KEEPING ZOOM SAFE ‘Zoom-Bombings’ happen, and they can be distressing and disturbing. We must protect our groups and audiences. Luckily, there are a few easy Settings we can use, but they are not default - so follow these instructions. ➔ Keep Zoom updated, they are upgrading it all the time. ➔ Use unique IDs each time, create new meetings and generate new ones for larger group meetings. ➔ Only share registration links w ith known, trusted people if possible. ➔ Use the Waiting Room: Go to Settings > Meetings > Advanced > Waiting Room (you can customise the title logo and description to describe what people need to do.) ➔ Once everyone is in from the waiting room, the host must manually stop their videos (click the three dots at top of each participant and select stop video). IN LARGER, PUBLIC PRESENTATIONS ➔ Don’t let anyone hijack your screen - prevent Screen Sharing. efore the meeting: visit Zoom web → B portal (this cannot be done via the app) and in the settings navigate to Personal > Settings > In Meeting (Basic) and look for S creen sharing. Check the option that only the host can share. → During a meeting: you can use the Security button to change the setting. You can also click the up-facing carrot next to Share Screen and choose Advanced Sharing Options. There, choose to only let the host share (as above). Be safe and well.
