Public Works Department 415 Diamond Street tel: 310 318-0661 Engineering Services Division Redondo Beach, California 90277 fax: 310 374-4828 www.redondo.org February 7, 2020 Resident Redondo Beach, CA SUBJECT: BERYL STREET CORRIDOR TRAFFIC CALMING EVALUATION The City of Redondo Beach has reviewed conditions along the Beryl Street corridor between Prospect Avenue and Catalina Avenue to determine traffic calming and traffic safety alternatives. Staff will present the findings and recommendations at an upcoming Public Works Commission meeting. The various alternatives to be discussed include traffic circles, bike lanes, bulb-outs, radar feedback signs and a pedestrian hybrid beacon (see attached conceptual layout). Staff will present the recommendations at a meeting of the Public Works Commission on Monday, February 24, 2020. The meeting will be held in the City Council Chamber, 415 Diamond Street at 7:00 p.m. Parking is available in the parking structure under the library or on adjacent streets. The Public Works Commission will review Staff’s presentation, receive public input and discuss what actions to pursue. Your input would be appreciated.
