CQC UPDATE CQC visits have been paused routine inspections but have developed an emergency support framework that will be followed during the pandemic using and sharing information to target support where it’s needed most 1. having open and honest conversations 2. taking action to keep people safe and to protect people’s human rights 3. capturing and sharing what CQC do. The emergency approach will be used in all health and social care settings registered with CQC during the pandemic, and for a period afterwards. The emergency support framework is not an inspection, and will not be used to ratie performance. NATIONAL WORKFORCE REPORTING SYSTEM (NWRS) https://www.nwrs.nhs.uk/ Registered user and access information has been shared with CCG Workforce leads to help support practices and PCN’s to understand the importance of updating NWRS as and when staff are employed/transfer. A number of National funding programmes are based on the information recorded on NWRS (for example the allocation of the proposed CPD funding for nurses and AHP’s) Whilst GM have 97% of practices registered with NWRS, a large number of practices haven't updated the information for 2 years. It is acknowledged there is some confusion of the practice and PCN role and so work is underway to help explain and provide clarity. NMP Training Grant: The Greater Manchester Training Hub (GMTH) has been successful in securing money to help the PCN develop its workforce, specifically to increase the number of Non-Medical Prescribers within General Practice. Having acknowledge the difficulties around supervision of NMP, GMTH have worked with Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership (GMHSCP) to facilitate financial support each PCN to enable appropriate supervision in practice for trainee NMPs. This financial support will be available for practices with a successful applicants to the NMP course and will be in addition to the tuition fees. The Training Grant can help support the following: Costs associated with the employer providing learning support within their organization i.e. designated DMP provision and protected practice learning time. We recognise that the PCN across GM are at different levels of maturity the GMTH would like to work collaboratively with PCN clinical directors to agree application and selection criteria to ensure equity across GM. This will help to support maths, English and ICT skills development at a time when many employees may be struggling with all kinds of challenges, as you know we cannot have face to face learning / classroom sessions at this uncertain time, this software is developed for self-directed study and learning and can be undertaken from home via a laptop, PC, tablet or mobile phone. This funding is for most Trainee Nursing Associates and is consists of – a £4,000 one off payment plus – £1,600 per year for two years £15,800. This is happening in two stages. From Monday 6 July, those shielding can spend time outdoors in a group of up to six people (including those outside of their household). Extra care should be taken to minimise contact with others by maintaining social distancing. This can be in a public outdoor space, or in a private garden or uncovered yard or terrace. Shielding adults who live alone or with dependent children can form a ‘support bubble’ with one other household. All those in a support bubble can spend time together inside each other's homes, including overnight. From Saturday 1 August, advice to those shielding will be further relaxed. They will be able to go to work or to the shops, as long as they are able to maintain social distancing. Support will be extended to the end of July and the NHS will continue to provide targeted advice and support.
