibilities being added routeinly. Let me give you a graphic because this metaphor is getting away from me. That’s how most people see time, and consider it to work. This infographic while valuable is wrong in many ways, and let’s explain why. It’s true to a certain extent that time is perceived linearly. But time to me is more like a hand. The base of the hand is the palm that holds the direct action of the event. The fingers of the hand are the different outcomes based upon that action. Each finger is in it’s way it’s own result of the action leading to a new reality that it holds. Each reality is inherently it’s own substance prone to being changed and altered given proper methods on a whim. In this graphic the hand is a metaphor for the base of the timeline and the alternate realities that will result from it. Feel free to ignore the rest of what is drawn in the illustration, that is there for people who are a bit more advanced. Sorry for the crudeness of the drawing I’m giving out this grimoire for free and I can’t afford an artist. In regards to divination it’s a good idea to use the tool for insight. Some of my favorite forms of divination are the following, clayomancy, shufflemancy, and quoting. These concepts are ones I have discovered myself but ones I feel personally have been channeled by others before so if you recognize the method but not the name that’s why. The first one is a method I came up with myself. You start by taking a brick of clay. A small square of it, small enough to fit within your hand. Then you focus on your question and begin to twist the clay. The clay will then form within the twists of it, images that relate to the question you asked answering it in a sort of way or telling omens of the future. Thinking of time in a nonlinear motion can allow new insight via this and other realties. It can provide insight into the causation of the event as well as tell you what’s happening outside the box you often find yourself thinking in. This applies to how you read the signs of the clay and other forms of divination. The second method I would like to show to you is shufflemancy. This is best done digitally with a library of 300 - 500 + mp3 songs on your laptop or computer. There should be the option of varying genre, theme and tone. For example, if you only have punk rock songs about anarchy this method will work poorly for you. But if you have sad songs, ballads, love songs, groolish pop and angry rock then it will give you better results. It should not be done with a service like Spotify or Pandora given how the shuffle options on those apps operate. You should be using your computer and it’s own library given how the shuffle options on those apps tends to operate. Take your computer or other modern music playing device. Then focus on your intention. Skip the songs a certain amount of time using the “shuffle” option while focusing your intent on the question you asked. Should you have a device with a smart shuffle feature the landing song will provide insight as to what you asked. This is best done in a repeated cycle, with two to three songs given to provide insight as to the question. Basically you ask a question and the songs provide the answer. This can even be tweaked to be used with the radio. The last method of divination I will present to you is what I call quoting. It has a proper name but that is how we’ll be referring to it. Start by grabbing a big book. A novella is perfect for this though books of poetry, plays, and even dictionaries can also be used. Then focus on your question. Hold the book for a moment in a way almost asking the book itself then flip to a random page. Then take your finger to a random page and pick a quote. The answer to your question is there. A good method/exercise I’ve found is filling up normal notebook with random answers related to you specifically and your practice and then using this book as a divination method. I call it in my own practice “divination books” notebooks like the one I suggest you make can even be used upon or called upon in more elaborate rituals. How to Become a Master of A Skill (A Crossroads Ritual) Let me be upfront about this. You are not selling your soul through this ritual. The entity you call upon in this ritual is not the Christian devil. If you’re a Christian reading this you will by no means go to hell for doing this ritual. This ritual enters you into an agreement with an entity to help you become the master of a given skill. In many ways the entity himself will aid you in your progresion. This entity is not a “demon” and we will cover those (how they aren’t evil or what you think they are) as well as how they operate later. I work with demons and I promise you they are not the same as this spirit. This entity to my knowledge and experience is very much a Hoodoo/Vodou one. This entity though scary and one that will test you (sometimes by fear, sometimes through other means) is not evil in any way. By doing this ritual you will acquire the skillset you desire and he will aid you. He'll stay apart of your life always helping you in it’s mastery. However the skillset in question must be doable. It must be a skill of action. Something like a task. For example, if you want to become good at “business” to be as broad as possible it won’t work. You can’t actively do “Business” with your hands. If you want to become a boxer it won’t work. How could you be boxing in the scenario you will find yourself presented in to perform this ritual? However if you want to become a singer? Can you actively sing? Is that an action you can perform? If the answer is yes, then it is doable. Is there an object that represents music? Like a microphone? If the answer is yes then it is doable. What about guitar? Is there an object that you associate with guitar? Yes there is. Is guitar something you do, ie, an action? Yes? Then it is doable. What about drawing or sculpting? Clearly a tablet and pottery wheel are objects and they are actions you do so yes it is doable. Make sure whatever object you’re bringing with you is in good condition as this object's power will be how you hone your skill. Whatever you are trying to get good at, it is important that you have both an object that represents it as well as the fact that it can be performed in some way. If you’re trying to get good at lying this action won’t work necessarily. This ritual is perfectly taylored for musical skill sets. Such as violin, guitar, the banjo, or piano (keyboard?) if you’re brave enough. Another thing to take note. The timing matters. Rituals require synchrosity for a reason. Repetition matters here. The way I present this ritual to you, you will not have to make a physical sacrifice such as ruining your fingers or hurting yourself. The offering for this ritual is time and service unless it is communicated to you elsewise. You are giving The Black Man (Legba) your time by going per the 9 days and doing the action for the set amount of time and he will expect service in return. That is the offering you are making him in exchange for the skill. This is the ritual of The Black Man at the Crossroads. There are many different versions in many different faiths and paths of this ritual. However this is the general reference. The black references his attire, the clothes he wears rather than his race which is not to say when you encounter him that he won’t be Black in race but rather the reason he has this name is his clothes. When entities approach you in the real world (which does happen and while not guaranteed, can occur with this ritual) my findings or experience that I’ve found is that they take a form pleasing to you or that of something you can understand, all spirits in all forms physical or otherwise often play off your expectations. I cannot promise you that he will appear to you the way he appeared to me and vise versa. For me, he looked like a bald man Black in race, wearing a black suit with limited orange coloring, but he may have been presenting to my biases. I know your probably thinking “get on with it Acrians” however it’s important to cover basic ground before I introduce you to a ritual itself. The crossroads are a place of magick. There are many entities associated with it. From the 3 faced Hekate of Greek Hellenism to Voodoo’s Papa Legba. While technically the Black Man is his own entity I heavily associate him with Legba. Normally if you go into this ritual thinking your going to find Odin, Lebga, Hekate or some other god or spirit of this place you will be disappointed. This is normally because you’re not calling on those entities. You’re calling on The Black Man himself. Despite this though my research and experiences have led me to believe he is correlated with Legba somewhat even if I can’t place how. Next thing I want to mention is completion of this ritual. It’s never a good idea to cut a ritual off half way. I’ve learnt that the hard way via the Grand Grimoire. Bad mental health can cause that. This ritual is not for the weak willed, the fearful or the mentally ill. If you plan to do this ritual for whatever skill you desire it is important you follow it accurately. Don’t skimp. No matter what you see don’t start if you can’t commit. If you don’t want to put forth the 9 days required then there are other versions of this ritual out there that for you, that will require less time but other sacrifices. If you decide to go with the 9 days you must then stick with the 9 days and no matter your circumstances and you must arrange that it is done accordingly. I don’t care if it’s hazing or a snow storm. If it’s raining or you are scared of your own shadow. Unless your leg is cut off I expect you to stick with it. Even if your guitar gets damaged in the rain. This ritual is to be performed at a crossroads. A crossroads is an area of paths that makes a “+” shape within the road. Some people think it’s a “v” shape. It’s not a “v” shape. You need to pick an abandoned place. A place mostly deserted or not used by the general public. I personally used a construction site. What matters is that the place was once busting with life and now is no longer. Abandoned places, or construction sites are good for this sort of thing. In order to find this place you should best look at a map of your town and go driving around trying to find it. You must go alone. There can be no person or spirit with you. Once you’ve started get there a little before midnight. Don’t arrive too early or even a moment late. It’s important you’re on time each night. While you can be early I wouldn't recommend it. The closer you arrive to 12 the better. Do your skill for 30 minutes to an hour. The Black Man was always urging me to stay longer per the ritual in my experience. He wanted me stay as long as possible each night. While you’re there you may find yourself scared, uncomfortable, cold or the weather conditions far from ideal. Bring an umbrella okay? One night I had to play my guitar in the rain and his (my guitar’s) neck got damaged. Continue doing the skill anyways. These can be a form of test by The Black Man. Other people have noted that he tests by fear and while I experienced some for the most part I was tested by him but not in this way. Regarding the weather it was perfect at the start of the ritual for me but I noticed upon beginning there were often storms, and cold fronts that I had not prepared for or common for the season I found myself in. The Black Man is a storm entity. If you see storms per this ritual it is a sign from him. And before you ask just because the news or whatever predicts there will be a storm does not mean The Black Man isn’t the one causing it to occur. Throughout this ritual you may see yourself getting demonic or even Hoodoo imagery. You may find yourself seeing people wearing black clothes, or black animals or insects across your path. Each night given the location I chose he sent me black insects that uncharacteristically would approach me, watch me, and listen to me as I played my guitar. These creatures and people are not The Black Man himself but rather things he is sending across your path. On the final night you should continue as normal. It’s not guaranteed that he will show up in person. But he will be there at least in spirit. If you encounter him in person what will happen is that you will see a man dressed in all black. He will watch you for a while then he will ask for your item and toy with it. He will hand it back to you and you will find the skill bestowed. However he does not always greet you in person. The deal is still struck and you will still find yourself a master of the skill even if you end up going home without an encounter. He is a spirit. He doesn’t physically appear for everyone. But he will still help you granted you do the ritual properly. This is why I find it good to have a set time to go and a set time to leave. I find he has a white energy or mist I see whenever he is present in the room. I’m hyper aware of energy and he was there each night and still is often with me and aiding in my skill set of guitar. He didn’t physically meet me outside of my dreams, but he was there each night and he did test me and I did receive the skill I asked for. It’s important to know that if you also work with demons they may not play well with him. I had one demonic King end our agreement for this reason. Double check with all your spirits or gods before performing this ritual for there might be an unforeseen conflict of interest. He is a Voodoo spirit. While dual observance is a real thing not all spirits are comfortable with it or would agree to it. If you do spirit work you need to take this into account. He will be present while you do the skill. You won’t find you wake up a master of it. But it will come strikingly easier to you than previously. For example I found myself better at chords I had always struggled with and began to hear the guitar more strongly in songs than before. My family often commented on how I was “getting the hang of it” when I had studied years with it to no avail. In a lot of ways it will come naturally to you. It won’t be nearly as challenging as it had been in the past. You will find you learn things about the skill a lot easier and may even find yourself trying to do things you didn’t consider before. This is the Black Man aiding in you endeavour. He doesn’t really go away. He hangs around as you’re doing the thing. How else could he help you after all? This will end in you becoming a skill of the thing. Congratulations! Regarding the service he asks for in return…. Lastly after this ritual was completed for me I found myself pushed upon a vodou esc path previously unaccustomed. This upset some of the spirits I was working with at the time. This is most definitely a Vodou/hoodoo ritual. Everything from the man being referred to as the devil which has connotations beyond christianity to what you are thinking to the importance of crossroads within it. it is very Vodou in nature and far from celtic as some may claim. How to Read Between the Lines What is reading between the lines? In magick especially the occult specifically, knowledge is often hidden. However it is often hidden in plain site. It often presents itself in a way where someone in the know can notice it instantly, and someone who is not will never be aware. The art of hiding this in plain sight is known as reading between the lines. Reading between the lines boils down to a few specific things. Primarily these things are perspective, double entendres, placement, and code words/phrases. I’ll start you off with some basics. Dancing is a code work for demonic or occult esc magick. Left hand and Right hand in any modern references is talking about those paths in magick. Asleep means you cannot be aware of your surroundings magickally or you don’t recognize they are there. Blind while ableist in this regard also refers to this but rather it is impossible to see this stuff surrounding you. Awake means you see the magick around you and you are aware of it. Writing between the lines differs heavily depending on whether it’s in a magickal modern context such as a movie or a song, or if it’s in the form of a written grimoire that has hidden knowledge for those who want to dig further. I’m providing most modern examples that you can find surrounding your environment but there is far more to reading between the lines than this. This is something you only get good at by trying to think of things differently, ie, from different perspectives and waking up. It’s hard to notice at first or write a definitive guide on it. But I can point you in the right direction. We’ll start with music because it’s easier. Exercise: try to decode the following songs: Avoid their music videos and focus on the lyrics of them. The videos will distract you from the magick of the song and what it’s trying to say. You can look up lyric videos for them but you need to focus on the words of the music as that’s where the knowledge is hidden. Are there common themes within these songs? Are the musicians left handed or right handed and what are they spiritually trying to convey? Riptide ||| Vance Joy [indie/alternative] The Draw ||| Bastille [slow, indie rock/indie pop] We Don’t Have to Dance ||| Andy Black [pop/rock with metal influence] Under the Ladder ||| MELOVIN [pop] Holding on to You ||| Twenty One Pilots [alternative rock] The Otherside ||| The Greatest Showman [musical/theatre] This Song is On the Nose But I Wrote it For You ||| Compulsive Ink [indie] Boulevard of Broken Dreams ||| Green Day [punk rock] So it Goes ||| Taylor Swift [pop] Dark Horse ||| Katy Perry [pop] Dead Hearts ||| Starz [hardcore] Viva La Vida ||| ColdPlay [Baroque pop] I promise each of these songs is written between the lines one way or another. Some more overt than others. Some even have a spiritual lineage. Try to pick one you think sounds nice given the genre and decode the magick hidden between them. I suggest you try to decode the whole list for practise. What is the song actually saying rather than what is on the surface? What is going on there? What is hidden? Is there a spirit referenced in the song? Is the song implying something most non-magicians would not understand? If you were to imagine it being apart of magick, or being about magick how would he meaning change. Reading between the lines is something often hidden within our society. It’s hard to notice the secrets of magick that of which are woven into our everyday. I’ve seen several businesses that had magick esc logos from toyota copying Belzebub’s sigil to statefarm’s hands. I’ve seen films that while themselves a fantasy are drenched in real world ideas of the occult. Noticing this magick surrounding you is something you will need as a magician but it’s also something that will aid you. Noticing the magick of your world is simply the first step in becoming a true magician. Meditation in magick One thing you’ll see over and over again in the magickal community is meditation. This is because it is a concept heavily tied to you and your magick. True spirit work cannot be done without it. True evocation should not be done without it. Knowing yourself is a common thing and rule in occultism but getting your mind in a place to know yourself is another trial all together. Having a clear mind is important. Knowing how to reach a meditative state is important. It’s important because not only does it allow you to connect with your energies and your spiritual body but being within a meditative state can also allow you to see and hear spirits. Here is a method: The Third Eye Trick Relax and sit up. Do your best not to lay down. You're not going to sleep, you're meditating. If you have such a bad posture where you need to slouch do so but the more accustomed you become to this meditation the more I urge you do it sitting up. Relax. Place your fingers to the bridge of your nose holding your ring finger to the area just between your brows where your third eye would be. Take several deep breaths. Imagine breathing in white smoke and breathing out black or grey smoke. Focus only on that eye area. If your arm gets tired put it down but focus on that area. When your mind starts to drift pull your focus back to those fingers. Do this for around 20-30 every day. You’ll find through this exercise that your breath begins to slow and your mind becomes calm. Congratulations you have learned how to mediate. The first several times you do this you’ll find it doesn’t last long. Such as between 5-7 minutes or 7-13 minutes. It’s a good idea to have a clock on you and to time these sessions. But meditation takes practice so keep trying to do it multiple times a day. It will improve your regular life and aid you on your spiritual trials. The breather Another trick to get into a meditative state is to start sitting up against a wall or in a chair. It’s important that you aren’t laying down for this one. Start by focusing on your breath. Begin slowly breathing in and out. Just focusing on your breath and slowing and slowing it down. Keep focusing till your breath is shallow then focussing on the nothingness. Keep calm and try your best to get rid of any resting or rustling thoughts that are consuming your mind. Wards the Basics How to’s of Protection So what is a ward? When working with any kind of spirit in the astral there are a lot of risks. Apart of there being a lot of risks means you should probably be covering your ass. Their’s a lot of things in doing this work in general that are going to get attached to you and the best way to stop that from happening is to ward your space. Their’s a couple different techniques for wordings that I’m going to teach you as well as cord cutting ceremonies and name dropping a few entities who can help with this sort of thing. Red space ward: Start by focusing on your breath. Calm down completely and fully. Then take your hand and imagine light being stored within it. Imagine this light turning into a firey red energy and push it towards your door imagining yourself protected from any spirits or evil that is trying to come through. Push this energy by outreaching your hand into the frame of the door or a wall within the room and this should prevent unwanted energies from entering. Shielding Shielding is essentially building an energy field around yourself for protection. These energy fields can be used for far more than just protection as seen in the book M.T.H.O.S the Handbook of Shadow by William R. Wraithe which I highly recommend for more information on the topic. But right now we’re focusing on these energy fields for protection. The purpose of a shield it to create energy around you that protects you from malicious entities. Basically anything that might be trying to attack or hurt you out of nowhere or anything yuky that might want to embed itself in your spiritual skin. These can be scary and intimidating for somebody new but are absolutely an essential part of your spiritual development as a whole. The basic operations of a programed sheild is to protect you from anything causing you harm or any outside influence. Sheilds work by performing a layer over the individual. This protects the person from any intrusive forces who may try to infect the mind or body or cause issues so to speak. Creating a sheild is simple. Bubble shield method This method of shielding is pretty weak. It will protect you from general astral garbage and the like but is useless for magickal combat or under the distress of attack. It can be shattered or popped by a magician human with malice pretty easily. It is still useful for keeping certain nuisances away though. It keeps out small parasitic entities. Imagine a bubble of energy building around you from the ground up surrounding you full of energy until it meets your head. Imagine consuming your body. It should extend beyond your body as well. Imagine it with a golden or white color. What is a Demon? Let me be honest. Demons do not want your soul. It is useless and offers no value to them or any other spirit. If any spirit comes to you asking for “your soul” chances are it’s a melevent entity trying to fuck with you and will offer you nothing shall you actually agree. Do not trust every entity that comes across your path. You will attract them just by doing magick. It’s apart of it. Especially with what I’m teaching you. But back to demons. You can make bargains with demons which is what we will be discussing upon “selling your soul” or rather making pacts but first, and do read the whole thing, I need to teach you what a demon is. Demons are not old gods. That’s a misconception. Some of them were Apolyon, Bael, Lilith and Orias specifically. But just because a few names in that book can be traced through shaky etymology to deities doesn’t mean all of these guys are. The demon Marbas straight up told me he was never demonized and always a demon from the start. That some of these being said guys can be traced to something or someone from ages ago in multiple cultures should you know who you’re working with, what you’re doing and how to separate fact from fiction, aspect from aspect, influence from reality, etcetera which is important here. Such as Furfur beinga goddess or whatever. However for the most partly, some of these guys were always just demons, some used to be more, some were literal angels, they aren’t all old forgotten gods or the sort. Truly a best way to know an entity is to work with them yourself. Now it’s very important that for the left handed path that you do not approach demons with a Christian mindset. In order to do these operations properly you must forget everything you know about Christianity and organized religion in general. This is tricky because the main sources pivot these guys in a christian framework. Also, because I am going to point you in the direction of some Christian doctrine based work later on but for the purposes of characterizing demons you need to steer clear of that mentality. Demons aren’t evil. They should be directed but still treated with dignity. They are complex entities that will help you in your goals and benefit you over all per your agreements with them. Just because the “Christian God” does not take a kind approach to them doesn’t change this at all. Nor does it mean you have to take an awful approach to them mimicking christianity. You need to have good relationships with them but you should note that if you are not extremely careful {if you treat them as equals or superiors} they will do their best to take advantage of you. You need proper protection. You need those pentacles (which can actually be made out of wood rather than silver or bronze) and talismans and the like. So how do I approach them teacher Acrians? With respect. Your intention going into the ritual matters to a degree and your approach as well. I’m not going to lie to you they do play off your perceptions of them and if your perception is “big scary demon is going to attack me and wants my soul!!” then that will be factored in to how they appear to you and may even be exactly what you get. I do not believe that demons are a projection of your mind. They aren’t. They exist outside of you. Many magicians such as myself have encountered demons and entities that shared traits we never knew about but later discovered upon further research due to other’s experiences. For example Demon A tells you one thing and you have no recollection of what he told you beforehand, only for you to research and discover that Demon A has told several other magicians the same thing you did not previously know. That just couldn't happen if these were projections of your mind or psyche. Hearing Demon B have a gravelly voice and not anticipating that then having it confirmed by other magicians that Demon B has a gravelly voice is not something that could’ve happened less Demon B existed beyond you and your mind. If demons were a projection of your mind, if it were the case alone, they would be limited to your mind and psyche. Magick is in your perception. They communicate with you this way. Tuplas are real but demons aren’t Tuplas. So how do I show respect? For starters read up on the demon thoroughly. I suggest spending a total of 2 weeks reading up everything you can about this demon. Less time will be required later on after you get the hang of it. Search the internet. Read ancient texts. Look for grimoires mentioning his or her name. Write up a short biography of them. Once you have a good grasp on who this demon is and what they do, then summon them in a formal evocation. Unless what you have read has started not to do so or the demon has expressed otherwise, then usually I would preface the evocation with incense and an offering though some magicians consider the incense itself to be an offering. It’s important to note some demons will deceive you should you provide them an offering so keep this in mind. Your research should prevent you from making any mistakes regarding this. Then approach the demon with several questions. Always have questions ready, and as long as the demon is okay with it, you should be sure to write the answers he gives you down. Every time. Each demon has a different approach to these things. Sometimes demons do not want you to reveal the information they have given you. Other Times they will ask if you do reveal it that you reveal it in a certain manner or discreetly such as in this book. The demons I work with prefer me to keep my practices as an occultist a secret. I am a pretty well known American person outside of my magickal writings in some places, so it’s important to them that I keep quiet about what I do and who I am as they have instructed. However as a beginner this shouldn't really be a big issue for you. You probably won’t run into this sort of thing until you are far more serious and have considered ascension. By the time they start testing and making plans for you which wille eventually happen, that’s when this may arise. Demons want what’s best for you. At least in a few regards. They want to improve you and your practice and your life. Humanity as well. They may make these improvements for something in return or in a way that ultimately benefits them but they will make these improvements. The left handed path is a path of change. It also to be noted that change does not ever come from a happy place or a place of comfort. You will still be you when you are done but you won’t be the same version of who you were. You will be different. Some of your friends may not even recognize you anymore. That’s just how this path tends to go. You are going to change. For the better. But nevertheless you will. Demons have this sort of ability to see everything wrong and how it’s going so. They can see what needs improvement they can see your desires. They tend to know you better than you know yourself. In some cases they will teach you to know yourself. I must re-iterate that these aren’t evil entities. Does pure evil even exist? Yes absolutely even in the form of spirits but demons are not this. They are kings and dukes and princes with complex goals and ambitions. They aren’t evil tricksters as some mis-informed will lead you to believe and truly someone who ascribes to that idea is either inexperienced with demons or lacks any experience with demons at all. It is no more dangerous to work with demons than any other spirit. All magick is dangerous and with risk and anyone who tells you otherwise is full of shit or initially misguiding you. Demons have a sort of allure. I’m not going to persuade you not to work with them. As long as you can put Christian ideas and thoughts out of your brain if they are your first choice embrace that. I would never recommend worshiping them though. Only a fool would do that in my eyes. There is no point in worshipping an entity you can bargain with. This is because you can make agreements with them. There's four books I’m going to suggest you read and purchase before you go about doing any sort of magickal endeavour regarding demons. The first is “Conjure Codex” it is an English book on spirits and magick that has a lot of different contributions from a lot of different occultists. There's an entire section in there about demons and how to evoke them that I suggest you follow to the T. I expect you to pick up that book but with that being said I will also include my own evocation guide as well as a banishing ritual for you to do. It’s important that you also have shields up and ward your space before summoning any sort of spirit. I will also include several bios on several demons for you to look up. While you can get any spirits attention with just a chalk circle alone proper evocation can take up to days of preparation and when done right and properly you and everyone around you will physically see and hear the entity in front of you. Beyond simply “imagining” it. That is proper evocation and given the proper tools even you a complete and total novice can get it right. Though it might take time to achieve that state. You should also probably have your third eye open before going about any work with them. The next two books you don’t have to purchase. You can find free PDF’S on the internet. Given the internet is still around by the time you read this. Now I warn you to read these books with caution. They do a lot of things wrong and if you follow them as they instruct you in every manner while effective you will have a very negative experience regarding demons. You must not try to control or command the demons. No blasting rods or blades most of the time. Know you are the most powerful being in the ritual. Know you are the authority when you summon them. Protect yourself sure, but don’t go threatening powerful entities or using a conjuration or a hexagram. It’s not a wise move. Even if done right the results will mimic that of someone under distress. This is why I suggest purchasing the Conjure Codex first and reading it first. It will help to erase other connotations and prevent you from getting in over your head. Now with that being said I suggest you pick up the Lesser Keys of Solomon (or Goetia per proper mis-translation) and the Grimoire Verbatim. The Lesser Keys of Solomon is mostly a demon dictionary. But don’t just summon anyone as I have stated. I am giving you the instructions the way I am to prevent you from making foolish mistakes. Once you welcome these entities into your life they never leave. They work with you and become almost like friends. Demons are first and foremost teachers. If you keep leaving magick and find yourself coming back again and again that means you’re meant for it. However know that after a certain point you cannot leave the left handed path. No matter how much you want to. No matter how much you try. Once you’ve crossed a point which is different depending on who you are, you can never go back. This is the path of ascension. Once you are on way to becoming more than human you cannot become lesser again. The last book I am going to recommend to you is an English book in compendium with the lesser key of Solomon. it is titled The Ars Goetia: A Black Magician's Companion Guide to the Lesser Key of Solomon by Orlee Stewart. It's an effective book. Now how do you make an agreement with a demon? How do you “sell your soul”? As stated at the start of this book you cannot sell your soul and nobody is interested. However there is a real life equivalent to this. It is called making a pact. A pact as all agreements with demons (nobody works for free) is a sort of “I do this for you” and “you do this for me” sort of barter deal. An “I promise to do so and so for you” and “in return you give me x”. Generally I would not approach a demon with this in mind. A pact is something you should only really consider after working with demons for a very long time. Or with a specific demon you know very well. It’s not something you should jump into with no experience. Most will do what you ask and form an agreement with you with no pact needed. Most you can just call up with a task in mind and they will ask for something in return but it won’t need to be written formally. A lot can be done without a contract. Usually demons keep their word. If a demon promises you something and you’ve paid them properly (we’ll get to that) there's no reason that they should go back on what they told you they’d do. They keep their word. They don’t try to “twist” your desire. Though be aware to always phrase it properly because of room for exploitation. You won’t play well with every spirit you meet. Demon or otherwise. They can and will take advantage of you if you’re not careful. Take note of that. Generally if you ask to be famous as a musician and you ask the demon to do this for you, overtime as you release music you’ll become a famous musician. Not do to some mega controversy with music on the side. Unless of course you were fame hungry as I was and that was the lesson they wished to teach you. You may learn that fame isn’t all it’s cracked up to be and honestly rather draining but that’s the lesson you learned with what you asked for. They are teachers. They teach you by experience. Normally they will give what you asked for but teach you a lesson along with it. “Be careful what you wish for” sums up demons rather well and has been the best advice they have given me. But it’s less Monkey’s paw and more “I met my hero like I wanted but he was a fuking dickbag and now I get why people say to never meet your idols” It will be a lesson you need to learn that will benefit you later on. This normally doesn’t bite you in the ass unless you are trying to force them in the process. The lesson might be unpleasant in some regards but you’ll be better for it. You treat them with respect, pay them and you won’t have issues. They may go about things in ways you don’t desire, they may take things away from you that you really wanted at the time and you may even fight or but heads eventually but in the end they’re not trying to exploit you. They are trying to teach you. A pact is entering in many ways a formal long relationship with someone. Think of it like a marriage. It’s welcoming them into your life without much reason or room for them to leave it. It’s establishing something long term between you two. If you just need something informal done and then you want to be on your way, if it’s nothing special or ground breaking, and you can’t see your self working with this spirit 10 years from now? If it’s nothing that is incredibly important to you then don’t do a pact. Just give them the job as a task. Even if it’s a long term one. Pacts are special they should be treated as special. You are entering a marriage. You are entering a long term arrangement that will be very hard to leave. Would you marry someone you just met? What if they were a celebrity you read up on? One of your favorite authors? You still don’t know them are you willing to spend the rest of your life with this person? Do you want to collab or do you want to marry? If you like for their work or their knowledge are you willing to arrange something eternal esc for it? Have you considered you might dam yourself? These are all things to consider when negotiating a pact. The pact will be just as much on your terms as it is theirs. You are going to write it together, seal it together and you in many ways could be bound to it. Don’t jump into something like that. I’m sure you will but my advice from my own mistakes? Just don’t. Be very careful what you wish for. Now what do demons ask for in return? This can very depending on who you are. Some might ask for devotion. Which is essentially near worship like tendencies where you make art, songs, poetry, offerings in general for the demon in question. They may ask for a grandiose concept from you. This can be attuned to “loyalty, free will, control, even your fame in some cases”. Sometimes they may ask to change something about you. I had one demon ask to change my “temperment” given what I was asking of him. They may also give you a task like going in the real world to do something. I had Belzebub ask me to gather sweet berries from the forest and burn them for him when I gave him a task. Sometimes they might ask for you to give them a physical object. Eligos once asked me for a sword in exchange for him arranging me to meet someone important. They ask for many things but what they ask for will really be dependent on who you are and what you can do for them. I’ve written several songs for entities as a form of payment and even an ep for one. Whatever you can give them will determine what they ask for from you. That being said I am warning you to be cautious of promising them grandiose concepts such as control or loyalty. They may test out your devotion to the concept later as well as take full advantage of you promising it to them. I wouldn't argue that demons are selfish entities. But when you bargain with someone regardless of whom they are, demon or otherwise you must be very careful not to get screwed. With that in mind most demons will change you per your agreements with them. Magick itself is that of change and demons will ignite this within you. For a full list of demons and their attributes I highly suggest the work “The Lesser Keys of Solomon” however, here are some short bios from some demons that I personally work with that I can attest too. Eligos Eligos is a handsome spirit. He often takes the form of an attractive knight. He is great for divination purposes. He can tell you of the world secrets or hidden things. He is skilled in prophecy. He is great for gaining favor in times of war. Or gaining political expertise. He is good for strategy related to war. Love and lust. Business endeavors. Winning respect of soldiers. He is actually in charge of how soldiers will meet and can tell you about it. He can also help you out in court cases or with legal issues. He can reveal hidden aspects about yourself. He is an approachable and nice spirit. Fairly friendly and great to work with. He enjoys tobaco, likerish, sandalwood insense, frenchfries, cooked meals, and sweet things as offerings. "Eligos/Arbor." Deliriums Realm, www.deliriumsrealm.com/abigor/ "Eligos Eligor Arbigor." Let’s get that out of the way. In many systems of magick numbers themselves are inherently powerful. Numerology even for those who hate numbers such as myself is an inherently useful tool for the average magician that you should really have under your belt. Even if you choose not to study it you should have a decent understanding of it. Specific numbers in certain systems not only have significance but carry magick. For example the number 16 was often used in a lot of old icelandic magick and in icelandic spells. The number 7 is thought to symbolize divinity in a lot of Christian work. Several hoodoo spells have you doing a routine or reading a psalm a certain number of times. In ancient times while unrelated to numerology letters in words were often added up to signify a meaning. It was actually fairly common practice in ancient Greece to do this. In numerology each number signifies something. What each number signifies heavily depends on the system of numerology you find yourself using. There's one system I will cover for you. Ancient greek numerology is fascinating but we won’t be tackling it here instead we’ll be tackling what I call Kaballic numerology. Let’s start off with the Kabbalah. The Kabbalah is Jewish mysticism in a nutshell. There are some people out there who think Christians and Jews while believing in one god cannot practice magick. These people are full of shit. Jewish mysticism and even catholic folk magick go very far back. Christianity and Jewish mystics and magicians go back as far as the spread of those religions. I mean check out the very western books of Solomon and Abremilin the mage. One holy concept in Jewish mythology is the Kabbalah. The Kabbalah to put it simply is the tree of life. A tree of life exists in plenty of pantheons and religions such as the tree of life in norse mythology. The tree of life in judaism however is a representative of god and divinity. The numerology that spreads from this can be used accordingly. Each system of numerology has different codings for the numbers and what coming across them or adding them together can represent, Each letter in Kabalic Numerology is assigned a value. This sort of numerology can be added to find out about yourself. The numbers within this set of numerology can be used as omens and signs around you. They can be used for divination. In Kaballic numerology while not something we’ll touch on to much here there is something known as a “life path” where the number you are assigned at birth relays a destiny for you. 1: Beginning, Progress, Leadership 2: Harmony, Cooperation, Connection 3: Creativity, Expression, Optimism 4: Practicality, Stagnation, Limitations 5: Creation, Fertility, Freedom & Change 6: Fulfillment, Family & Friendship, Caring 7: Spirit, Enlightenment, Magic & Mystery 8: Abundance, Success, Luck & Charisma 9: Completion, Humanitarianism, Service & Selflessness Numbers association via subconsciousservant.com/ Overall this system of numerology is one I suggest exploring for future endeavours within the occult. Short and Sweet Spell to evoke an event Take a piece of paper. Write down “*happens” with your intent and magickal intention. Leave it alone for some time and ignore it. Then the event you wished for should come soon. You should be forgetting about it during the time period you wish for it to happen. You should also with all magick allow ways for it to manifest. For example if you are an author and you write “*I get published” you should probably already have some means to get your manuscript in the hands of others. This is a simple spell to evoke a possibility and it’s occurrence. Pickle Curse What you’ll need A pickle Jar [past it’s expiration date preferably two weeks] Vinegar Dollie or other object representing the person Chillie Pepper Mustard Garlic Additionally: their dna or something belonging to them attached to the dollie Take the pickle jar. Empty out the pickles but keep the juice. Grab an item or a dollie representing the victim. Their dna works brilliantly if you have it here as well but you generally want something that represents a human person. Such as a doll, a spoon with a picture of their face taped to it ext. It needs to represent them. First place the dollie [or your dollie substitute] within the pickle jar. Then add vinegar, garlic, mustard spewing curses at the person, visualizing their downfall graphically and commanding it to occur. [If you suffer from intrusive thoughts make sure you got a handle on that before performing this spell maybe with medicine or grounding] Then add the chili pepper imagining them burning. Begin to shake the pickle jar and comand the harm you wish to occur. Then take a spoon and begin banging it on the jar as you yell cureses. Repeatedly envision murdering the person. Then properly dispose of your ritual materials far away from you. I want to warn you most of my curses while easy to perform are rather bold in their process. They severely harm whoever you use them and in some cases the curses even those in this book will result in death. You chose to do this curse so that is your responsibility. Why does it work? The jar is a concealed vessel for the magick to be performed and the action to occur. The pickle juice itself is sour and rotting via it’s expiration. The vinegar stings and tastes bitter. The dollie is the person you are attacking it is them and their fiber of their being being thrust into this bitterness. Thus putting them in this vessel, constraining them among the sour and the tart, inflicting the burning sensation and force of chilli pepper will do the trick. Often times people end up researching for hours on end what each spice does and each oils property in magick. That’s great. Especially at the start when you are unsure of why it would even work. However your intuition will always be a great guide. What feelings do you associate with a lemon? Think about it. Their sour right? They can add their own presence into whatever recipe they're put in. If their so strong and so bitter they can be used for protection or cursing. What do you think about chili powder? It tastes tart alone and burns. Then it can be used for energy and it can be used for to inflict that pain, that burn. When in doubt research it but if your gut is telling you something about a spice think about it’s properties and think outside the box of how those properties can be applied. Spell to obtain an object your desire What you’ll need: Needle with virgin (unused) red thread tied at the end Photo of the object you want Rock Salt An altar to perform Print out of a photo of the object you want. Then place a salt circle around it. From the corners of the circle draw an “X” over the photo. Then begin folding the photo until it’s folded four times into a square. Say “come to me” with your intention at full force and stab it with the needle. Then dispose of materials properly. Thing should arrive given you’ve arranged proper channels for it to [expressed interest in the thing, amazon wishlist, told family or friends ext, an avenue for it to come to you basically] but make sure you don’t become obsessed with getting the object else it won’t actually arrive. Wanting magick to work can sometimes fuck it up. It alters the vibrations and your intentions and can in some cases defeat the entire purpose of a ritual at all. Why does it work? The circle of salt works as a sort of connective barrier and energy field for the spell. The folding is the conductor of the magick at hand. The X is what gives the spell its direction to manifest. ‘ These can be scary and intimidating for somebody new but are absolutely an essential part of your spiritual development as a whole. White Lightning Imagine a white light flowing through you. The soler energy of the sun and the moon. Let it come all around you until you are a ball of lightning or feel like one, then attack with a bolt at the presence of wherever you feel the evil. A protective spirit one may call upon is Archangel Michael. Here is a brief bio on him. Archangel Michael: It’s important to note that while demons aren’t inherently of a Chirstian mindset and acknowledging that sort of mindframe can mess you up with them, angels in general are inherently a Christian thing. It is very hard to work with angels in my experience outside of Christinaity. You have to approach them with that frame of reference. Before you ask no demons and angels don’t hate each other in fact angels have more of an issue being in the same space with other angels then with demons. Archangel Michael is great for protection and things of that sort and he has in my experience a very welcoming energy so he’s perfect to call on for these sorts of explorations and operations. The basics of Parasites and warnings Whenever you do magick, be it evocation or general spells you're bound to attract entities towards you. Majority of the time at least some portion of these entities are going to be malicious. Let’s go over the vast quantities of parasites. Parasites are generally spirits who will corrupt, upset, and take advantage of you through their intentions and usually not give you anything in return. They will appear via a lack of cleansing or protection though cleansing isn’t directly needed. Parasites will pretend to be gods they are not, take your energy, give you venom, corrupt your mind making you go insane, and other ways. So how to spot a parasite? If you sense you are unnaturally unhappy, depressed, and sleep deprived it’s a parasite. If you see something uninvited out of the corner of your eyes. If a spirit randomly appears to you and offers you it’s venom with little to no work on your counterpart. If you have depression symptoms without depression. If you feel something constantly biting you or under your skin. If you’re hearing voices or getting delusional when you have no mental issues. How to deal with them? Take some sage of any colour, and yell at it to get out of your house. You can’t smudge if you don’t have the training or aren’t form that culture, but you can banish and sage is pretty good for it. Keep in mind white sage specifically is endangered. You can also banish with cinnamon or alcohol. You can also perform the lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram. General Banishing techniques such as chord cutting, space celansings, or water cleansing will work here. I will admit upfront this isn’t my area of expertise otherwise I’d be teaching them to you here. Ritual for luck I was debating putting this ritual in this book. This is copied and pasted basically from the grimoire verbatim with some additional cometary and further elaboration. Most harcore occultists have heard of the grimoure verbatim and if you want to be an occultist I highly recommend that you read it yourself. This ritual involves animal killing in a sense and is a little more on the advanced side but I’ve showed you so much already I thought I might as well include it. For this ritual you will need several things: an earthenware pot (clay, a clay pot), a GREEN frog to kill, orejel, some sort of vessel to carry the dirt, (I suggest a cork bottle necklace as pictured), and an ellwood tree [Only found in England] and graveyard dirt from a family members grave. It’s important to note that if you do not live in an area where an ellwood tree is available that you find a corespondent within the plants of the area you live. When it comes to graveyard dirt it has many different uses within the occult. One such use is having the dead who’s dirt is attached to the grave, enchant the item or mixture causing change to occur. This is why in some grimoires you’ll see people saying to take from a gamblers grave for luck or a business man’s grave for deals of that variety. It’s also why most grimoires recommend you take from a family member’s grave or otherwise of the grave of someone you know. Before retrieving any sort of graveyard dirt, make an offering to an underworld god at the entrance to the cemetery, and then make an offering to the grave of person who’s dirt you’re taking. Make sure you state your intent as you enter the cemetery. Theres many ways to work with cemetery spirits. Not limited to including working with the spirits of the general graveyard itself, but we won’t be tackling that here. This isn’t a necromancy grimoire. The way you kill the frog, which must be green by the way, is by taking Orjel and placing the frog within a cup of it. It’s body will absorb it and it will die. It kills the frog fast and quickly. You could also freeze it but that I consider a slow death and inhumane. Not to mention time consuming. I hold to the belief that if you’re going to kill an animal you really should be using all of it if you can. When it comes to animal sacrifice in other cultures and religions such as Santiria I think depending on the ritual, exceptions to this rule can be made given those systems but if you’re just doing hands on rituals such as this one, respect should be given to the dead even that of an animal. In this case the frog. To be clear here you are not sacrificing this animal to any deity or gods but rather sacrificing its body in order to give you luck. Then on a full moon on a friday (you’ll need a calendar for this one) cut off it’s head and it’s feet. Put them in an elder tree, for 21 days and remove them on the 21st exactly at midnight. Then take part of it’s corpse and expose it to moonlight for three days. Afterwards take your clay pot and dry the frog parts. Once the body is fully dried grind the body parts into a powder. [TUTORIAL ON HOW TO DO THAT WITH MEAT HERE]. Then place the graveyard dirt equal to the frog in the cork bottle necklace and you will have luck in any challenge when wearing it. Mojo Hand to Obtain Wealth What is a mojo hand? In Vodou and Hoodoo “mojo hands” or “gris gris” as they are alternatively called, are a type of amulet that when worn can cause blank or so and so to happen. Keep in mind both Vodou is a closed practice that requires initiation. The one I’ll be showing you how to make will cause you to have good luck and wealth. It’s important to note with this particular hand it may cause you to loose money at first or you may loose some financial gain here and there but overall through time it will cause you to gain money and luck. Every week you need to “feed” or empower the hand by giving it wine/alcohol. Start by taking a red cloth bag or red cloth and placing in it, Sage, cinemen, Rosemary, garlic, coins, a four leaf clover, and a dice. Additionally I recommend adding “Solomonic oil” Then wrap up the bag. Then pour on it alcohol I used wine. Then keep this hand on you without telling anyone you’re wearing it, for as long as you need. Results should manifest over a few weeks. I found that when I wore this hand I found a lot of loose change, my mother got a raise, my brother and sister got jobs and I had great luck at a car dealership, my online store did better, and people often bought me things or volunteered to. It wasn’t constant upheavals of money but rather financial gain overtime as most money making magick tends to work. It’s important to note that with Mojo hands as with all money making magick you need to have avenues for the money to come to you. People who can give it to you or a job with opportunities therein. A Banishing Jar to Get Rid Of Someone from Your Property to get rid of someone you don’t like from your premises. What you’ll need A glass jar garlic cloves or powder Mustard chili powder lemon juice black pepper sea salt Start by taking a photo or drawing of the person you want to get rid of and placing it in a glass jar. Then add each ingredient while imaging something causing the person to leave your life. Then take the jar and throw the jar away in your backyard while screaming to get out and leave you alone. Or additionally if you do not have a backyard hide it in your home or the area you wish for them to leave. I used my backyard so that the jar would still be present in the premises causing its effects to linger. I found that after doing this spell, this person left my life. I found that they kept coming back as they were a constant before hand but that then the jar would be on my mind and they would leave again. This jar should keep the person or persons away for a good chunk of time. It will cause them to move out relatively quickly if they haven't already. Why does it work? A glass jar works sort of like a containment for the spell. It works to gather the energizes and allows them to build up within itself magnifying the spell. It works here kind of like a conductor for the magick. Chili powder is often used in vodou and hoodoo. It is used to add fire or a kick to spells more often than not. It's great for banishings. It's often used specifically to get rid of unwanted visitors. Black pepper is used to ward off things and banish. It has the property to it. Garlic can be used to get rid of people and banish. Mustard can be used to ward. Mustard seeds are good for any banishing spell. Lemons are often used for protection. Salt can be used in banishings as well as for purification. When all of these things are combined together in the jar their energies work sort of like ingredients in an equation or a recipe. Their properties come into play combined with your intention to ignite that part of them. Think of magick like cooking. Each spice adds it's own property with what was combined before it causing the change. The jar acts as the hub or orchestrator of the magick. Giving it placement in the world and the power of enchantment. How to Astral Project Astral projection is one of the best tools for magick. It is easily, easily one of the most beginner elementary concepts that every magician should have under his or her belt. What is astral projection? Astral projection is to be frank, an out of body experience. Normally where you go on adventures within the astral realm. It’s important to have shields up and ward your space before going about any astral projecting. The astral realm is essentially the spirit world. It’s a place within your eternity that your spirit can travel too. Astral projection can be a great tool for not only meeting spirits and going on adventures but also for gaining general knowledge in magick via your experiences with it. So how do you do it? Explore Your House Method Get into a meditative state. Then focus on your spirit and your form. Then imagine it outside of your body, and push it out. Then control your body from a sort of third person perspective almost The big method Get calm and in a meditative state. Imagine yourself getting bigger. Just growing larger and larger. Imagine yourself growing so large that you could pluck the earth out of orbit. Then imagine a place you’ve read about spiritually, whether that be mount olympus or valhalla and project an image of yourself there. How to create a spell Let’s get one thing out of the way. You should really have experience trying out other people’s spells before creating your own. A spell is essentially creating change through magick. Such as saying a chant over a dollie or drawing lines on a petition paper and or folding a card to give it power and umph. Once you have done all of these things you now have a recipe for a spell. Your spells may not work at first. Magick in its essence is trial and error. It’s like cooking and creating recipes. If you just add ketchup to a casadia it may not taste right. But if you add it to potatoes or a hotdog it will. You need to have experience trying out other peoples formulas when baking before you can just go improvising a cake, and as with cooking the first couple cakes you make are not gonna be the best. Once again don’t beat yourself up about it magick is a skillset that takes time to develop. Not everything can be magick. So when you’re discovering what can be it is going to be a learning process. How to Sell Your Soul You can’t. I mean soul contracts do exist but they are so exceptionally rare that you are not going to be the exception. If you want something and you’re willing to give you’re soul to get it allow me to point you in another direction that could also be considered selling your soul, but is much more valuable, you get you’re money’s worth, and can be used as short hand for “selling your soul”. It’s called a pact. Solomonic magick has it’s fair share of flaws. The elaborate matts, triangles, and seals that you wear in it, while powerful cause harm to the spirits and aren’t worth their weight in salt. I don’t disregard the entire system, but I believe enslaving a spirit to do your bidding vs requesting a deal with said spirit are different. It will work if you follow those instructions. However! The results will mimic that of someone under distress. You don’t want a chef to be forced to serve you sushi with a knife against his neck, that will only end poorly for both you and the chef! No it makes much more sense to just…pay for your sushi? Also then you don’t have to worry about spirits bent on revenge. So how do you do it? Eventually in magick you will come across something known as a pathworking. Pathworkings are elaborate rituals that are meant to change you the practitioner from the inside out. The sort of magick in abramelin the mage, and the solominc keys is pathworking adjacent though it is debated if they are. You don’t need a pathworking to make a pact. You just need to know the demon like the back of your hand. Start by researching the goetic keys of solomon. Learn about the different demons and learn who does what, and how they appear, if you should call them by a title and so on and so forth. Looking at you King Paimon! Then get thick black ink. Meditate, you need to be near sleep in order to hear them. From that point on summon or evoke. Evocation is somewhat disrespectful it is powerful and better for beginners but enslaves the spirit to you in a sense. Summonings puts you on more respectful equal footing but I wouldn't try it if you’re a beginner. Then light some incense possibly an offering and some candles and bam you got a demon. At first you may find you’re “Answering your own, questions” this means the spirit is talking to you internally. Sometimes you’ll get a vibe. It takes practice to work this out and you soundn’t be making a pact without practice. It could take years, experience you NEED to do this properly. Then take some white thick paper, or parchment (preferred) and write your request to the demon. What you wish to have in exchange for what you are giving up (it will not be your soul) pacts are a sort of “I do this for you” “you do this for me” but it is important to note, that you don’t absolutely have to have a pact to do most of these sorts of deals. Verbal agreements work just fine!
