Lesson 6: Intuition Training © You Are Complete LLC 1 GLOW SHEET Your intuition is your Internal GPS. It knows exactly how to guide you to becoming fullest expression of yourself. Unfortunately we are often told who and what we're supposed to be by society, our parents, religion, school etc and loose touch with our powerful guidance system. Part of the journey to becoming your True Badass Self requires you to uncover, discover and discard all the BS stories you've adopted. So let's do just that! I've identified several roles you may play in your life below. Choose at least 3 (and add your own) and answer the following 2 question. Roles: Daughter, Sister, Mother, Partner, Friend, Worker, Person of ethnicity, Leader, Feminist, Person that is diagnosed with , Person that identifies as gender expression or with sexual expression. What have I been told about what it means to be a (fill in the blank)? Lesson 6: Intuition Training © You Are Complete LLC 2 GLOW SHEET Now look at your answer above and answer this question, What of these traits align with my beliefs about what it means to be a ? Illuminating right!? You now have permission to discard all the untrue, unaligned stories about what it means to be who you are. Chuck 'em in the trash can below! Complete this exercise with at least two more BS ST roles although I OR IE recommend you do so with S every role you identify with. Otherwise you're carrying around a whole bunch of other people's baggage which is unnecessarily weighing you down. Yuck. Lesson 6: Intuition Training © You Are Complete LLC 3 GLOW SHEET FAILPROOF INTUITION EXERCISE I learned this trusted intuition exercise from Marie Forleo, best selling author and business maven and use it daily to make decisions that range from what to eat to should I sign a business contract. This exercise will help you distinguish between the natural fear that arises when you're trying something new (aka GROWING) or an intuitive hit that you should run in the other direction. That fear that you feel when you're growing is a good, very natural thing fyi. Here's how it works (from Marie's article): "Get in a comfortable seated or standing position. Close your eyes. Take a few deep, full breaths (at least three) and allow your mind to settle. Be present in your body. Then ask yourself the following question and pay careful attention to your instant, involuntary interior body reaction: Does saying yes to this make me feel expansive or contracted? In other words, when you imagine moving ahead with this opportunity, what happens in your body the nanosecond after you ask that question? Do you feel an openness, a sense of moving forward, a lightness in your chest? Joy, excitement, or fun? Or do you feel an immediate sense of heaviness and dread? Does your heart sink? Do you detect a tightening in your chest or a sick feeling in your tummy? Does Lesson 6: Intuition Training © You Are Complete LLC 4 GLOW SHEET something subtle inside of you retreat, pull back, close down, shut off, or somehow energetically say no – even though declining may not make logical sense? I’m not talking about your thoughts. I’m not interested in what your mind thinks you “should” do. I’m asking you to pay attention to the truth and wisdom in your body. In your heart. When you pay close attention and listen to your nonverbal, almost preverbal cues – you’ll notice a predominance of energy moving in one direction or the other. Obviously, if you feel anything close to expansive, joyful, or excited, that’s intuition signaling to move ahead and say yes. Contraction, or any sense of dread, means it’s a no-go. Your body has innate wisdom that extends far beyond reason and logic. You can’t think your way into accessing your body’s intelligence, you have to feel your way in. Your heart, gut, intuition – whatever you want to call it – is far more intelligent than your mind. In a sedentary, screen focused culture that normalizes living from the neck up, feeling and “hearing” what your body communicates takes practice. But like any other skill, it can be developed." I recommend first trying this exercise with topics you already know the answers to so that you can experience how your body reacts when when your intuition says yes and no. Then you can move on to subjects you're seeking clarity about. Rememebr there are no stupid questions.
