Failure to make payment by this time will mean that you cannot fish the academy day. • You need to bring adequate fishing tackle and baits like maggot and corn. This includes but is not limited to; a seatbox/chair, a rod, a pole/whip, hooks, floats, feeders, line, AMENITIES AT keepnets, landing net, etc. Pellet baits must be purchased at Shearsby Valley Lakes. MIDDY SHEARSBY • On the day, you will receive a £25.00 voucher which can be spent on anything at the on-site tackle shop and/or café. VALLEY LAKES SITE • The voucher cannot be exchanged for money and will be valid only for 1 day. • On the day, you will also receive a free entry into the mid-day raffle to win Middy prizes. • On the day, the angler must wear a Middy t-shirt and hat, which will be sent to you in advance. We will try our best to supply your clothing size stated in this form but we may On-site be forced to send one size higher if stock is unavailable at the time. Failure to wear the Middy t-shirt and hat will mean that you cannot fish the match. tackle shop • You agree to pictures and video footage of the junior being captured on the day and used in marketing material by Middy and Shearsby Valley Lakes which may be published online or in print. Failure to arrive by 8.45am will mean you cannot fish and you will unfortunately be turned away and receive no refund. On-site café • Coaching will be from 9am until 12pm, followed by an hour break for the raffle and for lunch (which can be purchased at the on-site café using your voucher), followed by a 3 Free parking* hour match between 1pm and 4pm. The weigh-in and presentation will take place between 4pm and 5pm. This may all run over so please be aware that you may not realistically be able to leave until around 6pm. • Face masks should be worn in accordance with government rules at the time, including when people are congregated closely together such as during the draw, the raffle and the presentation. We also recommend bringing your own hand sanitizer. All government rules at the time must be followed. • The winner of the match will receive a junior sponsorship with Middy which will include receipt of a sponsorship starter pack worth approximately £1500. This means that you should be prepared to accept the terms of a junior sponsorship, a copy of which can be supplied to you upon request. If the winner of the match is already sponsored by Middy Shearsby Valley Lakes then (s)he will receive £1500 RRP value of free tackle of their choosing. Do not apply if you are not willing to accept the terms of a Middy junior sponsorship. • Shearsby Valley Lakes has public liability insurance but of course you should not act in any way which is likely to result in injury of any kind. Middy Tackle International Ltd accepts no responsibility for any injury or illness should it occur. Parking is at your own risk and Shearsby Valley Lakes nor Middy Tackle International Ltd accept any responsibility for any theft or loss of any kind. Damages caused by the angler or parent/guardian would need to be paid to Shearsby Valley Lakes. Please act in a responsible manner to avoid these matters. * Limited parking spaces - • If accepted onto the academy day, your attendance will be expected. If for any reason you become unable to attend, please notify Shearsby Valley Lakes immediately and not guaranteed with at least 1 week notice so that a replacement junior angler can be chosen. • The event will go ahead subject to pandemic restrictions allowing it to do so. You would receive your £30.00 back if the event has to be cancelled. • Attendance of particular Middy sponsored anglers as named or shown in advertising material can not be absolutely guaranteed. Shearsby Valley Lakes MIDDY SHEARSBY VALLEY LAKES RULES GENERAL: • No dogs. • All personal litter to be removed from site by yourself. • All fish landed with a net should be unhooked on a hooking mat or supported in a keepnet. • Minimum 4 inch hooklength for feeder fishing • No surface fishing or floating baits • Barbless hooks only. • No hooks to be used that are bigger than size 10. • No fish to be taken from the fishery. • No braid to be used. • No barbeques or radios. • 2 rods maximum. BAIT: • Only our fishery pellets can be used as feed pellets (buy at on-site tackle shop). • Pellets bought from elsewhere may only be used as a hookbait. • Luncheon meat – maximum 2 tins (340g). • Boilies as hook bait only. • Cat meat as hook bait only. • Maggots, castors, worms, sweetcorn and hemp, please use sensibly. • Bread is only allowed between November and March. • Any other baits please ask staff before use. KEEPNETS: • Keepnets must be laid out at your peg upon arrival. • Nets must not enter the water until the coaching/match is in progress. • Maximum weight 60lb per keepnet. • Up to 65lb will count as 60lb, over 65lb will be disqualified. • Movement of fish between nets is not allowed at any time. • Fish that are evenly split across 3 nets can exceed 65lb limit. MATCH FISHING: • No floating pole. • When fishing a pole you must use a float at all times. • Minimum 6 inch line below float. • 13 metre pole limit on Hurricane and Tornado lakes when both banks are being used. (These two lakes will be used in the Middy Academy day.)
