TIME MANAGEMENT Quadrant I is for immediate and important deadlines. Quadrant II is for long-term strategizing and development. Quadrant III is for time-sensitive distractions. They are not important, but someone wants it now. Quadrant IV is for activities that yield little value. Often, these are activities you use when taking a break from time-sensitive and important activities. Many activities fall into Quadrant I and III. Quadrant II is often under used, however, Quadrant II is most important because writers must work both tactically and strategically at the same time. A common outcome of this grid is to find ways to expand Quadrant II activities.
