The other day I was reflecting on just how easy it is to get bored with the same old thing, although I heard the boss telling someone that although they might have heard a Bible story many many times, it was important to focus on it afresh each time. This stops us from thinking ‘I know this’ and our minds switching off. Each time we read even a familiar passage the Holy Spirit will show us something in it that might be completely fresh and we have never noticed before! Well it got me thinking. Hope and I love our walk across Mousehold heath and even though we go the same route most days it is still exciting. It’s exciting because it’s a chance to go for a run, and also because even though the route is the same we meet lots of different dogs with different owners. There are always lots of different smells and puddles and so many reasons to stop and sniff, to investigate or chase. So whether or not all the events in November might seem so familiar, what about looking at them with fresh eyes and look for what the Holy Spirit might say to you this year. Failing that, just join us for a walk and enjoy the smells!
