Ancient2 – Beginner Guide I FOREWORD This is an Oldschool Server, do not expect being the best after 2 weeks of playing. Gameplay is the almost the same as Metin2 from the Year 2008 – 2011. Some Quality-of-Life Changes have been made. I made the Guide Character on a Weekend and played only on the Weekend; this means I profited of the Weekend Event. I farmed much easier and Leveled up much faster than usual. I used a Mount from the Itemshop just to speed up some Grinding, I did not have the time and patience for it to take 4 times as long. Presentation --- Link to the Presentation --- The Start You start with a Weapon +0 and an Apprentice Chest I Page 1 Ancient2 – Beginner Guide I Level 1 – 5 Finish the first 5 Hunting Quests. The Rewards are Equipment +0. Once you finished the first five Hunting Quests, you should have basic Equipment +0. Now it is time for you to get your Skills. I would recommend creating a Body Warrior. And Skilling your Character Points the following way: 20 more STR than VIT. Page 2 Ancient2 – Beginner Guide I Level 5 – 10 Once you are Level 5 and have the Basic Equipment +0, it is time to start the first few Biology Quests. The Rewards are Basic Equipment +3. You should be strong enough to kill the Level 5 Metins. You should kill these Metins until you get your Character to Level 10 and in between do the Biology Quests. The Metins from Level 5 to 40 drop the following Items: 10 % 10 % 5% 5% 10 % ~ 70 to 80 % Once you reach Level 10, you should have some items you can sell on the market to help you get some basic Equipment +5 or +6. Using the Z or Y key, you can open the Shop Interface and sell your Items there. The Ideal would be: Armor, Shield and Helmet +5 Level 5 Weapon +5 or +6 Page 3 Ancient2 – Beginner Guide I Occasionally you will drop one of these Items: Page 4 Ancient2 – Beginner Guide I Keep them for now, later you can use them at the Crafting NPC to craft some useful items. Alternatively, you can sell these Items in the Offline Shop. The Prices per piece: Potion of Creation Blue Seeds Green Seeds Fragment Blue Fragment Red 20k 10k 10k 5k 2k We have suggested to reduce the Crafting cost from 100k to 25k. We hope it will be changed so that it is more profitable, especially for you New Players. Once you sold your Items in the Shop and got some Yang, go and get yourself some Equipment, you can also try and go through all the shops and see if there is something you want, buy you should first invest in Equipment +5 for the Beginning. The Green items indicate that they have been Sold. Page 5 Ancient2 – Beginner Guide I Your Money will be under “Safebox”, there you can withdraw it easily. Page 6 Ancient2 – Beginner Guide I Then after you got your Money, go and make yourself the Equipment. If you have all of this, you are ready for the next Levels. Depending on how much Yang you made, you could even go for +6. I earned 700k and spent 100k for all of this. Page 7 Ancient2 – Beginner Guide I Level 10 – 15 Now you can do some light farming, I would recommend Level 10 and Level 15 Metins. Concentrated Reading, Exorcism Scrolls and Enchant Item are worth very much and you can make some pretty good Money early on. You can farm these easily up to level 15. Page 8 Ancient2 – Beginner Guide I Once Level 15, finish all the Biology Quest and Sell everything you dropped on the market, not everything is going to sell, just try your luck. I was unlucky with the dropps actually, so I didn’t make that much Yang in this Phase. Page 9 Ancient2 – Beginner Guide I Level 15 - 20 Once you get Level 15, use some Yang to get the Level 15 Weapon +6 and get a Level 18 Armor +6 and upgrade your shield and helmet to +6 as well, if you have some extra cash, you could upgrade shoes to +6 as well for some extra Movementspeed. I did not earn any more Yang and used 500k for the equipment thus far. It is possible that you need less or more yang, it is really luck dependent. Now that you have reached Level 15, you can use the Chat. I would recommend typing “ro?” in chat every 30 to 40 minutes. Page 10 Ancient2 – Beginner Guide I From now on you have 2 Choices how you want to progress in the Game. You can either stay Map1 and keep killing Level 10, 15 and 20 Metins until you get Level 18, or you can go Map2 and Level there to Level 20 much faster. I would recommend staying Map1 until you are Level 18, killing Metins and then going Map2 to do the last two Levels of this Chapter. This way you can drop some good Items from the Metins and then sell them in the Shop. Everything you drop you think is of value, you can put it in the offline shop. I personally sell cheap Skill Books for 5 to 20k, Upgrade Items depending on rarity for 5 to 100k and Concentrated Reading, Exorcism Scroll and Changers for 600k each. I went with the Method I recommended, leveling up to Level 18 at the Map1 Metins and farming stuff. As you can see, I am Level 18 and dropped some pretty good stuff to sell for more Yang. Sell everything in the Shop and make your way to Map2. Page 11 Ancient2 – Beginner Guide I Now you can either Level to Level 20 at the Easy Monkey Dungeon in the hope of dropping Horse Medals, or you can go to the Map2 Level Spot and Level there to Level 20. Page 12 Ancient2 – Beginner Guide I Page 13 Ancient2 – Beginner Guide I Level 20 to 25 From now on some light grinding is required to make some quick progress. You have many options from now on. • Monkey Dungeon farming Horse Medals for Horse Quest later (you need 11). • Farming Fullmoonswords in Orc Valley. • Leveling and Farming Redironblades/Esoteric Primers at the Arahans in Orc Valley. • Grinding Level 20/25 Metins until you are Level 25. • Leveling Straight to Level 25 on the same Level Spot in Map2 (not recommended) I would recommend a mix between the first 4 Options, do not expect quick Results, this and the next Phase are a bit Time intensive, and you will need a bit of Patience from now on. I went to the Monkey Dungeon and farmed my first 2 to 3 Horse Medals. Starting from Level 25 you can get your Horse and Level it up using Horse Medals. You can do the Riding Quest every 6 hours. If the Quest fails, you keep your Horse Medal and can try it again instantly. This means you only need 11 Horse Medals, Level 35 and 2 to 4 Days for the Quest. More on this in the later Chapters, but now is a good time to farm the first few Horse Medals. You can skip farming Horse Medals if you do not want to, you can alternatively farm Metins and sell the valuable Items and buy the Medals from Shops. Current Prices for Medals are somewhere between 300 and 500k Yang. I farmed on the Weekend because there is a Weekend Event every Week: Page 14 Ancient2 – Beginner Guide I I farmed for 1 Hour and got 3 Medals: Then I farmed Level 25 Metins until I was Level 22 so I could Reset my Skills at the Old Lady to make my Aura M1 if it failed to Jump from 16 to M1. (you could skip this if your Skill jumped from 16 to M1) Page 15 Ancient2 – Beginner Guide I My Aura jumped from 16 to M1, so I had luck. Now it is time to farm one Fullmoonsword in Orc Valley. Page 16 Ancient2 – Beginner Guide I Once you reach Level 25, you should start your first Horse Quest. I did not drop any Fullmoonsword or Redironblade. I will have to buy one later. Level 25 - 30 This Phase will stretch out a bit. Farm or Buy the Missing Horse Medals and do the Horse Quest every 6 hours -> Patience & Consistency is important. For Leveling you can go to Orc Valley and try Farming Redironblades again & Leveling up there simultaneously, or you can go Map2 Level Spot again and rush to Level 30 or keep killing Level 25 & 30 Metins until you are Level 30. I would recommend a mix of these Three. Once you reach Level 30, you should have all the needed Horse Medals and been doing the Horse Quest regularly. You should have a Level 30 Weapon either farmed or bought and some spare Yang from the Farming. Level 30 - 35 There are 4 Ways how you can Level to 35 easily. • Map2 Metin Grinding. • Orc Valley Middle killing Black Orcs. • Orc Valley Middle killing the Esoterics around Demon Tower. • Desert Map Middle Farming Level 40 Metins. Once you reach Level 35, you should finish the Armored Horse-Riding Quest. You need to kill 100 Scorpion/Snake Archers in the Desert. Ask people in the Chat or in Discord – people will offer to help you out. Once you are Level 35 and have the Armored Horse, you are good to go. Page 17
